  1. I have been hard on the Olne, but remember this. This Olne has been under a lot of pressure in the Reich years due to qb play. Its, the same story today. Teams r playing the run and will until Richardson can beat them with his arm. When that happens, lanes will open up big time.
  2. Because the players they draft at the premium positions didn't amount to much and they had 7 years to do it!!!
  3. I said I would give him a 2nd chance. However,, after preseason and joint practices, I am under whelmed by the talent on this team. Remember, people said that Frank was the problem. Now the excuse will be that we have a rookie qb. Yes, we do have a rookie qb. That being said, the supposed talent that Ballard has assembled should make it easier for him to excel. I actually expect Richardson to lift the talent of those around him and not the other way around.
  4. 7 years in and this is what we r left with? When u actually survey this team, Ballard should have been gone. I will reset, but he should have been fired. I am looking and having a hard time seeing the next young thing on this roster. All his young draft picks have looked meh in practice and preseason. Things could change but I am not very hopeful. Steichen basically dumped all the wr talent accumulated by Ballad. We r left with guys who have not shown the ability to separate. The TE and WR group need to flourish in order for Richardson to develop. That could lead to Ballard's exit this season. Also, Paye and Adengbo have yet to have wow moments. How many picks has he sunk into this Dline? To many to have these results. The Oline better bounce back or else. I do see a scenario where Ballard could be gone. If Steichen views Ballard as a poor evaluator of talent, there could be a power struggle. My bet is on Steichen if Richardson balls out in spite of the talent around him.
  5. Agreed, he drafted him but from all reports coming out, this appeared to be Steichen's call.
  6. I believe the most coaches script the first 1520 plays. That is why in-game adjustments to a degree get over blown by the media.
  7. I don't think Ballard would get a lot of credit if Richardson succeeds. From all the info coming out, it was Brown, I believe that was his name, and Steichen who felt that Richardson could was legit. I was listening to a Colts podcast and love him or hate him, Venturi felt this was a meh roster. I said about a week ago that this roster reminded me of a expansion team roster. Yes, I was being dramatic, but I am hoping that guys like Pierce, Granson, Raimann, Ogletree, Paye and Adengbo(spelling) become those guys. It is funny but I just think of the Chiefs and the superstar elite players that they have drafted; Mahonnes,Hill, Kelce, Jones. Those 4 players are arguably the best at their positions. I am craving for an elite postion player to develop under Ballard's leadership.
  8. Here's what I could see happening. Let's say Richardson looks like the franchise, but many of Ballards recent picks do not take shape. I could see a scenario in which Steichen has gained Irsay's trust, and Steichen picks his own GM. It works in KC, New England, Seattle, and San Fran.
  9. Honest question. Does Ballard survive if this team is picking in the top 5 again? I don't think so. If Richardson becomes one of the few bright spots, how can he?
  10. Not sure about Menaa. I go to their weekly meetings and I haven't seen him yet, lol!!!
  11. JT is a brilliant man. He is driving this train and no one to blame but himself.
  12. I am not necessarily believing that Ballard is trying to salvage the situation. I think it is well beyond repair. I am on record that they would not get a lot in terms of trade offers . We heard a couple of teams kicked the tires but I am not sure they even made an offer of any draft picks. I think what Ballard is hoping for is an injury to a teams rb snd then they turn to the Colts, and then Ballard has some leverage. I totally believe that Ballard would have pulled the trigger on even a 3rd rounder. I really believe that no team even made an offer. Taylor was probably not willing to play under his current dealt. Therefore, no offer was made. Just my feeling.
  13. 17 games. Let's say 3800 yards, 20 picks and 17 touchdowns. That would be a good year based on where he is coming from. Oh and rushing for 900 yards
  14. I know it sounds easy to correct, and I hope he does. However, when the bullets fly, a lot of qbs revert back to their bad mechanics. He does seem different.
  15. Didn't see that and I am wrong bout Pakcers reaching out. That being said, I bet it was a low pick I'd it e sn made it that far. I vrt thr conversation probably started with asking if Taylor would player under current dealsnd his camp said no.. Exploratory to me does not mean offering a huge contract as reported by some.
  16. K that makes absolutely no sense. They just extended Jones who is a more complete back and they paid him $500,000.00 for a roster bonus, I believe. So they will trade for Taylor and pay him big money? That's why people like her have no credibility.
  17. Waddle!!! He is a number 2 because of Hill being a number one. If Waddle was traded and/or was signed as a free agent, his contract would reflect that they would be paying him as a number #1. Number 1 or number 2,it really doesn't matter, based on his position and his skill set, he has tons more value in todays NFL than Taylor does. That was my point.
  18. Listened to Lombari's pod cast just a minute ago. He said that the Colts are probably shocked at Taylor and his agent's behavior over the last month or so. He doesn't see how even money can fix this situation. There were no offers that were substantive. Teams were offering penny's on the dollar and that Ballard was even counter offering but no one was biting. Is Taylor a good player? Yes he is but he had a down year last year. There was no guarantee that Taylor would play out this year on current contract. He said that the agent was fueling a lot of the supposed interest and the draft choices that were being offered. He will miss 4 games and that is going to further devalue Taylor. If there was a good deal out there, the Colts would have taken it. He highly doubts the Green Bay interest as they just did Jones contract and he got a $500,000.00 roster bonus and it is not the way the GM does business. The rb market is what it is and more times than not, they do not play out their 2nd contracts. Even though Taylor is an adult, it sounds like the agent really messed this up. The Colts let him seek a trade as they wanted to show Taylor his true value and contrary to the multiple picks that were apparently being offered, it sounds like teams were offering very low picks. If interested you can go to GM Shuffle pod cast. Oh and he was right on Trey Lance. Was right on Taylor going on the PUP and recently said that Zona wont play Murray and it sounds like stuff coming out of Zona that they wont be playing him when he comes back from injury. Total rebuild in Zona
  19. Ixdo not beleive that. If Ballard requested Wassl If Ballard seriously or even said it as a joke Waddle for Taylor, then he should be fired today. It would make me seriously question his intelligence and further question his abilities as a GM. I know u bargain, but I can tell u Miami would say no mid sentence so it is a non starter.
  20. I think there is a little Bellichek in Steichen in terms of how he will use players. He must see more talent on the team side than wr. Remember that Richardson has accuracy issues and having big targets will give him confidence. Who knows, maybe he is going to run some unique formations and put out 3 TE's at a time lol.
  21. I'm confused by this. So the player says he still has pain but goes to the extremes of asking for a trade when he doesn't get an extension!! How could u even take of wanting that type of player on your team? I really don't get it.
