A top 5 pick is definitely on the table, if you go by power rankings it seems likely even. I would take CW if we can

I would add a bonus incentive to franchise tags for Rbs. -

I wouldnt call it tanking yet, starting Sam all year would be tanking though. I dont think theres much out there at CB and WR. They will probably pick up Oline on cut day -

He set nation wide records in high school and won a Heisman in college. Hes a RB, no way he was switching positions -

I haven't looked, i think the team would look into it in that scenario though. It would send a bad message to the players and fans if they just blatantly tank all year. Shane didnt come here for that either -
Decent pickup for them but hes at the age where WRs tend to start falling off and im not sure the titans have the qb play to get the most out of him. Agree with the above, he probably helps them for a year or so but this isnt our year anyway.

I think a veteran free agent would be on the table in that scenario depending on how AR looks in pre season. I dont think tank for draft picks is something they would do before this season even starts. pre season is too soon to say lets just tank for picks -
I'm glad we all got to have this discussion. What an incredible thread

It could be risky to put him out there if hes truly not ready. He may not know protections or where all of the receivers are going to be, he also may not be able to change plays when necessary. They can find ways to use him if hes not starting too -
Speed could be a good pick. hes been really good against the run, has gotten a sack and i think blocked a kick. They dont seem to use him much in coverage, at least not yet

Some people would probably boo, hard to say if most would. It might depend on how long they waited to do it I also think if he played for any team in the league you would find a few that would boo. Its not about Indianapolis at all, its about football fans being football fans. there is no team in the league that wouldnt have at least some one booing like when he retired.

Jim Irsay “we’ll see” on Shaq Leonard (MERGE)
BlackTiger replied to GoColts8818's topic in Colts Football
according to spotrac the penalty for cutting him now would be about a 28 million$ cap hit, and if we keep him the cap hit is about 20. So if i read that right the penalty is bigger than just keeping him for now Next year the penalty drops to 8 and the team would save money by cutting him if they want to at that time. -
If it were up to me I'd say Luck didnt do nearly enough to make the hof. are there people who think he should get in?

I guess we cant ignore anymore but a quick look at his post history shows a long list of ultra pedantic one line comments just fighting with people. Dude tires too hard to police other posters into not posting things that he simply doesn't want to see. A quick scroll up in this very thread shows several examples of this lol -

Man you just love to fight with me dont you? The team wont keep him if he cant live up to his contract, that was the point that i didn't think needed to be spelled out so explicitly. Should't be hard to understand. He needs to do more than just come back and be ok due to what he makes. Putting you on ignore, you try too hard to argue with me. That is how it works if he cant live up to a huge contract -

Personally i dont think there was anything wrong with my post. I said more than its possible his career is over too -

I read he has a similar condition to what Peyton had, its hard to come back from and theres a very real chance he wont be the same physically. That could be an issue for a under sized line backer To justify his contract he needs to do more than just come back and be ok too, he needs to be great to earn that Yeah i wouldnt say its a "fact" that his career is over but he could be nearing the end -

His contract has him in a position where it doesnt make any sense to retire. He will make a ton of money by doing little if he doesnt retire the team will cut him before 2024 if he still isnt playing though. the cap hit is too high to cut him now -

There have been qbs that were more pro ready than him who didnt start right away. I'll trust the coaches to say when he should sit and when hes ready to start I think people are just bored and watching him would make it more it more interesting for fans coming off a pretty boring year last year. that wouldnt be for his own good though, he'll start when hes ready -

He wont because he can come back and go through the motions and get paid a lot of money this year, he isnt cuttable right now. If he doesnt play this year the team can have a serious talk about cutting him next year -
i looked it up after reading these comments. in 2005 they changed the rule about assisting a ball carrier to now allow pushing. I guess it wouldnt be that hard to change it back but to me that seems like a big rule to change over this As to why Philly uses Hurts, i think its because he is just good at at. They could probably find someone bigger but he is the one with all the practice reps taking snaps and running for the goal line. I think its about having practice and consistency as opposed to finding the biggest runner
-
sometimes they push back and forth too, usually not that far but its not uncommon. I dont see them making a rule saying you cant push on a ball carrier all because of this
-
I think its tricky to make a rule against this. They would have to say offense can no longer push a pile but defense still can? What if a rb hits a pile midfield? his team mates can no longer push him but the defense can? thats always been part of the game
-
It may not be exactly like that specifically but its not that uncommon for a RB to run into a crowd on some random play and for both sides to push the pile I just dont see what they can do about this rule wise without coming out and saying offense can no longer push a pile but defense can?
-
I dont get why people have such a problem with this. Its just the offense pushing a pile and it can happen on all kinds of plays If they banned it would they make it so offensive players cant push a pile anymore? I think that would be dumb. It would meant the defense wins any play where a pile forms or the O would get a penalty for pushing back
