  1. I was wondering. The Colts were reportedly trying to sign Danielle Hunter but lost out. Hassan Reddick, same age, is available for trade. A trade and extension would most certainly be on the table. According to BR something less than a 1st would do it. Since Ballard was trying for Hunter could he be pursuing Reddick now?
  2. Any vet FS who will sign will be an upgrade. If we stay at 15 Arnold. If we trade back Dejean.
  3. It’s the weekend and that means any moves of any consequence won’t happen until Monday at the earliest. Unfortunately that’s the plain truth for the Colts.
  4. My guess so they can use the 20m cap space he was using up to add a player they could really use to help them 3peat.
  5. I wasn’t talking about the draft. I said right now three weeks into the new year we have done zilch except run it back with our own players. Which I am extremely happy about by the way. But no new veteran starters to help this team. I’m happy we got an impact player in the 3rd rd. Better than nothing.
  6. It’s the 3rd week of FA and we have not added one new starter to the team. We actually might be down one if Blackmon doesn’t return. Right now that pretty much satisfies the definition of running it back with what you have.
  7. The Chiefs just picked up more cap space. Watch them go out and sign Simmons or Diggs or even Blackmon. That should add a dozen pages to this thread.
  8. There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that is going to happen. Probably first round unless he brings in a new veteran starter before the draft. And he still might depending on who is there when we pick.
  9. As far as bringing in players from other teams Ballards biggest glowing achievement so far has been his trade for Buckner. He acquired him and extended him with a new contract that no one can argue was a great move. This lack of meaningful activity so far has me wondering if he has looking for a similar opportunity this year. One player who would be available on the last year of his contract in a position of need is FS Budda Baker of the Cardinals. He is in his prime at age 28 and would fall ideally into his MO for extending players three or four years. He was unhappy last year and had requested a trade but the Cardinals gave him more guaranteed money to finish out his contract and that stopped the trade request. They could extend him now but so far nothing. I know it’s wishful thinking on my part but he’s made a move like this before so maybe it’s on the table again. I just want a new quality starter to help the team. I’m having a hard time being extremely patient. Any meaningful move would make me feel better. That is all.
  10. The thing is now the Chiefs have more cap space. They lost their safety Edwards, who we brought in, to the Bills. Now they can go out and sign Simmons, Diggs or even Blackmon. You can’t make this % up.
  11. He must have something up his sleeve. He knows the pressure is on him. To be this quiet three weeks in really surprising.
  12. That’s right around what I was expecting. The market is what it is. Ballard decided not to pay it. Let’s hope he doesn’t pick off AR a few times.
  13. I think Corner moves to the front of the line with our 1st pick. Right now today our secondary is a major weakness.
  14. Diggs or Simmons should be coming now.
  15. This has to be the quietest Ballard has been in FA when it was about acquiring outside FA. Two players at the end of the 3rd week. We know he doesn’t participate initially but this is head shaking.
  16. Looks that way. They really got very little in return. Really anxious to get that cap space.
  17. In a new BR article tonight Dianna Russini is reporting that the Chiefs were originally asking for a 2nd pick for Sneed. They really want to move Sneed. She now thinks multiple picks will get it done. She mentioned picks 46, 82, and 117 would get the deal done with the Colts. Does she know something? The hangup is the contract for Sneed. He definitely doesn’t want to play on the tag. It sounds like he has moved off his position of wanting to be the highest paid corner. So now it’s a matter of agreeing on the contract. She now thinks the Colts are the front runner to land Sneed. Another team could jump in but his market has cooled somewhat throughout the league but the Colts seem the most likely in her mind. Albert Breer was also mentioned in the article. He thinks Sneed will be traded before the draft.
  18. I think there is a high probability we are still working on a trade actually. The fact that he’s not insisting on being the highest paid is huge. When the tag is 19.8 and the highest is 21 I can’t believe they can’t find a number that works for both sides. The question comes down to which team. Hopefully this is Ballard’s big swing.
  19. That deal fell apart quite awhile ago and they signed Calvin Ridley instead which took them out of a Sneed pursuit.
  20. I just read an article on BR where Nate Taylor of the Athletic is quoted as saying Sneed does not want to play under the franchise tag. And he is looking for a 3 or 4 year contract that would make him “one of the highest paid corners in the league”. This is very different from being the highest paid corner in the league which is what has been previously reported. So if this new reporting is accurate then I think trading for Sneed is still very much a possibility.
  21. I have to think Ballard gave him a very fair offer considering his particular circumstances. Ballard always takes care of his own players. We have seen that numerous times in the past. So hopefully that’s the case here and after a few outside visits maybe both sides can pull together and get this done.
  22. I have actually read a few articles where they said Baker is available for trade. So it’s not out of the question. He is on the final year of his contract so I see a trade similar to the one for Buckner. Trade and extend. I don’t see a 1st rd pick though as the compensation. I could see Ballard being interested like he is for Sneed. They are both around the same age. Bakers contract would be less so I wouldn’t say it’s entirely off the table. Just depends where Ballard thinks the focus should be. He is in great position to draft a starting corner with the 1st pick.
  23. For some reason I’m starting to think that Ballard is waiting to see how the Blackmon situation finishes before he signs another safety. He could still very well bring him back. He might even match another team’s offer. Until he knows how much it will cost him to bring him back, if at all, he is going to sit tight until he knows. I think we will know relatively soon actually.
  24. Question. Can top 30 visits be held away from the facility or do they have to come to the Colts facility ?
