  1. just amazed by my 15 year olds irrational fear of the dark which was a huge problem during a long power outage last night.

    1. MAC

      MAC

Perhaps it's an entirely rational fear, did ya ever think of that, huh, huh? lol

We were dark for a full week after the recent hurricane. Your world gets reduced to the length of your flashlight beam, which can feel a bit claustrophobic if you dwell on it. Fortunately we were too busy thinking about how cold, hungry, dirty, bored, frustrated and depressed we were to get to claustrophobia. Perhaps in week two. :)

Right after I read this last evening, our electricity went off and the little ones were scared....I am not a fan of pitch dark, but don't get 'skeered.'

I would if I was in MAC's position for long periods at a time.....

    3. MIColtsFan

      MIColtsFan

sorry about the MAC, I hope all is well now and life is back to normal? That was a scary storm for sure. I just don't know what she thinks is there in the dark that isn't in the light, but she was pretty funny. I was up all night worrying about the candles.

  2. Dear Texans and/or Broncos... please make sure the Pats are NOT in this years super bowl! Thanks much

Anytime the old AFCE boys go down is a good day for me. Still can't stand the East.

Yup, the Broncos are poised to do some damage in the Playoffs...I was wrong Sunday, but the Ravens are officially done this weekend. Broncos vs NE as it should be...A Great Matchup!!!

    4. MIColtsFan

      MIColtsFan

rivalry or no, just not a Pats fan.... the Texans are rivals, but darn it, something I like about those guys, so far they've stayed classy and are a good opponent. I have to agree with MAC it would be a good reflection for the Colts if they win, considering we beat them (almost twice, teehee) but who can resist the fun it will be to see PM beat up on the Pats? My call is a Broncos vs. 49ers SB

  3. heard a funny one today.... 3 guys walk into a bar, named Ben, Jay and Eli .....to watch the play offs :)

The p/b cookies with plain M&M's came out great. Wanted to do the oatmeal/choco chip with M&M peanut or p/b but was out voted by a non voting member. Baked it just oatmeal/choco chip. Just wondering how a non voting member can out vote me as I was the only one voting! The power of wives!!!!!!!

He already fired me for drawing a large horse in Colts colors eating a cheese head on his white board after that game. Bears let me down. I get fired a lot during football season. ;)

I've never met your boss personally, but clearly you have better tastes in superior football winning franchises my friend. :) "Discount Double Check This Boss!" Only Teasing MCF...

  7. I was ringing a salvation army bell today and Gary Hogeboom put money in the red kettle on my shift! It all relates to football. :) Have a great weekend, I'll be watching the Colts from the edge of my seat Sunday afternoon.

    1. Nadine

      Nadine

my daughter has a rule, if a bell ringer shows some 'flair' we give them whatever spare change we have. Today the bell ringer said "merry christmas and welcome to wally world" lol, gave him my change

Thank you MCF for donating your free time in the true meaning of Christmas. You are a very kind & compassionate person. :) All my friends on here know the importance of thinking of those less fortunate than themselves all year round. The most important commodity you can give is not money, but time...

    3. MIColtsFan

      MIColtsFan

haha, Nadine, I'll remember to add some flare :) right said SW1, time, talent and treasure..in that order everyone can help make their community a little better. I'm a firm believer of "it takes a village"

SW....I love real trees, but they are dangerous if you do not stay up with them.....I remain very artificial myself.....in trees that is....never been accused of being that in life :)

    3. MIColtsFan

      MIColtsFan

my real tree needs vacuumed again! a spider was making a web between a gift bags handles! argh! I think I brought home spider tree. It's very tiny, but still eeeeeeekkkkkk when the kids are grown, I think I'll switch to a real artificial. :)

"I remain very artificial myself." Hey, I thought I was the only SAP around here. Just Kidding Buddy!!! Take Care Brent. :D

  9. The little monster that could!!!!!!!! regardless of where the seasons ends for the Colts, they have played this season with heart and have rose above all the critics, rookies and vetrans alike!

    3. MAC

      MAC

Spiders be the good guys - just don't look too closely. I ignore them if possible, move them outside if not.

But I'm actually having trouble getting past the first line. Lets review:

You were "vacuuming the Christmas tree"? LOL

    4. MIColtsFan

      MIColtsFan

@SW1, yes legit, I have physical reaction to spiders, I can't control, terrified no matter how large or small, it takes all I have to been able to approach to kill it... @MAC the vacuum is my best weapon in the spider wars. :)

"was forced to watch Cowboys/Browns over time, blah." Oh My God MCF! I think that reality falls under Geneva Convention protocol and international torture. Are you okay? It can take an enormous toll on a person's psyche being forced to watch the Cowboys like stress positions, sleep deprivation, or water boarding. Ha! Ha! Just Kidding! :)

    3. MIColtsFan

      MIColtsFan

haha SW1, it was certainly not OK.. I finally got over it LOL. that was rough.. funny thing is I knew I was going to my Dad's to watch with him and my brother so I did not set my DVR to record my Sunday ticket...gggrrr..my fault. :)
    4. southwest1

      southwest1

I'm glad that you are okay my friend, but trauma counselors are available at a moments notice on speed dial if any lingering effects of your horrific incident still persist. HA! HA! It's not your fault that you forgot to set your DVR. Blame it on your brother anyway. Siblings have been doing that since the beginning of time. A tried & true method that always works. :D

That can certainly be a tense time for both you and your daughter MCF. Just get a good nights rest, tell her you love her no matter what happens, & 4 years from now when she's in a good college mapping out her life & career goals none of this will matter anymore & you will all look back at this time & have a good laugh. She will do perfectly fine & perform admirably well with flying colors IMO. Good Luck! :)

  19. whoohoo another great win! What a crazy game with all those flags flying. I felt a little bad for the Jags, just a little! ;) I sure hope Mathis is back for Sunday. The D did great, but I just miss Robert!

    2. southwest1

      southwest1

I agree MCF. I wanna see Mathis back on the field soon too. I didn't feel sad for the Jags. Does that make me a bad person? We are supposed to smash our division rivals. I did feel sorry for MJD though. Does that count for anything?

    3. MIColtsFan

      MIColtsFan

no surfing for me.. but there is a huge surf movement here called "unsalted" ...menacing is a good description for the Big Lake. We learn from an early age here to respect the water, rip tides are no joke, every summer too many deaths.. if the flag is red, don't go in!!!
