  1. This situation just gets weirder. I would love to know what the offer on the table currently is. Taylor should get payed close to the same level of the top RBs in the league. But if he and his agent are doing all of this just because the offer doesn't break the RB market, then that's silly. Both Irsay and Taylor's agent seem to be acting incredibly stupid on Twitter either way.
  2. I don't understand how Ballard wouldn't pay Taylor a higher end RB contract for the next 2-3 years. The man has been trying to carry an entire offense for the last two years. Frank basically said # it to the pass game in 2021. Teams got the hint last year and stacked the box all the time but Frank didn't care lmao. Even Taylor's supposed 'down' and 'injury riddled' year last year was pretty good lol. It's not like RBs get payed a ton compared to their offensive peers anyways... Pay the man. I'm pretty sure we're paying close to double in dead cap for some awful QBs then we would pay for a potential 2-3 years of elite Taylor play. He has great character, great work ethic, and is obviously a smart guy and makes the locker room better. He got hurt last year, but that was his first major injury he's ever had in his football career I believe. Seems like a no brainer for Ballard to pay one of the few guys who made him look at least somewhat decent in the last three years.
  3. I just hope he doesn't rush it. If he can never get back to the level he expects and feels comfortable with, then it was a damn good, albeit short, run by him. Seems like he was way too impatient last year despite a lot of fans saying he was milking his injury or demanding him back on the field.
  4. He was really good last year, but got hurt. He can easily breakout in year 3 if he stays healthy.
  5. Richardson is going to struggle this season if he starts early on. Too young with too little experience not to. I think Ballard/Steichen and Irsay understand that but fans on the other hand are always there to eat up the hype and then bash the player if he underperforms. Richardson will be tested mentally the most this year with these kind of expectations placed on him from the get go. I'll watch the Colts until I die tbh. I don't care how good or bad they are
  6. Could've. That's for the investigation to determine what he bet on exactly.
  7. I know I'm going against history here , but I hope the NFL lets him off with a 1-2 year ban if he didn't bet against the Colts. Not defending his actions, but he didn't hurt anyone. He just something incredibly and outrageously stupid. But he's a young guy who might have had bad influences in his ear telling him stuff like they won't care if it's 25-50 dollar bets. We don't know all the context here yet. I guess I'm in the minority with that opinion, but players have done a lot worse and gotten far less harsh punishments. I know the integrity of the game matters but if he didn't bet against his own team it's not like his bets influenced the game.
  8. It also helps to increase the amount of people that will % on Ant when he most likely starts off playing poorly in the first few weeks. That's the part I don't like.
  9. I cant really see the Colts doing that bad this year unless the OL plays as poorly as it did early last season. If that's the case, then Ballard should have a very toasty seat for not making the necessary changes there all offseason. I expect a 6 win season more or less.
  10. Way too much hype on Ant now. I wanted either him or Stroud very early on in the draft season, but it was always gonna take time with him. Peyton said it best in the Omaha Productions short where he spoke about Richardson. Josh Allen had almost twice as many snaps in college and he was considered raw coming into the NFL. But he's also right in saying that he's still gonna make huge passes and break huge TD runs from the get go because he simply has the ability to on any given play, and Shane Steichen knows how to take advantage of that. But he's gonna miss plenty of simple passes early on. Experience matters and most rookie QBs, talented or not, are pretty awful their rookie year and almost every single drafted NFL QB (good or bad) has had more snaps than Anthony Richardson... it'll be fun to watch the progress though. Way better then the trainwreck we got to watch last year lol
  11. I'd say this is a very reasonable guess for his stats if he starts the full season. I think it'll be 18 TD, 11 INT with around the same rushing stats as well.
  12. That's sick! I'd love the NFL to go international in general. There's a whole bunch of logistical blockers from that happening with permanent teams, but I'm happy they are increasing the amount of games at least. If that trend continues, I think pairing it up with another bye week will help a lot of the complaints players reasonably might have with it. If they somehow introduce teams in Mexico and Canada (I know the CFL exists, but c'mon) then perhaps there is a future where we have a European division.
  13. His route running seems to be elite elite. Pair that with his 4.4 speed then no wonder Wayne likes him lol.
  14. I had a feeling about us picking Richardson over Stroud and Young for a bit. Ballard caring about RAS isn't a new thing, and AR is top 5 all time potentially in regards to an all around athlete in the NFL. And Streichen mostly has a NFL HC gig now for his work in running an offense with a mobile QB in the NFL at an elite level.
  15. A short passing game probably would've given him a chance to be healthier as well as he took all sorts of huge hits waiting for big plays to develop behind a mediocre OL. He did run the deep pass game pretty well though for what it's worth
  16. More weapons for Ant. That's fun to say.
  17. Ballard picking someone who is 5'10 is something I thought I'd never see. Have no idea about the dude though, hope he's good! Edit: 5"10
  18. I think it's RG for sure. I wouldn't mind another CB pick again tbh. Most years we usually get pretty deep into our DB depth due to injuries.
  19. I don't know nothing this year about prospects due to obsessing with the QBs, but hopefully this guy is good! We got a lot of picks in the mid rounds for some OL depth as well.
  20. God I'm so excited for the future of the Colts now. AR is smart and hard working, and with his age he has everything it'll take to develop as a passer more and more along with being in a system that will take advantage of his abilities.
  21. This kid is gonna be great. I'd be totally happy with him not playing this year, but chances are we'll see him partially throughout the season in some packages, and he'd probably start the last few games if we are out of playoff contention with Minshew.
