  1. Pierce is a high Ballard pick. Do you think they are going to draft a WR to start in front of him. I don’t see it unless it’s one of the top three. I think our 1st pick this year has to start. That’s why I think it will be CB. One of these guys to compete in the 2nd rd that I could see.
  2. No playoffs No more Ballard. Jim’s patience runs out.
  3. I will vote for the 6 time pro bowler who is only 28 years old. He could be our new Bob Sanders anchoring a Super Bowl defense in a few years. He would be a splash acquisition.
  4. Hunter is 29. He went after him and secondary. Price went too high. I think he’s open to ER, safety and CB. Nothing wrong with that.
  5. I can see Ballard wanting to make one or two upgrades with those two players mentioned that would probably be considered difference makers when they came on board. To pay what it would take to acquire them would have to make sense from a need standpoint. Otherwise it would really be a waste of resources. So for me his actions tell me he believes ER is still a primary need along with cornerback and I would think safety. Those three are the positions he is trying to upgrade above everything else if he can do it. Right now he hasn’t improved any of those positions with veteran acquisitions. He will always be looking for depth players but when it comes to adding a potential difference maker and surely an upgrade those are the three positions I think he is currently focused on. Right now we’re all focused on safety and CB but he still could be poking around looking for an ER.
  6. That would seem to make sense yet Ballard was after Hunter. Had to be a reason.
  7. Since you brought up Burns and the Colts reportedly tried to sign Hunter I wonder if Ballard would call the Eagles about Reddick who is the same age as Hunter. He was obviously interested in an ER and Reddick is available and the trade compensation would not be exhorbatant.
  8. I was wondering. The Colts were reportedly trying to sign Danielle Hunter but lost out. Hassan Reddick, same age, is available for trade. A trade and extension would most certainly be on the table. According to BR something less than a 1st would do it. Since Ballard was trying for Hunter could he be pursuing Reddick now?
  9. Any vet FS who will sign will be an upgrade. If we stay at 15 Arnold. If we trade back Dejean.
  10. It’s the weekend and that means any moves of any consequence won’t happen until Monday at the earliest. Unfortunately that’s the plain truth for the Colts.
  11. My guess so they can use the 20m cap space he was using up to add a player they could really use to help them 3peat.
  12. I wasn’t talking about the draft. I said right now three weeks into the new year we have done zilch except run it back with our own players. Which I am extremely happy about by the way. But no new veteran starters to help this team. I’m happy we got an impact player in the 3rd rd. Better than nothing.
  13. It’s the 3rd week of FA and we have not added one new starter to the team. We actually might be down one if Blackmon doesn’t return. Right now that pretty much satisfies the definition of running it back with what you have.
  14. The Chiefs just picked up more cap space. Watch them go out and sign Simmons or Diggs or even Blackmon. That should add a dozen pages to this thread.
  15. There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that is going to happen. Probably first round unless he brings in a new veteran starter before the draft. And he still might depending on who is there when we pick.
  16. As far as bringing in players from other teams Ballards biggest glowing achievement so far has been his trade for Buckner. He acquired him and extended him with a new contract that no one can argue was a great move. This lack of meaningful activity so far has me wondering if he has looking for a similar opportunity this year. One player who would be available on the last year of his contract in a position of need is FS Budda Baker of the Cardinals. He is in his prime at age 28 and would fall ideally into his MO for extending players three or four years. He was unhappy last year and had requested a trade but the Cardinals gave him more guaranteed money to finish out his contract and that stopped the trade request. They could extend him now but so far nothing. I know it’s wishful thinking on my part but he’s made a move like this before so maybe it’s on the table again. I just want a new quality starter to help the team. I’m having a hard time being extremely patient. Any meaningful move would make me feel better. That is all.
  17. The thing is now the Chiefs have more cap space. They lost their safety Edwards, who we brought in, to the Bills. Now they can go out and sign Simmons, Diggs or even Blackmon. You can’t make this % up.
  18. He must have something up his sleeve. He knows the pressure is on him. To be this quiet three weeks in really surprising.
  19. That’s right around what I was expecting. The market is what it is. Ballard decided not to pay it. Let’s hope he doesn’t pick off AR a few times.
  20. I think Corner moves to the front of the line with our 1st pick. Right now today our secondary is a major weakness.
  21. Diggs or Simmons should be coming now.
  22. This has to be the quietest Ballard has been in FA when it was about acquiring outside FA. Two players at the end of the 3rd week. We know he doesn’t participate initially but this is head shaking.
