  1. After 7 years under Ballard, I am still waiting. Sorry, I just couldn't resist lol
  2. Where is the disdain for Ballard? I don't hate Ballard, but I thoroughly believe he has been over rated by the media and this board. I am on record saying I will give him a fresh start. I think Taylor and Irsay would be the ones to blame why this went sideways. Taylor is not reading the room and Irsay did not need to get involved. The GM for the Eagles is elite. He let traded Wentz a couple of years ago and look at them now. We lost Luck what 5 years ago and look at us now!! I am just saying that when a relationship sours, it usually involves 2 parties. I don't think that is hate, I think that is common sense.
  3. I don't know much about contracts. He is under contract so going on the PUP and is his way of having a valid excuse to not practice. Maybe hard for the team to challenge him on this at this time. Now if he failed to show up and is not on the PUP does he not incur fines because he is under contract? In short, it was probably smart by him feigning an injury if that is what he is doing. This will come to a head will it now as doesn't the team have to make a decision soon as to leave him on the PUP or take him off and if he is on, doesn't he miss 6 games?
  4. I don't like what he is doing, but in the end, he wants to take care of his family and knows this is his one shot to cash in. I don't think it is working for him but u never know, he could get what he wants but I do doubt he comes close to what he wants. Cancer is a strong word, as he is just doing his thing, and the team seems to be rejuvenated based on their play up to date. My reasoning for trading him or sending his home is that I don't want this going into the season and having to answer questions bout this weekly. I want the focus on the team building. He does need to stop the moping lol. That I can do without
  5. Cardinals and Bears,r rebuilding, so to me, a hard no. Eagles just let their rb walk cause they didn't want to pay him lol. I think people on this board over value Taylor based on this new scheme, the qb play, Taylor's skill set, and the value a rb has in today's football. We just two great rbs come up for contracts, and the end results
  6. I do blame all parties involved. In any dysfunctional relationship, it usually takes two. Like I said previously, Ballard needs to tone his excitement bout players when asked by the media if he wants that player back on a,2nd contract
  7. Of course it can happen. If a team only gives up say a 4th rounder and he agree to play under his current contract, then yes, that team would probably agree not to franhise him next year. It would be a rental. The conditions would have to be right for a team agreeing not to franchise him. The Colts cannot send him to any team . Taylor can simply say I won't play for say Miami, and then Miami will not make a trade. He does have some leverage. Teams are not going to trade for Taylor unless they have sort of agreement.
  8. The thing thay is funny is this. How come we r hearing all this Taylor to Miami talk? Jacobs is coming off a great year and no injury, but we have heard nothing. To me if I was Miami, I would sooner go after Jacobs, but it's crickets in the media. I believe the agent is leaking all of this to the media as he is trying to make the Colts look bad. Presuring them to pull the trigger. I don't think Colts are saying anything.
  9. Thry are sending a message to Taylor and we all know the Colts are not really expecting a number one. It's how u open up the bargaining. I bet based on current circumstances, they get is a 3rd.
  10. Agree. I don't know why people think Miami is giving up a lot. The rb market has been set.
  11. I agree with u hear on how he fits their team. I think sometimes teams think they are a back away. Miami is not a back away. They are a qb away. Tua probably won't last the season so I would be more focused on a back up then rb
  12. Do a search. Possible suspension looming regarding domestic violence
  13. He was a good, signing, but they didn't win, and that defense was loaded, and Purdy started to hit his stride.
  14. Colts know they won't get a 1st before making that demand. We all know if he is traded it would probably be for a 3rd or so. They went public with a 1st because Taylor probably wants 15 mill or so. Now when teams come back with a let's say a 3rd or 2nd. The Colts can go back to Taylor and say that's your value and do u think a 3rd round pick is worth 16 mill a year? They can still trade him for a 3rd and the Colts will feel better because they can show the fan base that they were right in not extending him.
  15. Do u ser Miami giving up a starting RG when their qb is one hit away from retirement?
  16. When is the last time acquiring an elite back is the answer to winning a superbowl? Just asking
  17. He could agree to a trade if the team he was traded to agreed not to franchise him.
  18. I think a possible suspension scared some teams. However, there is no way a team is giving up a 1st for Taylor. The one thing is this. Taylor may feel so slighted by the Colts, and his pride is taking over that he may go the a team and play out his contract and test the market next year. Either way, do u see a team giving up high draft pick for a one year rental? Do u see a team giving up a high pick and then having to extend him? Either way, I think the offers are low, and that's why I do a conditional pick based on Miami's success is the way I go. I think a team would be more comfortable with a conditional pick. There is a lot on the line in Miami. Tua on last year of contract. They made a ton of moves in the last couple of years. The coach and GM need something to show for it or they could be out. The coach came with a lot of hype. The could be coaxed into giving away more than they should but I don't see it. Either way, if they get nothing for it and the Colts let it go on, I will lose more faith in Ballard. I vowed to reset the Ballard meter this year, but this is asituation that he will be scrutinized for and should be.
  19. Firstly, I think before examining these trades, one has to look at the noted teams salary cap. Which of these teams have draft capital and the cap room to sign Taylor? Is Taylor willing to go to say Miami and play under his current contract and then explore the market in the off season? Is Miami willing to give the Colts a pick knowing he could walk in the off season? I pretty confident that no team is going to give up a high pick and then sign him to a deal. I think Cook's recent signing should tell us what the current market is for a rb. Miami could have signed him for like I think it was like 9 million a year and had to give up nothing. So why would they now turn around now and pay Taylor more money and give up draft capital? I think Cook is a better all around back but older and there is apparently some concern that he is facing a suspension, which could be a reason for his stock being down. I think if Miami really felt they really needed a back, they could look around the league and make a trade for someone who was still under contract and was rated maybe a step below Taylor. Look at what the Niners did last season. They gave up picks for a back under contract. I think what people are forgetting is this. They have Waddle and Hill. They are the most explosive tandem in the NFL. Taylor would be great but you could probably plug a a lot of backs into that offence and they would excel because of the defense focusing on those two burners. You will not have safety in the box. Hell, I could probably play in that O and get 4.0 a carry lol!! I am of the belief that the Colts need to say good bye and I said this when he demanded the trade. I might have even said it a day or two whey I heard he was moping at practice. I think Ballard will be scrutinized on how he deals with this situation. For me, I make this trade with a team and make it conditional. Lets say the team is Miami, because that seems to be where all the buzz is. I say to Miami its a 1st rounder if you win the Superbowl. Its a 2nd if you win the AFC. Its a 3rd if you make the play offs. Get it done and be gone with it!. If the Colts do not make the trade, then they need to send him home for the year. He cannot be around this team given what Steichen is trying to build.
  20. To me it's not about Ballard improving line. The supposed talent that he has assembled should be able to play more than good enough to compensate for average to below average play at RG. I mean my God what does that say about the Oline if they can't? If they cannot and no receiver, tight end and / or D line develop this year, then Ballard should be shown the door no matter how Richardson plays.
  21. Do any of Ballard's picks at the most important position look like they are going to be stars? I am concerned about going into the season and wondering who I'd going to develop into something special.
  22. I think we all knew that before we drafted him. Get ready for some ugly very ugly days? I do like what I c from him so far. Need those around him to play at higher level.
