  1. So an Andy Dalton lead team is a contender and we aren't? And we improved in the other positions besides QB where we were weak last year.

The colts don't get any love haha:(

Andy Dalton doesn't have to be a stud for that team to win. That defense will carry them a LONG ways, much like Baltimore did with Flacco. Cincinatti could easily be a representative of the AFC.

  2. He got burned A LOT and people think he's good because of flashy ball plays.

He did, but PFF, I believe is the article I read this morning, did a decent article on him basically stating that he absolutely struggled in zone coverage, yet excelled when he was in man coverage. They said his issues in zone coverage were that he was overly aggressive and also got caught looking in the back field way too much. He did limit Larry Fitzgerald to 8 catches on 21 targets, and we all know Larry doesn't need a whole lot of help in getting the football. He did limit Brandon Marshall and Golden Tate as well I believe. However, for playing those 3 guys well, he did let a lot of mid to lower level guys abuse him.

I guess St. Louis has a new DC and it sounds like him and Finnegan will see more man coverage opportunities so that should help him. Once he cleans up his technique and they put him in his comfort zone, I think he'll really start to shine.

  3. Of course, but if people turn aggressive and violent while drinking, it probabaly would be wise for them to just not drink at all. Doesn't make it any less ok. Drinking is not a good excuse to beating ones wife and kid, physically confront law enforcement or starting random fights at clubs with people who aren't even doing anything.

    Completely agree.

  4. Ed Johnson was a big one. Sweet Pea Burns was another as was McAfee, heck Keith even dropped the same i am colts player line too. When you have a 53 man roster you are always going to have a knuckle head or two. With that said Grigson and Pagano do seem more willing to take chances on them than Polian or Dungy. Still as has been pointed out Polian and Dungy had knuckle heads too.

I thought Darrel Reid did the same thing as well.

  5. Been to college, also partied @ OSU, Bloomington, Ball State and Lafayette.  I don't recall ever stiff arming any cops and running from the police.  I probably was worse in high school than college however.  I still know plenty of party people and can't recall them getting into any physical and verbal altercations with cops.  Threatening law enforcement isn't really in your typical average everyday college regiment.  Drinking, sure perhaps an occasional scuffle sure.

The biggest alteration I got into was getting into it with a very obnoxious bouncer, after the altercation an officer came up to us and told us to leave now before we got arrested and I obliged, wasn't a very difficult decision to make at all.

Threatening law enforcement, or pulling a Joe Lefeged running around with firearms wasted running from law enforcement really isn't typical of a your average person.

    Alcohol affects everyone differently.

  6. really?, i recall 4 players arrested on alcohol related charges in the same year Pat Mcafee was arrested

According to the police report, McAfee was asked whether he was swimming in the canal and answered, "I am not sure." When he was asked why he was wet, McAfee responded, "It was raining." When he was asked where his shirt was, McAfee said, "In the water." And when he was asked how much he had to drink, McAfee said, "A lot 'cause I'm drunk."

Not surprisingly, the Colts found no humor in it. They've now had four players arrested on alcohol-related charges this year.

I laugh everytime I read the report... Classic :funny:

  7. Lefedged will make the team over Asante and Tevasue will be on the practice squad. Marshay green has been good on special teams but not so much in coverage, will most likely carry 6 CB's. Price is the only CB on the team that has the size and speed to play on the outside if Toler or Vontae misses anytime, i think he'll make the team as the 5th CB but eventually beat Vaughn out for the 4th spot.

I doubt Tevasue is PS eligible. He dressed and played in more than half the games, I believe, last year.

  8. Off topic, but IMO Weeden is much better than a mediocre QB. If he'd been 5 years younger I think he'd have been drafted before RG3...certainly before Tannehill.

Weeden drafted before RG3, under the those circumstances? I just can't see that happening then either. Griffin, to me, is still a better passer and not to mention everything else he brings to the table. I do agree he would have been drafted before Tannehill and also agree that Weeden is actually a decent QB.

  9. I know a lot of people think the game is a lock, but you still have to play them.  Oakland may be the worst team in the league, their O line is a mess.  Yet - Any Given Sunday...

Terrelle Pryor does give them an extra dimension and at the very least he's going to give our D a workout.  We can also look at it as practice for the 49ers game, as far as containing an athletic QB.

Full disclosure, I'm a Buckeye through and through, and I watched every game he played at OSU.  He's faster than Cam and about as accurate (not very).  He can wear out a D by himself.  I hope he's successful at Oakland.

I still think we'll beat them but I won't be surprised if they move the ball on us.

I would be in nickel A LOT and have Landry completely locked in on Pryor. Fellow Buckeye fan here as well, and I'm glad to see him getting time and showing what he can do, but I do agree his O-line in Oakland isn't going to do him any favors. Still a shame Troy Smith was sick that first year Baltimore drafted him. I think had he not been, Flacco wouldn't be a Raven right now.

  10. I thought Joe Reitz did just fine blocking at left tackle when Castanzo left. I am not a bit worried.

I'm still confused at how people keep overlooking this. Reitz came in and didn't miss a beat.

  11. Our fatties on the D line are doing a good job against the run but are not getting much push on the QB. Good passing teams may give us fits this year.

Pagano isn't showing his hand at blitz packages yet. Once the season starts and the pass rush isn't up to par THEN we can make assumptions, but right now is premature.

  12. :rulez:

Still say our system's the best for him.

Especially when you look at depth behind Davis/Toler/Butler, I'm sure he should have no problems taking Cassius Vaughn's spot away. I would be ALL for that.
  13. Too small of a WR, teams can take smallish WR's out of the game by pressing them off the line of scrimmage. He'll make a great #2 or 3 WR but to be a #1 you have to be bigger, great route runner, and be able to go over the middle for the tough catches.

Marvin wasn't much bigger than TY and he held down the #1 spot for a LONG time. Marvin was also a precise route runner who knew how to create separation. If TY can get close to the route running of Marvin, I don't see why he couldn't be a #1.
