  1. There is a middle ground between balling out and having a down year too. He didnt really ball out last year before he got hurt but he was pretty good. Imo he simply hasnt earned a 16 million$ per year long term deal He is asking for too much money rather than a fair market deal. I wouldnt be sorry about using the tag on that, thats what its for The team isnt screwing him imo, hes asking for too much
  2. We traded a good corner last year and didnt get much. I dont think we have many players that would move the needle much in a trade
  3. Well the rumors are hes looking for something in the 15-20 mil a year range. Personally i think thats too much for a RB no matter what and especially for 4+ years. thus the tag could be used
  4. It could happen if he plays well and the team wants to sign him for something like 12 mil a year but Jt still demands 15-16 His demands could be so high that the team wont agree to it, even if he has a good year
  5. How can somebody demand an early raise on their contract after missing a bunch of time last year and starting this season on the pup list?
  6. They could make the salary work but we are asking for a lot in a trade too. If I were them id want him but probably wouldnt do what it would take to get him
  7. Right now the bills are at negative 40 million in cap space next year. Id be surprised if they want to trade a first and work that much cap magic for him
  8. I think not trading him could be the worst case for us. Then we get holdouts, sitting out, fake injuries, real injuries/ more trade demands... this could be a nightmare for the team He may refuse to play on the tag next year until hes traded.
  9. Thats harsh man. He had a good rookie year and followed it up with a solid year two, but then tore his Achilles late in the season Hasnt been the same since that injury
  10. Its annoying how secretive they are being about this injury. Taylor, the team and the media are not telling us everything we know The media guys are acting like they know whats going on but are not telling us lol
  11. People are speculating for sure, but she may not have even been in indy much or considered it a short term place to live before they married. Now they are going to be thinking about long term living situations rather than year to year apartments
  12. I think Sam should go to the PS, we dont need an emergency third qb that badly this year and the new rule doesnt actually help that much. He would still have to be on the 53 We should be looking for WRs, Oline and CBs on cut day. unfortunately the top few teams in the waiver priority often make a lot of claims
  13. We could get people with the read option if he stays. To me it looks like he doesnt want to be here and its become about more than just money
  14. I thought he had it live but the replay made it look like the arm was down first
  15. That looks close, hard to tell where the ball was when his forearm went down
  16. That just means its not on the east or west coast. I have heard Chicago called flyover before Its only joke people from NY and LA say to make fun of stuff mostly
  17. Nba has plenty of examples of starts leaving the fly over country. if they land somewhere like LA or Miami they stay or if they do leave its to another big market. Kareem said he wasnt culturally satisfied in Wisconsin but he did win them a title before leaving. KD wanted out of OK, Kawhi out of Toronto despite being on a good team. Lebron wanting out of his home town even!(unless they had a great team) Shaq to LA, Paul George to LA, I still dont understand what happened with Victor oladipo
  18. I said id take a second, conditional second would be enough for me Imagine what would happen if we tried to tag him next year. This would turn into more of a circus than it already is now
  19. I understand where you are coming from, if one still thinks theres a chance that he will play out the year and negotiate with the team in good faith next year then we should hang on to him or ask more than that. Thats starting to seem unlikely to me, it looks like he wants out of here in general for various reasons now imo. Its not crazy to wonder if the marriage is a factor now, maybe Jims comments rubbed him wrong too? He never seemed unhappy in indiana before but a marriage could change that and be adding fuel to this I remember there were some rumors that Sabonis didnt mind Indiana until he got married and then his wife wanted out.
  20. He could play the minimum number of games then hold out and sit the rest of the year. If we get to next year like that he will demand a trade again. Would they be bold enough to tag him when he doesnt want to play for Chris and Jim and wants out of indy in general? accepting a second for him could make this all a lot easier
  21. If we dont trade him then he is close to going to war with the team and sitting out. Thats why i would take a second. Its not that we will replace his production, its that i dont trust him to actually play here for much longer
  22. So hes either mad at Jim and Chris or just doesnt want to be in Indiana anymore We probably wont hear which it is until hes gone, if ever Reminds me of the pacers now. all star free agents never sign with them ever and we have seen more than one who left because they dont want to play out their days in indy
