Thank you for making me go back through and reread these! - sarcasm I did skim through and saw one harsh one. I do not think the op was harsh and there was one a few posts down from that that said something like maybe he should change his name back. I don't think the intent of that was malicious. I think it was just silly and harmless. A little off the cuff but not evil. It is possible that i am not perceiving these correctly and they are disrespectful in nature and intent but again i hope not. Maybe you are misreading the intent. We both don't know the answer to that. ok, i just read the Shaq sucks one. I'll give you that, but the majority do not seem to be in ill will. This may just be that i see people as generally good with flaws. I'd rather be naive and think that way than the alternative.

In that article he says that he doesn't mind being called Darious and understands if he is called that. I think we are making more out of this than needs to be. In thinking about it, I do agree that it is respectful to call someone by what name they prefer to be called but I do not think anyone here was being disrespectful by saying he played better when he went by another name.

Ali changed his name for religious/political reasons and it was reported by some to be an affront to ‘merica. Vastly different than someone saying hey I know I went by my middle name of Jeff and now want to be called by my first name of Kevin. I don’t think, and hope I am right, that any posters are making fun of his name or have any issue with it. I think they are just noticing that he hasn’t performed well while using his real name. The joking is innocuous and just silly but I don’t see any malice in it.

I support players holding out if they do not think they are being paid their value for so long as teams can unilaterally void a contract by cutting said player. however, jt has done this terribly and caused unnecessary drama. Calling out the club and ownership publicly is a mistake. I think it has damaged his reputation and that he didn’t consider this fully. I now wonder if his first agent created his prior public persona and coached him into saying all the right things or if this new management is coaching the other way to say all the wrong things. Or if one of those is his true nature. either way he has lost me and doing what he has done I believe is very short sighted. He should have had a silent hold out. I think he will lose endorsement deals from how this has played out. I guess it will depend on what he says after this is sorted out.

I heard on a podcast that the last colts rookie to win the season opener was George Shaw from 1955. And it feels like we haven’t beaten the jags or won the season opener in about 60 years. a win in the first week is doubtful but it would be tremendous.

I know you didn't mean this to be taken in a negative light and I have no idea if he will get a lot better and sometimes i can get a little to optimistic but this kid seems like the real deal and if anyone can do it I would put my money on him. Evidence that I am relying on are 1. his study habits - I have read that he is so engrossed in the playbook that players have had to shout at him to get his head out of the book. This tells me he is committed to excellence (the late Al Davis would love him) and will do what it takes to be great. He has also said this, but actions speak louder, and his actions are clearly backing his speech. 2. The video in the op shows that he is doing more than simple workouts. He is taking this modern science approach to advance himself. The commentary by Allen stating what it did for him and what he sees in AR are strong indicators that he may also be an outlier. 3. He was named a captain as a rookie and only 21 years old. To me that shows he has the Moxy or "It" factor as well. Drive/Will alone can take you far in life. His teammates recognize this. They would not vote him as captain unless he already showed he was worthy. He may not improve his completion percentage, but I think he has a strong chance to.

I’ve argued this many times. Kirk is the best by far. A true man of action. The others not so much. I put janeway above Picard. I feel like every tough situation Picard had to face turned out to be a simulation. Lame now don’t get me started about how much better Farscape is to firefly.
