  1. I'll get that pot stirring, you bet.. I just don't get how some don't question what seems so obviously wrong to me, I don't accept.. I will question.

...... and to continue this thought, I am not saying I agree with it, just wondering if that has happened? I am sure there are some athletes who's parents may not attend such events, so what are they supposed to do?

    3. MIColtsFan

      MIColtsFan

I wish then it would just be easy, but on week nights parents can only be in 3 or 4 places at once, LOL.. no the district just thinks it's a savings, the parents are banding together, I think we will get this changed, but it seems it will have to be sport by sport, not school wide.. the only team currently bussed both ways in the football team and the parents and fans DO all attend those, but they get a bus back, in fact, HAVE to ride the bus back for "team meeting"

    4. Gramz

      Gramz

It's really INSANE thinking to bus them ONE WAY....

haha, @Brent, not sure if you would of liked this weekend.. Friday night (like) High School Football, we won! and the fly over by the U.S. Coast Guard in there cool helicopter was chill inducing! Saturday night, sleep over with six 12 year olds (not sure this is a like for you)- swimming and sunset at the beach, made tshirts, nails, movie, little sleep :).. Sunday = couch, football, tired :)

Gatorade, cheerleaders, and the cheer of the crowd. It doesn't get any better than that IMO. Paradise on Gridiron Grass. Let's get the freight train rollin' & do some defensive damage & good old fashioned INTIMIDATION 101.

I do feel sorry for those who suffer from high pollen counts and allergies in general. Winter is really your only season of relief. Hang in there everyone. I feel your pain. Okay, in actuality, I don't literally. I was simply trying to emphasize with those who face this harsh reality every year.

  8. no Colts for me, guess my NFL pkg does not include preseason! WHAT???! saw replays of Luck, Collie and Brown in action, but how did Mathis and Freeney look? not one replay for defense..held to 3? seems pretty good?

No, Sunday Ticket doesn't show pre-season games, but if you have Directv than you should have NFL network - which broadcasts ALL the preseason games for all the teams. Often three times each. Sometimes it's not until wierd hours (I dvr them) but the Colts were on live. Channel 212.

    3. MIColtsFan

      MIColtsFan

I checked NFL Ntwk during the time, it was the Bills! No THX.. did not think to set DVR for possibility of Colts game, I was still wrapped up in the Olympics :)Going to search the guide for the next preseason. I do not want to miss another one!@Nobody tech savy people probably watch online :)

    4. MAC

      MAC

I just programmed mine. In my area the Colts are on NBC live. The channel 212 showings are on the 22nd at 3:00am and 4:00pn eastern time. I have no idea whether they show different things in different regions. Usually I just move through the listings until I find a showing, and then bring up the box that shows the rest of the showings.

luckily school doesn't start until 9/4, so at least we get to ease into the crazy sports schedule starting up.. I would be so grumpy if school started in August, it's summer! Have fun on your trip to "the house" Brent! @Gramz, have a wonderful get away, then come home to a new family member, how sweet! enjoy

I did learn about Greeko/Roman wresting though that I didn't know existed. My 12 year old nephew wrestles in school so he thought it was cool anyway. Swimming, water polo, & high speed ping pong were fun to watch too IMO. I watch the Olympics in spurts so no I am not sleep deprived myself. But, it is time for them to end soon I'll admit.

  17. Penn State sanctions just and warranted, but can someone explain how the vacating wins works? I don't see how you can really take away a win, those kids that played in those games know how they played and the result... ?? what does it mean for the victory spoils also?

    1. BrentMc11

      BrentMc11

I feel the NCAA hurt the kids when trying to hurt Joe Paterno. From 1998-2011, Penn State forfeited all games. This situation is the worst of the worst in terms of 'harboring a criminal.' I support the NCAA, but feel that State and federal laws, trials....due process should have taken place before the NCAA acted. A pathetic situation all the way around.

    2. MIColtsFan

      MIColtsFan

yes, the whole school is punished for this with vacating wins.. I'm not sure I understand that part, the rest of it, yes.. but vacating wins seems to hurt innocent kids that played hard in those games..???????? confused

    3. alawai

      alawai

First of all I'm with you guys and the victims have lost. I feel the PSU, the school should have been hit harder but not JoePa, this was not on football, recruits or athletic rules but personal integrity or lack of it. I'm with many that yes there should be a penalty and a big one on the PSU the school and athletic department for not reporting it.
