  1. He's not played in KC or Seattle but Indy shows out when it needs to. Always. Respect to the fans of this franchise.
  2. He's the Alpha on this team. He's had all kinds of QBs throw him the ball and still produces. Yeah he's a #1....he's not an alien like Hill or Jefferson but he's a #1
  3. He's the only non QB nominated for the Heisman this year. College has little to offer him at this point.
  4. The way these contracts work, he's getting top 10 money here or elsewhere.
  5. Loved the hire. Seen nothing to change my mind so far. I can't wait to see him with QB1 for a full season....NFL look out.
  6. He was a walking dead man after the first month. Heck, he was done the minute the owner picked the QB i.e. before he was hired. Good luck to whoever winds up there
  7. Happy Thanksgiving forum! I'll exit this thread with this: I hope Jim Irsay's daughters have been paying close, careful attention to EVERYTHING over the years.
  8. There are things I've come to learn about the media, and once you know them you can't unknow them. Many of us reach an age where we are careful what we put in our bodies, we try to eat right and live right, and extend our lives. The thing is what we put in our minds is even more important and media + advertising drives a lot of that. Any media (especially mainstream) should be consumed with extreme care. It has its uses but largely the media is a vicious whale. I have no disappointment but only because I expect it. Irsay knows the game, I'm not sure how he got suckered into this.
  9. Exactly but look at how the media is spinning it, and how he's having to defend himself. The media shenanigans. Irsay ought to have known how this would all unfold.
  10. Same here. He is extremely ineloquent, very far from PC but that man has a kind heart FWIW and if there ever was a billioinaire who was kind, it's Jim Irsay. I wish he'd say more and swing his power more, he is never frightened by political correctness. On this though, he needs to own it....he was kite high and doing illegal stuff, that's the baseline. I love Jim Irsay but he never ever learned to read the room. When you got money like him, maybe you don't need to. I'd rather him than any of the other 31 owners, and probably more than any other billionaire walking this country as owner of this franchise.
  11. You and @NFLfan make some excellent points. The dynamic you're looking for and referencing is the power dynamic. When a group or member of a group with more power says something, it carries a different effect from a lesser group saying same. Similar to when a more powerful country attacks a people or commits genocide, or goes to war. Irsay's words have a gravity that the black athlete's words don't. We have these conversations every time an athlete cries for a new contract. There's rich, and there's RICH. One got serious weight, the other is still likely figuring out how to spend that paper. I'm not sure how deep to dig here but the reason for the perceived double standard is pretty clear.
  12. He could have bounced like Gilmore. He could have complained. He could have flamed out. Respect to 99. This guy has never wavered on being a true warrior and consistently one of the best at his position. San Fran fans still rave about him. Good move from Ballard, much regard for this player.
  13. Irsay doesn't shy away from anything. He is just one ineloquent man, every Colts fan oughta have clocked that by now. Needs to be said though, Jim, you were doing some illegal nonsense while high out of your mind. Own it.
  14. Best of luck to the Maniac, enjoyed watching him play for the team. I wouldn't be averse to seeing him regain health and excelling elsewhere at all.
  15. First, he comped Downs to Tyreek Hill from both their time in KC before talking TY. These are not small names. The great thing is most of the fans have seen this too. Happy fans abound
  16. The owner also had some weird comments today...seems he wished he had Stroud now. Madness. I thought Jim Irsay was the crazy one in this league lol
  17. He's bad enough for fans to start remembering the other backup from UT. He was good enough till the word got out on him, teams are daring him to do work and with receivers open everywhere, yet the guy's jitterbugging left and right. You can't ignore what your eyes see. And yes, I mentioned he's a backup for a reason. That reason's also why I think dreaming playoffs is a big dream for me...yet not impossible.
  18. I swore to myself that all I'd care about this season would be Anthony Richardson's development yet here I am in this thread nodding my head. Ultimately I can't get over how bad Gardner Minshew is. He's a guy for the occasional fill-in not a main star. So while we have a chance, I think we're probably a .500 team +/- one game because of the QB, and that record's not going to get us in the playoffs in the AFC this year. So while I'm following along and loving the work Shane Steichen is doing, I just can't bring myself to dream playoff, have you not seen the QB?
  19. If BB gets fired over this game, I'm going to need help with stopping the never-ending laughter. Of all the Colts teams, QBs, and performances to do that....this was the worst of all.
  20. Ryan Tannehill is the best QB in that city but I understand why they feel they should play Levis.
  21. Yeah. Stroud's got the experience and processing over AR now in addition to the mechanics and accuracy but AR genuinely scares me with how good he could be. This kid is going to teach many people religion, they'll find one god or another when he gets going...they already do. AR may never be Stroud in terms of accuracy but with the other abilities (the arm, the legs, the endless ceiling), he'll go as high as his health and work ethic take him.
  22. How was your meetup folks? What was the game like? Pumped you all got to experience that. I saw a soccer game in that city a few decades ago, Eintracht Frankfurt v VfB Stuttgart I think it was.
  23. He's gutting it out, not sure he's 100% yet
  24. I still cannot believe there were/are folks insisting Minshew >>> Richardson Ugly W but a dub is a dub
