  1. Too nice? Nah, heard that with Dungy, Caldwell, Lovie, etc. It simply isn't factual. I defended Frank Reich to the very end, and still believe he is a good coach so I might be biased ever so slightly but this league is ultimately about talent and innovation....mainly talent though. How's McVay looked devoid of a functional QB? How bout the greatest coach of all time? How's he looking? The issues Reich faces now are being overly simplified and we've addressed many over time on these pages. Ultimately this is a results business so he's going to face the music sooner rather than later but it's got nothing to do with niceness or toughness or any of those emo-platitudes. When he had quality in Indy, his teams were better than they should have been.
  2. Stability doesn't hurt but honestly if Stroud's as good as I think he is, he is going to be one of those guys who MAKES coaches rather than the other way round. I think he's that good. Slow should ride this wave as long as he can and cash out nicely
  3. May his soul rest in peace. 41 is too young.
  4. I said in another thread that I wasn't as invested in this rivalry since Tawm shipped off to Florida BUT if this happened, well I couldn't stop myself from LOL for a few hours. I'm not that uninterested, this man denied 18 at least ONE additional SB in Indy.
  5. Rivalry was only legit with Brady (mainly v Manning, then a bit with Luck though barely enough). Clearly nothing burger since he left.
  6. Where are those threads proclaiming Minshew >>> Richardson? That's what I want to know.
  7. Houston have got a QB. No doubts about Stroud. Comeback with 46seconds on the clock. Yeah he's legit.
  8. Yeah he was a fiery player, leader then so I can see it now. He's been coaching toon unlike a certain center. Oops
  9. If the AFCS ends up 4/4 with young QBs, I'm going to be a happy man, this division has been the laughing stock too long. Obviously AR will be the best of the bunch
  10. Yeah Levis aint a problem. Certainly looks like he fits with the group of Stroud and AR ahead of Bryce.
  11. This probably has more to do with the team's fortunes lately but I miss the RCA Dome, I think Lucas Oil isn't quite that that old stadium was in the Noughties and I had some tremendous times at the old stadium. The new one still somehow doesn't quite feel the same yet. Maybe more playoff instances will help....it always does.
  12. He needs to get truly healthy, then get his instincts back. Without that, he's certainly worse than the guys currently starting. Worse than Bobby O who joined the Giants. He's not worth the contract given. With all that said, I'd argue that as long as he's healthy, the only way the instincts come back is by playing. It stinks for him but this is football, it doesn't stop for anyone. Not Luck, not Peyton, and certainly not Shaq.
  13. The guy is supposed to be the next level of offensive coaching. Unfortunately it doesnt matter what you know if you can't lead MEN. His biggest issue was always the soft stuff not what he knew. Either way hopefully other folks get a shot at HC jobs and this guy doesnt keep getting these chances.
  14. It was a major debate though. There was a heavy PR splash selling stories of how Josh had grown up. NcF, I hear your points but it wasn't just the rivalry. It was the risk of hiring that guy who clearly had maturity/leadership issues from that team, a combination of factors that told a story of a GM who wasn't reading the room or seeing things clearly. Combine that with his refusal to build teams a certain way (which he said he had to change last offseason)...well....as you say he gives his detractors ammo. For me, that move is my Ballard legacy at the moment. If AR hits as I think and hope he does, then sure Ballard vaults up to Polian levels. QB changes everything.
  15. Chris Ballard doesn't get enough heat for hiring the Snake. Terrible decision making, and everything else since then has been....watch and see. If AR hits then that's Ballard's saving grace otherwise he's going down as less successful than the prior GM, likability be damned
  16. Nah, that math's wrong. It's around 59 yards a game now where it was 62 yards a game before. It aint what it used to be but that's a difference of 3 yards a game. 3 yards.
  17. It's what the GM wants isnt it? The last guy was same. The cries/complaints go back to the Dungy days. I'm generalizing of course but the systemic issues seem to come from higher than the DC/HC.
  18. Is it Bradley or is it the available personnel?
  19. He likely makes it to the end of year but this Colts defense historically touches its toes against QBs like this. It's a known problem. Gus is a good coach but it does feel a bit like he's spent a long time trying to recreate the legion of boom and that drive hampers his acceptance of reality
  20. Are you sure? I swear I've seen multiple threads here over the last month arguing that he's the future not AR lol
  21. Yeah, I've been looking at where Purdy is for the last 15mins trying to figure out exactly what/how that's even possible.
