Asking people sarcastic questions like this one:
Do you know why adults always ask little kids what do you wanna be when they grow up? They are looking for ideas about possible career choices themselves. HA! HA!

Now, Mr. Whiley always refers to himself in the 3rd person. Bob hates this. Bob loves that sort of thing. Also, another forum member, Blood ON The Tracks, informed me that a character on "Seinfeld" named "Jimmy" used this comedic device first.</div><div> </div><div>Why do I do this? Simple really. I always thought that speaking in the 3rd person is a great comical device to act as though a person is observing life's events from a distance above it all like a near death experience almost as if you are watching someone else live vicariously through you. In a nutshell, I am paying homage to Bob & Jimmy because I have a fondness for brilliant comedians that make you think & are kind of like the protest singers of my generation George Carlin, Bill Maher etc. etc.</div>

...Satire is always used as a clever device not to distance themselves from reality, but to show society that they do give a d**n about the world around them & they really want to change it for the better for everyone. Humor also entails UNDERSTATING THE OBVIOUS or something we all know to be true whether we care to admit it or not. Humor is based on the premise of surprise & repetition is the death of surprise.

That is why I have such profound admiration for comedian George Carlin because really did give a genuine d**n about the homeless, a livable wage, a strong economic country spine & backbone, veterans, the dangers of debt/fiscal slavery, liberty vs. security, and the English language & how often it is misinterpreted, misused, or completely taken out of context. The man is a sheer genius & I revere this man!!!

Linda, I know that you are not a fan of "dumb" blond jokes, but no person is above reproach or good natured teasing. I myself love a sarcastic disability joke more than anybody myself.
