I'd be willing to draft a CB pretty high. #1 overall might be a stretch but I could do third or so. If it were Deion sanders and I needed a corner I'd be ok with first. Of course he played offense and sp teams too

He's been asked and said hes never touched Madden. I dont think i can buy that someone will credit Madden as any significant reason for landing a head coaching job. Not something a billionaire would bring up in an interview.

Madden players on rare occasions get hired to help work on Madden itself. They dont get hired onto teams and if they did it would be low level. I play Madden myself, enough to know that it doesnt teach you how to actually be a coach. Not even close. If a madden expert ever made it that far in the league it wouldnt be because they played madden.

Its straight up naive. No one is giving a madden player millions of$ to lead rosters of 50+ people plus the rest of the staff. You cant prove you can do that on madden and HC and GM are too big for that kind of risk. No one will do it.

I would take that as a win and not worry about what happened to the other guy.. Stuff like that happens in sports where the best teams get hurt or knocked out early. It would be boring and kind of pointless to watch if you knew the best roster would always win

There could be so many WRs already taken that its not worth it to us. I hope thats not the case but if we can get the best corner in the draft vs the 5th WR we might have to go defense

My comment as actually more directed at Tua and Herbert because I personally liked them better. It would have been a risk to trade up but we could have done it. Houston didnt want to trade up either, they wanted to pick someone at 2 and then trade for Will Anderson. If you just sit and wait for a great qb to fall to you in the draft it may never happen before the regime is fired. Ballard could be in that position soon

We didnt need anything from them to make a deal. A team moved up to number one in that draft and we were in better position than them to do it.
