  1. Honestly, I don’t think any of us knows how good Pitt really is? I think Pitt was badly impacted last year by our disastrous offense. He went from 22.3 YPC, down to 9.3. He lost 3 yards per catch. That’s not normal. I don’t know how he’ll do this year, I’m just saying Pitt might be better than anyone even knows.
  2. I think I was with you with the first sentence. And I think you lost me after that. I think Richardson might be the most unique QB prospect I can recall. Because 13 games and less than 1000 college snaps means AR is going to make his college mistakes at the NFL level. And so I think Richardson needs to be handled carefully. And you seem to be saying keep giving him more. Throw him into the deep end and tell him to learn to swim. In other words, take the same approach the Colts took with Peyton his rookie year when he threw all those interceptions and the team went 3-13. In the long run, it worked out. But the difference is Peyton started three and a half seasons in college, so he had a ton of experience. Anthony has very little, so I don’t favor taking the same approach. If I’ve misunderstood you or mischaracterized anything you said, it wasn’t deliberate.
  3. Those can easily be staged for the camera if need be. Or…. The players arrived yesterday or this morning and signed at the facility today. Really, this isn’t hard…..
  4. Welcome to the world of the internet. There are so many tools that let you sign documents remotely. These days, it’s an everyday thing.
  5. Either way, confused or sad, if you wanted to point it out because you’re curious, I’d be happy to explain. Either way, it seems like you’re good, so I appreciate you reaching out. I always here if you want to touch base…..
  6. John…. If I gave you a confused emoji, off the top of my head, I don’t know why? I’ve checked this thread plus your profile and can’t find any post you wrote that left me confused. I’m not saying I didn’t do it, I’m saying I can’t find it, so I don’t remember what you wrote that had me confused? If you can point to the post that would let me explain my thinking. You know I’m a John Hammond fan, so I’m always interested in your line of thinking.
  7. Hines was sitting on a Jet ski in the water, not going anywhere. Apparently another person in a jet ski didn’t see him and slammed into Hines. It sounds like Nyheim’s injury is full blown surgery and not arthroscopic. Out for the season. He’s got one more year in his contract, but if the Bills want/need to, Hines would be an easy salary cap cut. Hope for the best….
  8. FYI: Brents and Freeland have officially signed. The team announcement is up on the front page of the website. As we mentioned earlier, there was no need to worry. These things always work out. Better days ahead.
  9. Huh? Ummm…. Never comes to mind, but certainly not now or even this season. You’re reading way, WAY too much into this. Their deals will likely get done this week. Nothing is wrong. No need to worry at all. Honestly.
  10. Honestly, I’m hoping the Irsay and Steichen comments are a smoke screen, a little white lie if you will. Something to placate the fans who will be beating the drums loudly and demanding AR play ASAP! I don’t think the idea that Richardson should start because Minshew isn’t good enough holds for me. Richardson should start when he’s ready, not any sooner. Things should separate in camp in August. Everything will be so soooo much faster and more complex than they were in May and June. I expect Minshew to start, but it’s hard to know? Look…. I’ll be thrilled if AR exceeds my expectations. If he’s ready to start week one and does reasonably well, I’ll be like everyone here, happy that AR is doing so well. But I’ve yet to read or hear anything that makes me think that. As always in these situations, I’d rather be wrong and AR exceeds expectations than he does poorly and struggles. I think if handled right, AR can have a good rookie year even if it’s not reflected in the W/L column or the stat sheet.
  11. The most important goal for the 2023 Indianapolis Colts is preparing Anthony Richardson to be the team’s starting quarterback in 2024.   Nothing else is as important, not even winning.

  12. 1. When does AR PLAY? What week? 2. When does AR START? What week? For many here — perhaps most? — the answers to both questions are the same. Week One. But for others the answers are different. AR may play the first week, but that doesn’t mean he’ll begin the regular season as the week one starter. This post was inspired by @Nickster. He and I agree on almost nothing, but months ago he posted that he thought Steichen will give AR some packages for a number of series in the first month or so. Then give AR more and more as the season progresses until he’s ready to start, whenever that is? Week 4?? Week 6? Hard to know? I thought Nick was 100 percent right when he first floated the idea and I still think he’s right. Props to him. Nothing else seems as logical to me. As most here know, a typical NFL game has each team with roughly 10 series. So I can see Steichen giving AR 3-4 series in each of the first 3-4 games. Then perhaps 5-6 series in the next 3-4 games. Then, I’d guess somewhere around week 7-9, Steichen gives Richardson the keys to the car and AR starts the rest of the way…. Roughly 9-11 games learning on the job as the full time starter. During the first 6-8 games, Richardson is exposed to every situation. 2 minute drill, 4 minute drill, Red Zone, you name it. Put more on his plate until he shows he’s ready. Hoping that Irsay can keep his powder dry while the offense gets up to speed. Since camp opens this week, I’m hoping more and more posters return to the website and respond here. I didn’t put this in a poll format (thought I might screw that up?). If a moderator would like to amend the post to add a poll that’s fine by me. Football is back! Hoping our promising young quarterback grows into our next franchise quarterback!
