Can't blame it all on gas prices either.

Lol..I get your sarcasm. Yeah...San Diego is what all in looks like. The Colts are just blowing smoke up our collective...you know what. Ballard had a horrible off-season last year in my opinion and should be the focus of Irsay's ire for falling short last year. Instead, they made Carson the scapegoat and face for last season's debacle. But Ballard was the one who did not pay enough attention to LT and pass rushers. He put too much confidence in young inexperienced drafted guys and jettisoned key vets who were contributors and locker room leaders. ( I.e. Houston and Autry). This team basically has the same issues that it did last off season.

I just love fans who comment after one day of an event that lasts more than a month. Big deal. It means nothing.Actually it usually does mean something because the more talented FA's are usually signed early and the ones that are signed say a week or two later are mostly regarded as fill-ins.
Now I haven't been keeping up on this year's signings so far or even who are the FA's available. But generally speaking the early days in Free Agency is when the better players are signed, more expensive yes but more desirable for teams.

Well I guess it's that time again when people complain about Ballard not signing FA's early and their told "FA just started, how can you already be complaining"???....... and the other teams that sign FA's are made fun of being foolish for "overspending".

He's just doing his job to keep the Colts Irrelevant.

Ballard could not make a decision. He drug his feet and then Rams jumped in late. Maybe If colts had made a quicker decision Ir would of happened.
Bargain shoppers don't usually make quick decisions.

I guess not acknowledging the colts had offensive talent fits yours and others narrative.
Ok, lol.

what caliber weapons did luck have that even come close to chase and Higgins? Maybe TY? That’s it.TY, Reggie, Fleener, and the other TE drafted in the 3rd round & won John Mackey award. ....

There is one website that if you take the Chiefs and bet 500 and give the field you can win 1200 because of giving the field. I can't give the link because it is against forum rules. Would you do that? I am thinking about it. It is legal and legit.
No, I would take the field or Bengals lol
-
Today's games are actually more important to the networks, Advertisers etc.... than the Super Bowl because it of course determines the SB participants, and that's where the $$$ is.
So because of that, the Bengals are at a Disadvantage even though they are good enough to win.
Chiefs are favoured by 7 points, the chiefs are the play and maybe tease the game to say 3 points if you want to make it a safer play.
The Rams are the bigger marque team and better, but 49ers beat them 6 times in a row and trends have importance, just ask the Colts about playing in Jacksonville. Lol
I'll still go with the Rams -3.5 but in a lot smaller bet than the chiefs bet.
Small Parlay:
Chiefs -7
Rams -3.5

Sorry to offend you Mr chad72 - but realistically - Josh Allen would have bean the man here at the Colts. It is interesting that most people in this thread said Mayfield, Rosen and Darnold would all be great, however Allen just threw 9 TDs in 2 playoff games. That not too bad right? I have only ever advocated so much for Allen because he is good - you can't deny it.
Diggs, Sanders Knox Davis etc - they are all made better by Josh Allen - Diggs has had career years when working with Allen (I hope this makes sense?)
I guess what I am saying is - people have opinions and sometimes they are right - but to trash their opinion and come back in 3 years and say "whatever dude broken clock right twice a day ya know?" is not a great way to assert your football knowledge on to this great forum we call home.
Thanks for giving my post a like from 4 years ago..... made me and others remember that having a high draft pick in a supposedly deep, talented QB draft was a good time to take a insurance policy on lucks future.
And you showed that you and others had foresight not hindsight.

I don't think the NFL would drop the Thursday night games. They only care about the ratings. Thursday Night Football has been getting over 14 million viewers the past few years.
I agree with Taylor above that only teams coming off a bye week should play in them. But I don't expect the NFL to change anything.

I don't expect them to drop Thursday games either, but at the time of that story the ratings were down.

I was looking and didn't really see the dip in ratings that you mentioned. I may have missed it. The NFL has always been strong even having insignificant games besting NBA playoff games in the ratings quite often. I don't doubt the gambling and fantasy have helped them, but I don't think they were ever in trouble.

Last year, Irsay said he let's Ballard and Frank do their thing, except at QB. He said any decision at QB is an equal part 3-way decision among the three of them.
From everything I've read and seen, following their post Jax debacle meeting, Wentz is gone.
Frank for sure.
What have you read and seen regarding Wentz's apparent departure??
I don't live in Indy and haven't been searching web sites for info.

I was very popular before gambling and fantasy.
The game has been deteriorating....a few years ago it was unwatchable to enough where the ratings went down to that they were thinking about doing away with Thursday night football.
Its product has improved some the last year or two but still long and many stoppages.
As far as betting/Fantasy, that's a major component of sports these days, especially the NFL. More and more states are legalizing sports betting to the delight of NFL who I think partnered up with Draft Kings. On ESPN and other networks the betting lines roll by on the crawler.

QB Joe looks so good... Top 5 if not higher.
Josh Allen is elite too. Hate to say but Colts QB situation looks light years behind.

Waller is such a stud.
And he's such a bargain
I had him in my mock and wanted to convert him to a TE.... Griggs(I think he was still GM) didn't draft him but lord and behold the Ravens did...one of the best drafting teams in NFL and then they planned on making him a TE. They made me so proud but don't know whythey move on from him....they must not have known I had him in my mock

I read that the reason for a Monday night playoff game is that it's very lucrative. Monday football is a way for those betting to cut losses or make even more money. The NFL has deals with online betting services who pay millions to broadcast Monday games. They want to keep their partners/sponsors happy. So the money is the driving force.
The NFL used to discourage gambling, but it's too profitable so they decided to get a piece of the action.
If it wasn't for Gambling and Fantasy, the NFL wouldn't be nearly as popular and watchable.

This almost looks fixed.
It is and you know it Is ( by the football gods of course lol)
Once the Steelers needed the colts to lose this game the season was as good as done, regardless whether the Steelers win vs ravens. Steelers are bad and sometimes even divine intervention doesn't help them lol
-
Steelers are liking this....as are The Football Gods lol
-
TD to TY instead of a Wentz interception.....I'll take it lol
-
Been watching RedZone and very few cut ins until late in half....looks like Wentz finally started making some completions, maybe against soft coverage but still counts( just ask Brady and Daniel Jones lol).
Wentz maybe our weakest link in playoffs.
Notes: Jags are bad... Tua not good.... Stafford having a bad game... Bengals uni's looking good as well as Burroughs & Chase... Looks like I made mistake picking eagles.
Colts need to do what they do best, run Taylor in second half and get the W.

Now the show starts
Ballard FA Grievances Thread (Merge)
in Colts Football
Posted
I said above I haven't paid any attention to the signings so far or even who are the FA's.....but we go through this every year...those who are disappointed and complain about Ballard being cheap and not signing the premium FA's and then those that justify him not paying what other teams are paying. It's now predictable & comical on a annual basis. Lol
As far as how much players get, that's what the market is.... The Colts don't do that, they don't pay market prices,Ballard & Irsay won't overpay for players they need..... and the Colts will continue to be IRRELEVANT.
