  1. I have the colts as competing for the Division but its not really based on a turnaround in team talent as we they have several units weak and a question.

I think they could compete in the south with AR5 doing a quick transition to the nfl. But that doesn't mean they will be a consistent force for the next decade or have a linear progression to dominance.

I just feel the colts will have a turnaround season in '23. But if AR5 turns out to be the real deal then he could carry this franchise on his back(if he has to) from time to time but I'd like to see a good supporting cast around him and not have him to do it alone.

I never seen Sayers live but I have seen video of him and know he was important to football. I would put him in the Hall of Fame, I just think there were many Back's better than him. I think Joe Namath belongs in the Hall of Fame as well but I also think there were many QB's better than him. If you look at any list done by the media or fans, Namath is never in the top 10, doesn't mean he wasn't great though.

I don't think, don't know for sure, there were many backs like him in those days. Since then there have been many. But that doesn't mean he wasn't special or undeserving. Also, while in that era, WR Paul Warfield was a super star and few receivers back then had his speed and moves..Nowadays there are many that are as fast and faster. Its just different eras, slowly the game as everything else in the world  changes. That's why you have to give Kudos to those that are elite at what they do/did in their era. Which is why Babe Ruth was probably the greatest ever because no-one Dominated their days like he did in his days.

.....maybe one day we can do a all-time MLB list of some kind in the baseball section? If we do a All Time manager list I guarantee I won't put Aaron Boone on it. haha

Sometimes the HOF gets things horribly wrong, and this is one of those cases.

I'm not going to get into the Gayle Sayres discussion because I didn't see him play or look up his stats and don't feel qualified to really have a valid opinion on him.

But I 100% agree with you on the HOF sometimes getting it wrong...... Another example is Bob Griese. He used to hand the ball off to Czonka, Mercury Morris behind one of the best OL ever. I think in the SB's he threw as few as 6 or 8 passes. haha

Yep, that has been my avatar since I have been a member in here. IMO, regardless of the way he retired, I still think Luck is the 3rd greatest QB in Colts history. Only behind Peyton and Unitas. I think he was better than Jones and definitely better than Harbaugh. Jones did win a League MVP but Luck had a much better record with little to work with and Luck had more playoff wins + Statistically between he and Jones, it isn't even close in favor of Luck.

You know I'm going to disagree with you here my friend. Lol

Imo, Luck isn't worthy of holding Jones jockstrap. Jones was forced out because of injuries. luck excused himself out because the NFL overwhelmed him mentally and he wanted a easier life with no pressure. Which was ok for him and his right but he let a lot of people down in the process and in your own words set the franchise back 5 years.

As far as playing, you can't compare stats from different era's. Besides of having Charisma off the charts, Jones was known as the Best QB in Football in his day while  I dont think luck was  considered a Top 6 while playing.... Brady, Rogers, Peyton, Breese, Rorhlisberger, and Rivers were considered higher ranked by most. He was more in the tier that included Stafford, Ryan. Well inside the Top 10 but not near #1.

Jones was said to be Elway before Elway was Elway. When asked who was the Best QB he ever seen Bill Belichek said "Bert Jones was hard to beat"!!! He didn't say Luck, he didn't even say Manning or his very own Brady.... he said Bert Jones!!!

I know how you feel about Luck and you know how I feel about Jones so its ok to disagree. I know you think highly of Jones too, I wish I felt similar toward Luck.

Hopefully, our guy presently(AR5) will be more successful than them with more playoff wins including some titles too. Like I said you can't compare different era's but Both Jones & AR5 have one thing in common, both are the most athletically gifted QBs in their day and that should mean at the very least we should have fun watching colt games for years.

The thing we need to hope for is for AR5 not have the one thing Jones & Luck both shared......playing wreckless.

He needs to play smart and stay out of harms way.

Hypothetically speaking..If the Colts had solved the QB vacancy Luck created and gone on to win and be contenders. Would fans feel differently about his retirement?

Regardless of the colts success or lack of after him retiring doesn't change the fact he QUIT on the team, management, fans just two weeks before the season opener and showed he was  as frisky as a pup in pregame warmups.

I don't know if he'll be booed if he returns to Lucas Oil But he certainly was Booed off the field when his retirement was leaked on PA system.

  6. Any all-time Colt list that doesn't include The Great Bert Jones isn't worth a grain of salt.....imo. Lol

    Here's mine:

    1. Johnny Unitas

    2. Bert Jones

    3. Peyton Manning

the rest are more difficult especially the order which is less important.

    4. Geno Marchetti

    5. OT Parker

    6. Raymond Berry

    7. Lenny Moore

    8. Mike Curtis

    9. Marvin Harrison

    10. Dwight Freeney

I omitted Dickerson, maybe best RB of all time , because we traded for him and he only played a few seasons for us. But he's one of my all time favorites.

Also Ted the mad stork  Hendricks was special but was traded to the Raiders and you can't list everyone on a top 10 list lol. Certainly a lot of special players to wear the Horseshoe.

  7. I don't know if the Jets are a Cinderella team as I think a lot of people are expecting them to make the playoffs and possibly make a run at the SB......I'm certainly rooting for Rogers.

I'm sticking with the Colts and or Texans having a somewhat turn around season and make the playoffs.

  8. AR5 will have 5 seasons to learn his craft at the NFL level, so I don't think having a season or two less than other QBs did in college will effect his ability in 4 or 5 years from now.

Right now I believe the salaries for Top QBs are around $50mill or so?. With inflation I wouldn't be surprised if it rises another 20 million or more in 6 years. I think AR5 will be a Top QB and get paid accordingly and think possibly opposing teams will look at going up against him in a few years  like today's teams look at playing Burrow & Maholmes.

