  1. That is what I went with too. It was a tough call. The AFC South is last.
  2. This may have been covered already in this thread, but I'm feeling lazy. Which team is losing a home game in this?
  3. Cincy Baltimore Pit Cleveland
  4. Bills Jets Dolphins Pats
  5. Tough call. The Colts haven't won their division since 2014. A poor division at that. So that would tell many that the state is poor, but they have a high first round drafted QB with lots of potential. If he show promise, the state could be good.
  6. I was a kid growing up in the St. louis area. First season I remember well was the 1982 Cardinals team. They won the World series and played small ball. They stole 200 bases that year. Keith Hernandez, Ozzie Smith, Willie McGee, Lonnie Smith, Darryl Porter, Jauquin Andujar, Bruce Sutter and others.. Next was 1985. The lost in the world series but it was close. They stole 314 bases that year, In addition to others named, They had Terry Pendalton, Andy Van Slyke, Vince Coleman and others. Great team. I'll go with 2011 next. The world series run and win was awesome. David Freeze was the MVP, but there was also Pujols, Lance Berkman, Molina, Holliday and Chris Carpenter. I have the World series on DVD. Maybe I will pull it out.
  7. I won't throw a guess out there because there are too many variables. He may be a bust and out of the league before his rookie contract is done. That isn't that much of a stretch. He may also prove to be an elite QB in the league. Or he may be a Fields type of QB where potential keeps him going.
  8. If he had 250 more yards per season, that would be 2500 for his first ten years and if he played an additional 3 years, that would have added at least another 3000 yards.
  9. My thinking was that he would have around 250 more yards each season and would not have retired early like he did. His last 3 seasons he ran for 1,553 yards, 2053 yards and 1,491 yards.
  10. I like the trade for Toppin. He wasn't getting minutes behind Randle in NY. He is a high potential player. Shooting 34% from 3 is impressive for him. "Tyrese Haliburton is drinking the Obi Toppin Kool-Aid. New York fans know the feeling well, dating back to 2020 when the Knicks selected Toppin with the No. 8 overall pick. His Knicks career ends as a disappointment, despite flashing bits of talent when given significant minutes to show off his skills. In the final game of the 2021-2022 season, Toppin scored a career-high 42 points with 10 rebounds on 16-28 shooting and 6-14 from 3-point range. Toppin is known for being a strong dunker, resulting in a winning performance at the 2022 NBA Dunk Contest. The Pacers hope to use that skill, as they played extremely fast last season: Indiana ranked third in pace last season behind only the Golden State Warriors and San Antonio Spurs. Haliburton envisions using Toppin’s athleticism to add to their fastbreak-heavy offense. Their efficiency in that setting helped Indiana achieve 18.1 fastbreak points per game, the most in the league." https://nypost.com/2023/07/02/tyrese-haliburton-has-big-plans-for-his-new-obi-toppin-partnership/
  11. I would have the 1964 St. Louis Cardinals in there. Bob Gibson led the pitching staff. Tim McCarver Lou Brock Ken Boyer Curt Flood Mike Shannon They even had Bob Uecker as a backup catcher. The 1964 Cardinals are best remembered for beating the mighty Yankees in the World Series and ending their 44-year domination. New York had played in 14 of the last 16 World Series and were (99-63)—the No. 1 seed. The Cardinals (93-69) were seeded No. 4. The electrifying Bob Gibson was 3-0 and pitched a complete Game 7 to conquer the Dynasty. The Yankees, meanwhile, wouldn’t perform in another World Series until 1976.
  12. Barry ran behind poor offensive lines. I think he ran like he had to. yes, with the Cowboys line he would have rand for more yards.
  13. I have Emmitt around the 5th best RB of all time. Sanders is number 1 in my book.
  14. It won't be a good season. 3-6 wins is all they will muster.
  15. and I do not blame the NFL for it. Gambling gives an avenue for rigged games and that could ruin the sport. MLB feels the same way which is why Rose is not in the HOF.
  16. Not a scrub, but learning from the bench as many great QB's have done. I also do not think Irsay, Steichen or Ballard are willing to throw the season away if the team is winning. AR may be the starter day 1 and that would be fine. It means he won the job in training camp, not that he is the second best on the team but Irsay wants to lose in order to give him playing time.
  17. The National Football League continues to deal with issues related to gambling. The NFL is expected to hand down season-long suspensions this week to a "handful of players" for violating the league’s gambling policy, according to ESPN. Indianapolis Colts cornerback and kick returner Isaiah Rodgers is expected to be one of the players suspended for the season, per ESPN’s report. TOM BRADY REACTS TO RYAN MALLETT'S DEATH: 'WE LOST A GREAT MAN' Rodgers has been the subject of a league investigation into a possible violation of the NFL’s gambling policy, which includes possibly gambling on Colts games. In a June 5th social media post, Rodgers admitted to an "error in judgment." "Addressing the current reports, I want to take full responsibility for my actions," Rodgers wrote. "I know I have made mistakes and I am willing to do whatever it takes to repair the situation. The last thing I ever wanted to do was to be a distraction to the Colts organization, my coaches, and my teammates. I’ve let people down that I care about. "I made an error in judgment and I am going to work hard to make sure that those mistakes are rectified throughout the process. It’s an honor to play in the NFL and I have never taken that lightly. I am very sorry for all of this." The league suspended three players indefinitely in April and gave two others six-game suspensions for violating the NFL’s gambling policy. https://www.foxnews.com/sports/nfl-expected-hand-down-season-long-suspensions-handful-nfl-players-gambling-violations-report
  18. I do understand where you are coming from, but if Minshew is playing well and they are playoff bound, I would leave Minshew in there. I think AR get in there as soon as the team doesn't look good, whether the record is 2-4, 4-6 or 6-8. But if they are 4-2, 6-4 or 8-6 and Minshew is playing well, they need to play for winning this season.
  19. I understand it may be skewed, but we all know RB's typically do not hold up and have long productive careers. I'd be good with letting Taylor go in 3 years (including 2 franchise tags if he is performing well).
  20. I do think BHam wins the game. Their kicker will be trying out for some NFL teams I would think. He was 14 of 15 kicking field goals with the lone miss from over 50 yards. 35/35 on the XP.
  21. That may happen but I would prefer to franchise him. Of course it depends on what kind of year he has this season. If they franchise him for 2 years, he would be going into year 7 after that. RB's have the shortest careers of all football players.