  13. About the salary cap going up…. Here are the numbers from Over The Cap . Com 2022: $208.2 2023: $224.8. +16.6m 2024: $256. +31.2m 2025: $282. +26m 2026: $308. +26m And, the cap numbers went down sharply in 20 and 21 because of Covid. Both sides agreed to adjustments for the good of everyone. But now there is lots of new TV and Streaming money for all 32 teams.
  14. FYI: The salary cap is going up. Way, way up. At a much faster rate than before. If the Colts want Taylor, they will have no problem affording him. The question becomes will Taylor accept the Colts offer? Plus, a reminder, Taylor still has one more year on his rookie contract. So he’s covered for 2023. The Colts can always let him play out his rookie deal and Tag him in 24 and 25.
  15. Maybe I don’t know the definition of click bait? That’s possible. But to me, it’s always stood for attention grabbing headlines, that once you clicked on it to read, you found that there really wasn’t much to the story. The headline sucked you in, but the story let you down. Click bait. Anyone else with thoughts? And by the way, that’s definitely NOT what The Athetic does…. I look forward to it everyday….
  16. The post was about training camp predictions. It was not about the next two years.
  17. Im only expressing my own view. I didn’t recommend to anyone else either to watch it or not to. I have no issue with anyone else watching it. I only wanted to express the view of someone who has followed Luck all the back to his high school years. Honestly, that’s all.
  18. Yes, JT is the most indispensable. No, Miss can’t replace him per se. But I think he’d be decent. Moss is not going to average 5+ yards per carry like Taylor, but I think he’d average 4+. And that’s acceptable. Moss would not be exclusive, other backs would get snaps as well, guys like Jackson and the rookie Hull.
  19. Im always interested in new fresh material on Luck. But I have no interest — none — in reliving all the Luck years in a 40 minute video that amounts to little more than an opinion piece. In short, there won’t be NEW information to learn, there’s only going to OLD info that’s just getting recycled. Sorry…. I’m a long time admirer of Luck, but I have zero interest.
  20. Taylor’s backup is Zac Moss. The Colts acquired him in the Hines trade with Buffalo. Moss did very well for the Colts last year.
  21. By the way, for the record, my source material on this was several articles on ESPN, as well as the 33rd Team website, and some pre-season profiles from Daniel Jeremiah over on NFL.com.
  22. If you started out as a worker and are now owning your own business, my sincere congratulations. You have much to be proud of. I hope you continue to do well, as I want everyone to do well. I know it’s a cliche but it’s also true, small businesses are the backbone of America. So glad you were able to survive Covid, I’m sure it wasn’t easy. A tip of my hat to you….
  23. I really enjoyed enjoyed your first three paragraphs…. But here’s the argument for Frank Reich. 1. He got the best year out of Luck by far and Luck wasn’t even close to 100 percent. 2. He was getting a good year out of Brissett until he got hurt and played well below 100 percent. 4. Look at the years both Rivers and Wentz had BEFORE they joined the Colts. Both were career worst. Yet both bounced back to have better years with Frank. And both years were the two worst Covid years when practice was limited. 5. You could argue the person who ruined Matt Ryan wasn’t Frank Reich. It was Chris Ballard and our former OL coach. Frank didn't put that terrible OL together. Im not telling you Frank was blameless. He gets his share as well. I just think history shows things weren’t as bad with Frank as some might think.
  24. Thanks. One other question out of curiosity…. Im guessing you’re a business owner, or you’re upper management in a very successful business? Seems your perspectives were either from ownership or upper management. I’ve been middle management and worker bee and was trying to offer that perspective. It may be why we didn’t see eye to eye? Appreciate the exchange….
