The first game of the year isn't going to make or break anyone.
-
No, probably won’t at all. Both of these decisions are pretty small ootstoes. Paye had his option for 2025 picked up & Sanchez is a punter being paid middle of the pack $. Doibt Either of these are on anyone’s radar.

Chris Ballard on Pat McAfee Show about the draft

What in the world were you watching? Brents projects to be very good. -
Not sure why we'd keep 5 TEs.
-
Everyone drafted these past 3 days needs to do it on the field. What, are we not supposed to talk about draft prospects until next January when they've all had a full season under their belt?

Colts pick Anthony Gould WR Oregon State

Who cares -
Except the glaring hole at starting cb. Right now we are slated to start an udfa talent coming off an achilles tear.

Not what I heard. Short arms and better suited for guard.

What on earth are you even babbling about? The Houston Texans are in no better position than the Indianapolis Colts are. If i'd be "salty" about any team, it would be a team that's much better than the Houston Texans. The only one in this exchange coming across as anything, is you as a delusional Texan fanboy.

Not really. They were the worst franchise in the NFL for several years, and also traded their franchise qb, in order to accumulate a truckload of premium picks. Nothing groundbreaking about that strategy....anyone could pull it off. The NFL rewards the worst teams. They actually have to play a real schedule in 2024, teams may actually gameplan for then, and i'd imagine they won't have 3-4 games handed to them on a silver platter as they did in 2023, where they still only went 10-7. They will be one of the 20 average to slightly above average, .500ish teams next year, and nothing more.

Luck has no character whatsoever and deserved to be boo'd off the field. He should be blacklisted from all things Colts for life.

Rising up the ranks so fast? They weren't exactly the SF 49ers out there in 2023. They were no better than we were, which was pretty average. And they did so with a "special" qb, whereas we did so with a backup. Stroud hasn't shown anything to confirm he can survive if Slowik leaves; he's never played for anyone but Slowik.
-
Much easier to stand out when 60% of the league was without their starting qb this past season. Ryans is a cheerleader who is about as much in tune to Houston's offense as Campbell is to Detroits. Less so, because Campbell actually played offense. Both those squads better hope their OCs never leave.
-
The same way Houston won half their games this past season.
-
Once Slowik leaves, likely after next season, Stroud won't have his pick wide open receivers to throw to, with tons of time in the pocket to do so, any longer. The scheme is what makes Houston dangerous, not the qb. He'll still be a good qb post Slowik, but in no way shape or form is he "special". Put him on Carolina and he sucks just as bad as Young did. Slowik is the brains behind that entire operation. If Houston is ever gonna do anything, it better be next year before Slowik leaves. Not to mention Houston won't be playing a last place schedule next year. They'll actually have to play against top defenses next season. And you saw how well Slowik/Stroud was able to handle Baltimore's defense in the playoffs.

Waiver wire pick ups discussion (MERGE) Title Updated pg 10.
MacDee1975 replied to GoColts8818's topic in Colts Football
Not really. There's young and/or proven drafted talent at literally every position on this football team. Expansion teams are usually full of veteran castoffs. This Colts team is one of the youngest in the NFL and barely has anyone over the age of 30, if anyone. Whether that young talent pans out is another question, but that's the case for every team in every sport that has ever existed when dealing with young players. -
Now that i've seen the final roster I feel I was overly optimistic. Jacksonville 45 Colts 3

It's about time. WInfree did more in one preseason game than Strachan did his entire career. -

Because he wasn't drafted, didn't look good in the preseason on the field, couldn't crack 2nd string of an incredibly weak group of guards even when 2 of those guards got injured, he already got cut. Those are 4 reasons I say he's not good enough. I mean, I don't understand your stance. The Colts, a team in desperate need of guards, got rid of him......even though he's an NFL caliber player? -

Or.....he's not good enough. Just like is the case for the thousands of undrafted players that weren't good enough to make it in all the prior NFL seasons.
