  1. When Granson was drafted, my full expectation was that he'd become a true asset in year 3 at the earliest. Like Dallas Clark. I continue to hold onto that expectation. I think Granson will have a good season this year then watch out next season. Folks will wonder where he came out from.
  2. Holder's given the public more on JTs side than anyone else, is that not insider info? Holder (and Mike Chappell) tend to get exclusives from Irsay, is that not insider info? Why is Holder getting pelted for poking at Ballard's faulty logic? Ballard brought up winning 4 games so it's fair to ask what happens if you win 4 games again, how is that not a logical question to follow up with? You dont have to look too far on these pages to see folks complaining about the 'soft' Indy media. Now they're trying to hold the GMs feet to the fire based on his own comments, and folks are talking as if Holder (and Boyd and whoever else) are carrying water for the player and his agent. Odd. If you want to talk Xs and Os and Holder's knowledge of the game, then yeah i'd agree, I actively flee from his analysis, he parrots others talking points and it isnt his strong suit but attacking a journo for doing his/her job seems really unfair. Where else are you (and other Colts fans) expecting to get reporting that you crave from? The national media? Good luck. *Bob Kravitz was let go by the Athletic IIRC.
  3. I'll watch this conference at some point but thanks to all who have summarized. I'm excited to hear about Jaylon Jones. An SEC corner who dropped for special reasons and could be a steal....everyone loves those stories. The Holder thing has been clear almost from the jump - He's got contacts within JTs camp and we all know his history with Miami. Nothing he has done so far is out of pocket. From a Colts fan perspective, it's easy to see why people might think he's biased but he's presenting a side of the story that everyone's asking about. Also, isnt this the same Holder who was dropping exclusives from Jim Irsay and giving the owner's side? The season's about to start, what are CBs expectations for the season ahead? Sorry if i missed it in the comments. We've heard his opinion on several things, i wonder if he lay out clear expectations.
  4. Team not teammates. I read that as ballard/irsay not the players
  5. You don't think the team can function with 3 WRs and 20TEs?
  6. I live in KC and stay very plugged in with football. The comment raised as much questions locally as Irsay's have done in Colts nation and nationally but Andy Reid gets a benefit Irsay doesnt. I understand fully what you're saying. In this instance, it wasnt the case at all. Lets not forget that in Jones' case, that's a top 2 player at his position, with multiple years of influence, at a highly valued position. In KC, the sentiment is Chris Jones might never play another down for the Chiefs. *when you have a QB, you can do things like this and look like a genius.
  7. Irsay isn't eloquent but Andy Reid said similar about Chris Jones i.e. whether he shows up or not, the game goes on. That's pretty much on par with the sentiment Irsay was making i.e. whether you're here or not, alive or not, the game keeps going. Andy Reid made his comment not too long ago
  8. We'll see. It's hard to tank in this league
  9. I doubt it's going to be on Anthony Richardson to break this streak. The main question is whether the Colts defense can stop Trevor Lawrence, and my prediction is he passes for close to 80% completion, over 300 yds, and 3 tuddies. Will the Colts win? Depends, if Lawrence does that and Indy stops the run successfully then we can stick in it and maybe then AR can compete but if the defense isnt making sure the run game is a zero for Jacksonville, there's another opening day loss coming. TL:DR? Lawrence will light up this Colts defense.
  10. That's the thing with GMs. Most of them suck as you say...then a QB arrives and everything else looks fantastic. For Howie, at least when he landed a QB, he knew what to do to build around the guy, in Indy we know firsthand that not every GM knows that, some choose to complain about how the QBs wages hamstring the whole operation.
  11. If he's reinstated a year in, guess who now owns his rights?
  12. Precisely. Wentz served the function the Eagles needed him to and when it was time, Howie assessed him correctly and found a willing buyer. The rep he has is one where he fleeces you if you go up against him, in this business that's the ultimate sign of respect.
  13. I think Howie's probably the best GM in the league. The way he handled the QB issues.....*chef's kiss.
  14. The Eagles are an easy team to dislike if you look even the slightest bit closely Howie Roseman....smh. Good at his job
  15. He's very good on his own merit. I thought it might be hype in '21 even though the flashes were there. In '22 he showed it was very real. The guy is going to come out to more hype than his dad. In 96, Keyshawn was that guy though we'd all pick Marv in hindsight. Next year, Marv jnr likely comes out with the same hype Keyshawn came out with in 96
  16. Like Polian said, this is a garden variety conflict. Player wants to get paid, surprise. The rest of this is "Dallas" or "Days of our lives" playing out. JT wants to get paid, he doesnt care where or who pays him. Colts fans are rightfully hurt because they've invested money and emotions into the player, thats football folks.
  17. Physically, he's obviously a bigger unit but in terms of college play, I find it's really hard to say Junior is better. Marv Snr. was a producer in 1993! A different era of football yet he produced. If we were picking based on just college production, I'd lean Snr. With all that said, Junior is a HECKUVA player. He has every chance to vault to the top of the NFL when he comes in. Same talent level as the best i.e. Jefferson, Chase, those guys. Depends on where he lands and other factors but he's got a chance to be elite and that chance/potential is all you can ask for. His dad is a hall of famer....that's not easy to match.
  18. Right. He also broke exclusives from Irsay. Folks have tried to rationalize it but this has always been JT, he chose violence.
  19. He's presented exclusive information directly from Jim Irsay too FWIW. What's the nuance? He's not writing opinion pieces right?
  20. Me either. Still, I'm not sure why the journalist is getting heat for presenting the player's side and giving everyone some rationale for JT's behavior. This is all JT acting how he believes is right, Holder is doing what journalists do, i'm not sure that's anything to do with ESPN. This is all Jonathan Taylor.