If the coaching and lack of weapons are lacking and/or his passing skills don't progress to what I think they will, I would think his floor will still be somewhere around Lemar Jackson, which isn't bad.

I'm not usually so optimistic about the Colts, but I am about him and really like what I see from him on & off the field. Not just his off the chart physicality but his football IQ and desire/hunger to succeed.

I could be wrong of course and anything can happen. But I think the colts were fortunate to get him and hope they do their part and surround him with good coaching and supporting cast.

    10 years $750 million. haha

    Nerd break

I am looking forward to Starfield, but I am nervous. It looks awesome, but there are some reports that have me worried that it is going to be a bit overhyped as this huge and in-depth game, but in the end, wind up being a shallow experience. For instance, it is reported that only 10% of the planets will actually even have life on them, and there are no vehicles to explore the planets... so either they are going to be very small planets, or have a restricted area that you can explore on them..... or there is going to be an insane amount of walking....  I'm hoping that it is really good, but i'm not getting my hopes too high.

    Nerd break over

I think we will struggle early, a lot, and people are going to lose their minds. AR will show flashes of brilliance - and equally show those rookie boneheaded mistakes, which may look a lot worse for a while longer with him, seeing as how inexperienced he is. I've delved into what I think is enough research on him to see that he has the tools to become something special, its just whether or not he will ever put it all together - and it may take some time with him so we all need to be patient.

I think he will start off pretty bad, it will be ugly, but by end of October or November he will start to show flashes. I think he wont really start to show anything where we all start to think "Ok, here we go - this is our franchise QB", until towards the back end of year 2, but if we are all patient enough, he should show us who he really is eventually, and i think that is a franchise QB.

In answer to the original question, I think we go 4-13 or 5-12 this year.

Yeah its concerning no land vehicles but I think mods will add them later and I heard you can use jet packs. Most planets don't have life so I guess they want to keep realistic.... I don't think there will be intelligent aliens either which is weird because a lot of people think they are here on earth in real life. Lol

I will be interested in Neon City, I heard its like Vegas and anything goes haha

As far as colts in '23 they have three potential units that could spell doom. But like I said previously, I think it's their turn to have a decent year in a weak division.

Here are a couple of questions for you baseball fans @NFLfan, @w87r, @LJpalmbeacher2, @Myles, @HOZER

    1. What year did you become a fan of your team?

    2. What are the top 5 teams you have witnessed during your fandom. It is witnessed so the 1927 Yankees would not be on your list for example unless you 100 years old or older.

    Mine: Cubs fan since 1984,

Top 5 best teams I have witnessed.

    5. 1989 Cubs - *Won NL Central at 93-69, lost in NLCS. Sandberg, Grace, Dawson, and Maddux were all on that team and were great.

    4. 2003 Cubs - *Won NL Central at 88-74, lost in NLCS in 7 hard fought games vs the Marlins. Was up 3-1 in that series! Marlins went on to win the World Series. The Steve Bartman season.

    3. 2015 Cubs - 97-65, lost in NLCS, beat the NL Central Champs Cards in NLDS as a WildCard team to get to the NLCS.

    2. 1984 Cubs - *Won NL Central at 96-65, lost in NLCS. We were loaded that season and just gave away the NLCS with blunders. Sandberg won League MVP that season. Sutcliffe was almost un-hittable all season. That was a fun team to watch.

    1. 2016 Cubs - *Won NL Central at 103-58, won NL Pennant, won the World Series. Voted by the MLB media as a top 5 team of all-time in history. Bryant, Rizzo, Baez, Zobrist, Jake, Lester, Hendricks, Chap - what can I say

The Simpsons GIF by KiwiGo (KGO)

Been a Fan of Yankees since I was a little boy. My eldest brother was a fan of Mickey Mantle so I guess I followed suit.

I guess the Best teams I witnessed were my Yankees that won the world series 4 out of 5 years and just missed 5 in a row..

Outside of the Jeter led Yankees I think the best teams were The Big Red Machine, Charlie Finleys A's but don't really remember too much about them except they were really good.

  11. Like I said somewhere earlier, of course its not a good look for NFL if players bet(even though Russo says owners and Goodell do?) BUT the penalty doesn't fit the violation. Being suspended for a year or indefinitely his way too harsh. Thats too severe for most players and hurts the teams too.

Imo, the penalties should depend on how much they bet. If the Aggregate Bets are say $1000 or less for a week(which is peanuts for these guys, even those earning rookie minimum) then the fines/penalty should be minor.

If their bets are much more, then heavier punishment, especially if not their first heavy bets.

Most people Gamble for Fun, win or lose, and seriously doubt a player making small bets will go out of his way to try to influence his tiny wager becoming a winning one.

The NFL is definitely more guilty of other, bigger  things that lower the integrity of their game, but yet the NFL is still popular ironically because of gambling. haha

  12. So proud and happy for Domingo German and catcher Higgy for the Perfect Game.

I really started paying attention after the 5th inning. I've always liked German and so happy he made history.

I have to admit I was nervous in the 8th & 9th, very, very nervous in the 9th. 3B Donaldson ate¿ that smasher Ruiz hit for the 27th out to preserve the Historic game.

I always root for pitchers to get the no-no, its really a special thing for them and I like to see it.

So you know I was especially ecstatic to see one of our very own to not only get the no hitter but a Perfect Game! Only 24 of them in history, and I was fortunate enough to catch it live from my favorite team. F

A Special Treat and moment for me as a life long Yankee Fan.
