With all the good qb prospects coming out next year It got me thinking. God forbid we end up with a top 1-3 pick next year and let’s say Richardson looks mostly lost out there, do you think we draft another qb next year or do we pass on the so called “ bettter qb prospects” and stick with Richardson and draft someone like Harrison??
AR would have to really show that he was a mistake. He won’t be easy to cut ties with since he’s so young and raw.thing is, if he’s no good we would be drafting high the next 2 to 4 years anyway, there’s that.

I was telling my 17 year old yesterday,(think old man voice), yeah back when we had Peyton we knew we’d win 12, 13, 14 games. We knew we’d beat everyone in the playoffs until we saw Pitt or NE .- 2

I've agreed with that all along. In fact, the very obvious (to me/us) stupidity of it is why I'm having trouble accepting that JT's side would be behind it at all. It's so clearly a bad move, they'd have to know better than to try it... right?

It would be really stupid, and unnecessary, and wouldn't help at all. If JT and his side brought up a back injury, then they really don't know what they're doing.
Thanks for synopsizing the first post you responded to with this thing man lol.
you didn’t cite me as the source though man

Yup, that tracks IMO. You asked earlier how this got out of hand so quickly, and the answer is probably that this has been building for months, and is now coming to a head.
Yeah in retrospect the seemingly optimistic Irsay tweet about how healthy JT was a month ago was almost certainly pointed towards this. -
3 minutes ago, Superman said:
I disagree. He's still on PUP with an ankle injury. That tracks logically. He's actually in the perfect position to test this 'exaggerate an injury' ploy, because he had ankle surgery, and hasn't worked out with the team all offseason. Why would he make up a separate injury? Just use the ankle...
And nothing about that has changed. He's still on PUP, still protected by the CBA, and the only mention of the team considering putting him on NFI is so far unsubstantiated. And he denied the report about the back.
He did NOT deny being injured. He denied having a back injury. He still has the ankle, and the injury ploy -- assuming that's what this is -- is still in play.
I agree about the ankle. He could slow play that easily. All he has to do is say ow after surgery.
the back, assuming, he said would be colossally stupid
and that’s why I said everything else is logically sound, but not that if true

So again, why not put him on NFI?
well the bridge is in fire but this would nuke it maybe?using it as a hardball threat perhaps?
want him to play 1st 4 games?

The Colts backs other than JT had 99 carries and 63 targets in 2021 Is that RBBC?
How many carries did the QB have? Hurts had 165. Regardless of that. . .

71 one percent of snaps IMo and probably pff = RBBCish
you lose again. You are like the Oakland As

I don't think Kamara or McCaffrey would get $16m/year on the open market right now, let alone adding in draft compensation. JMO.
But a lot of that comes down to the fact that some of you are far more concerned with the perceived flaws in JT's game than I think is warranted. You obviously think less of his game and ability than I do.
I think his value is hurt because the league doesn’t think he’s a complete back.RB value is down sure, but if he were adjudged to be a real pass catching type, he’s likely be in a different negotiating position here.

What’s the gist of the vid. Don’t watch many. Just generally baffling or is he supporting any side?

I'm allowing for the possibility that the reports about the back injury are incomplete, if not entirely false. JT completely denied those reports.
somebody lyin doe.minus JT and or posse mentioning the back, I still think the deal is logically reasonable, but likely not to work.

Do you get bogged down with literalism like Dustin Hoffman in Rainmann?
In the context of contracts given to RBs, which is the topic of the thread, they have a RBBC system.

You are the one that said RBBC. The offense SS just came from didn't have a RBBC.
RBs other than Sanders had 107 carries and 40 targets to Sanders 259 and 26.
they were at least committeeish

hmmmm.....wasnt i saying this a couple of days ago that Taylor may not be all he was made out to be?? Like i said, more than a few pod casts reporters were kind of taken a back by his lack of accountability last year. I do think that before this gets out of control and a lot of mud gets slung, it is time to pull the trigger
You want to off him? That’s extreme Moose.Seriously though , I’ve known a few pros. Got some insider stuff. These guys are just like everyone else. Demons, skeletons, and flaws.
Public image and actual image ain’t the same thing.

but the thing is every running back wants the ball. every skill position wants the ball.
i doubt he views it as being just a pawn to take heat off AR. at the end of the day it seems like he wants a record deal, more than any other RB right now, and it isn't gonna happen. timing is bad.
A lot of vet RBs want less usage.

He could get 2000 rushing and as silly as that sounds, it would probably diminish his value. Teams would look at his work load out of college his 1800 yard year and then say a 2000 yard year (not going to happen I know) and would be more fearful of wear and tear. It is just the market for rbs has gone south and honestly with all these backs excelling coming straight out of college and to boot being low draft picks, this is just the beginning. The only way Taylor gets that 2nd contract that he wants is to put up numbers like 1300 yards rushing with say 800 yards catching. He has to show that he is special. I also think that Taylor is so adamant about wanting a new contract is because I think he knows that he is not going to be put in a position to be the Kamara and McAfferey's in this offence under Steichen. Steichen probably had Taylor slotted for specific plays and in those crucial passing downs, Taylor may have been riding the bench. Just my hunch. I think if this year played out and Taylor would have played without all these noise, his numbers may have just been so so!! Taylor is very bright and maybe her read the tea leaves.
I mentioned that there seems to be an inverse relationship between high touch production for RBs that don't exist with other positions. I agreee. 400 touch 2000 yd season makes Taylor less likely to get a longer term deal.

By all accounts, Taylor is an incredibly intelligent man, as he could have went to Harvard. Is sitting out the season the move that an intelligent man would make? However, maybe he is more prideful/stubborn than intelligent? Logic usually wins over and it would not shock me if Taylor fired his agent. This is always a good way of resetting the dialogue between player and team.
His premises are radically flawed or he really, really sucks as a philosopher lol. Many philosophers over the ages have come up with some real dumb feces, that are brilliantly logicized, from radically flawed premeses.

All due respect, my engagements and comments are sincere. There’s a lot of knowledge on this board, including on your posts. “NINETY NINE percent of the locker room thinks this!!!”
”Really, source?”
”Could be 97, 96, who cares.”
“Source?”
“You’re insincere. I wrote about the NFL.”Pretty revealing idn't it?
