  1. I get it, but what Marvin lacked in size he made up with insane ability.

    Cruz doesn't.

Route running.. Cruz's route running is good, not Marvin good, and I'm not sure there is ANYONE in the league with Marvin's route running ability, but you don't have a 1500 yard season without decent ability. Besides, as long as Reggie is here he will hold that #1 until he's gone.

Regardless all of this is speculation anyways...

  2. I know everyone sees Mingo and loves that athleticism, but the guy scares me to death. Reminds me of when Golston was taken by the Jets. Not Golston's combine was much better than Mingo's and the reason he rose up the boards so much to #6, but the two have one thing in common. Great athletes who don't have a great motor. With all of the talent Mingo possesses, I just never saw games where he stood out. Just my opinion, but I remember when his name was on last years list of picks to watch for this year's draft, and every game I watched, he just never seemed to jump out at you. Golston would be great one game, and non existent the next for Ohio State. I always want a player who has College production. Same reason why I would have never taken Poe last year at #11. Just my thoughts on Mingo, but as most have said, I don't think he will drop to us. The reason why, teams and scouts love athleticism, and fall in love with it, and forget everything else many times.

Gholston was a freak and didn't start playing football until late in highschool. The guy had all of the tools to be a successful NFL player but NEVER did he do what Rex wanted him to do which was be an OLB. 14 sacks his SR year at Ohio State and the ONLY college player to get sacks on Jake Long at Michigan. Had he been drafted to a 4-3 team I think he would have still been playing but I think overall he gave up once he was given up on.

  3. Somehow, I think the math is off here...

I don't see how we have two #2's, two #4's and two #5's??

Currently, we don't have a two. Nor do we have a five. Also, to your re-sign list, I'm pretty sure you want to resign more than those three... how about Pat McAfee?

    Just thinking out loud......

See #1... That's where he gets the rest of his picks from..

  4. IMO I feel that it would be a complete waste of Dwayne's talent to put him in a fullback position. The only way I could see him being used is as some sort of an option pass out of the back, still Allen is better suited on the end of the line. Allen showed why he was the Mackey award winner. Put Fleener in the slot, or line him up too but get Allen out of the backfield. IMO right now Allen is more important than Fleener.

I still say put Saunders at FB. 270+ lbs and has proven he can catch and block.

  5. He was average at best at Auburn, nothing great in Man, As of today he is our #2 Corner in a Man cover scheme and he clearly lacks recovery speed, ask yourself, Do I want Powers as my number 2 Corner? I think he is a pure Zone Corner

Actually there were quite a few reports that came out after Jerraud was drafted saying that had Jerraud been closer to 6' he could have been a low 1st rounder. He is NOT 5'10 and is actually around 5'8. Seen him at a Pacer game 2 years ago and a friend of mine was virtually shoulder to shoulder with him and he's not 5'10 and all he kept saying was "man he's little" haha...

  6. I was recently reading an article on Stampede Blue, about how Marvin is a shoe in first ballot HoF according to Bill Polian. here is the link.

    http://www.stampedeblue.com/2013/2/25/4027634/bill-polian-marvin-harrison-is-a-first-ballot-hall-of-famer

I love debating HoF. And its been awhile since I've debated Marvin. So here we go.

I dont believe Marvins is a first ballot guy. I believe Marvin will follow the Carter route, and it will take awhile....

    Player A is Marvin Harrison.

Player A: 1102rec/14608 Total Yards/128Total TDs and played 190 games in 13 seasons...Owns all the franchise receiving records, and his franchise has 2 receivers already in the HoF...8x Pro Bowler, 3x All-Pro and won a SB....and he caught 87% of his TDs from Peyton Manning.....

Player B: 1000rec/12511 Total Yards/86 Total TDs and played 217 games in 14 seasons (although basically sat out his entire rookie year)....Owns all the franchise receiving records, and his franchise has 2 receivers already in the HoF...4x Pro Bowler, has won 2 SBs, and a SB MVP...and he caught 47% of his TDs from the teams best QB....

Marvin trumps player B by 102rec/ 2097yds/ 42TDs...And although Player B played more games, his team still attempted 443 less passes through both players respected careers...Player B is arguably the greatest blocking WR of all time...

Is there a large enough margin between these two players that 1 is a first ballot HoF, while the other is possibly not even going to make the HoF? Or perhaps both make it?

    Player B is Hines Ward

I know you keep bringing up 443 less passes, but from your stats that you provided Hines played in 27 more games. Had Marvin been given 27 more games this isn't even a discussion.
  7. we arent taking a CB with the first pick and our No.2 pick IS a corner...Vonate Davis

..We dont have a huge need at CB......Our needs begin and end in the lines.

Have you looked at who the Colts have under contract at DB right now? Vontae is the ONLY one of those whose even seen the field. DB is a HUGE need and right up there with O-line as of right now.

  8. I wouldnt mind banks as our first pick, but if we miss him and If milliner slips we should grab him. Even if he's recovering from surgery. We can't be to sure what we are doing in the draft until we start signing free agents

That would be a pipe dream. Even with the surgery I doubt Milliner makes it out of the top-10. I like Banks and Rhodes. Either or I would be happy with for that first round pick.

  9. I had the same thought when I first saw the schedule but then it was explained that there is some rule that has to do with so many west coast trips in one season that trumps the rotation schedule. Based on this we will play Arizona on the road while we have Seattle at home.

    I stand corrected then..

  10. I never mentioned 2009. We also play SD and SF away, so they have adjusted the schedule for 2013.

The rotation is every 4 years so regardless if you brought it up or not we play the NFC West this year and will play our home/away schedule against them opposite of what we played them in 09'.

  11. No, we play Seattle at home, and the Cards away....

The rotation doesn't work like that especially with us having played this rotation that way last time. We will play Seattle there and Arizona here this time.

  12. I watched quite a few Atlanta games this year, and on base packages they were always 3-4. Abraham and Biermann were standing OLBs.

Sorry, but no they aren't. Atlanta doesn't even have a true NT that even plays. Mike Nolan stated when he was brought in last year that they will remain a 4-3 defense with some hybrid looks.

  13. I hope so... I don't think Dallas was using him right this year... He was their #1 corner coming into the season and then ran his mouth and ended up their nickel guy. I know he didn't rate highly on PFF this year, but Williams is a clown, IMO, Shields is a RFA, DRC has been discussed ad nauseum, Smith is not very good...

I'd say Lewis is a decent candidate, along with Jenkins, Houston, Toler, and Grimes/Owens from ATL. Pacman and Talib are interesting options, but have off the field and work ethic concerns.

    We should resign Butler.

I'd be happy with Rhodes or Banks in the draft, as well.

Jenkins, I don't believe, lost his spot due to his mouth, but because he had shoulder surgery before the draft and the Cowboys didn't have much of a choice but to go after Claiborne. They had just signed Carr to go with Jenkins, but again the injury to Jenkins caused him to miss all of camp and the preseason. Claiborne and Carr were ready to go. Jenkins got moved to the nickel and never really made it back outside. I don't think his mouth was his cause to be dropped in the depth chart.
