  1. I'm just saying the offense went from having one of the very best QBs in the league to not one of the best.  The offense took a MAJOR hit and will need a heck of a lot more than energy.

I hope I'm wrong.  I wanted the Colts to draft Ryan Leaf.

  2. I think there may be some instability involved.

When of the the strangest things I’ve seen in sports is when Luck was bouncing around on the sidelines like a 13 year old girl who was at a Justin Bieber concert after Indy was eliminated.  Jax I think.  The rest of the team was visibly kinda uncomfortable like Ok dude Yeah.  He seemed so oddly desperate.

If there is no further injury here it’s really strange because last week he’s all bouncing around and now he’s all totally sad.

I’m  guessing he’s bipolar.  Lists of brilliant savants like him are.

Lost in all of this is that he has two years left on his contract.  It’s hard to argue his “me first” mentality.

I'm not sure I want Zeke, but I don't think it's selfish for an RB to try to get what he can while he can.  His shelf like is very short and RB is the worst postion on the body and brain.  It is a brutal, brutal occupation.

  4. Thought Mack looked good.  Caught a pass out of the backfield 1st play.  Huge IMO.  I think he could catch 30-40 and that would really open up another aspect of the O.  Had the nice little scamper up the sideline.  Most of the rest of the runs were short yardage and not well blocked.  Be different going up Q’s big butt.

  5. I coached HS football and you would rather have a broken ankle than a high ankle sprain in many instances.  It is a very bad injury for a football player and the chances of reinjuring are very very high.  His season is in jeopardy, and that is just the way she goes with that injury.

Funchess was not brought in to really create much seperation. He is a guy like Ebron that will use his size. Here is Kevin Bowen’s update and he said DF had his best day in camp so far.

Ebron creates a lot of separation as a TE v LBs and safeties man.  Funchess has to beat CBS.

  7. I am a Funchess skeptic.  He was well covered and then Desir just missed the swipe after using bad technique and turning his hips the wrong way.  I am not sold on DF's ability to create separation.

Whoever threw that did a great job BTW.

On the other hand the big body helped shield there.

  8. The ol' calf injury designation might be the new "forearm" injury for a pitcher.  Many times they slow walk the "forearm injury" and its really the UCL, but somehow forearm doesn't "seem" as bad as elbow.

Hoping I have irrational Durantaphobia, but wouldn't be surprised given the Colt's slow walking in the past as others on here have pointed out.  It would really suck because this team is ready I think.

First....   I’ve never compared the fan base to any other.   So that eliminates any type of ranking issue.

Second....   as to whether most fan bases are like the Colts, not very knowledgeable, I’d doubt it.    Some teams, some cities are known for their fan bases.

So in baseball, fans in St. Louis and Boston are known for being smart in addition to being loyal.    In basketball, Boston (again) and Indiana fans are known for being good knowledgeable.    Off hand, I don’t recall seeing a list for NFL, but I’d be surprised if there isn’t one.   No reason not to be one.   I’d be surprised if Green Bay and the NY Giants aren’t high on the list.   Note: it’s my guess that Dallas and New England might not be as high on the list (though I could easily be wrong)

The NFL has only been in Indiana for about what?  35 years?   I’d guess that factors in.

Fact is very few people let alone fans understand much about football.  Very complex game.

Fully agree. I don’t think some people can see the trickle down effect having a second string QB throwing a ball vs a pro bowler type of special QB. Is the defense looking better because we are playing against a guy who makes choices that a better QB wouldn’t make? Are receivers dropping balls because they aren’t thrown where a better QB would place them? Is the team getting a false sense of hope because we think our defense really is looking awesome only to find out week one, this back up QB can’t perform against an average defense and the defense is getting shredded because we felt we had better talent? You never know what or who you have until your best is playing full strength against your best. It distorts the truth of who you really have.

When it comes to things like defense in TC, there are other measurable besides the outcome of the play.

Most people don’t understand that coaches script EVERYTHING in practice.  They call both the O and the D.  Sometimes they set it up so that it is almost a sure completion and sometimes it’s the opposite.

  11. As a lifelong Cub fan I am a pessimist when it comes to sports.

I wasn't sure he'd play last year and he was awesome.

I told my brother the calf strain was Garnett scary as soon as it was reported.  I am hoping the same thing will happen with my pessimism this year.

  12. Anyone know how Rock's last name is pronounced?

Is it yassin  ryhmes with flossin', or like Ya-Sin, like Swedish Yes followed by the word Sin, or some other way.

The only thing about keeping Collins over Hairston is Hairston is Kenny Moore’s backup in the slot. This group is one of the most interesting to see how it gets trimmed down.

I was just listening to Kevin’s corner. He said not to read into it to much. The colts are rotating a lot of corners in with the first team.

I meant from the coverage I personally saw.  Rock looked good too, but probably won't start right away.

  14. I was at camp Saturday, and from what I saw, Jalen Collins is a lock to make the team and is possibly going to be a starter before long.

I don't know about the off field stuff, but the talent seems to be there.
