  1. I do as well. One of my best friends of 20 years is a huge Bears fan and hates the Colts. He avoided me for like a week after that game. -Once we did talk, he admitted it was just our time and that Peyton was great. He hated the Colts so bad; he thought Peyton was an overrated choke. Not until that SB, he changed his tune.
  2. I think with the Falcons it was a bit different because they had a 28-3 lead in their SB and had never won 1 before. I can see that. Or the like Bills in 1990 missing a FG to win it. There is always going to be a game or 2 in every franchise where fans will be upset at a loss. I was just talking about the overall scheme of things going into each season. I am upset that we lost SB 44, we played our worst game of the season but overall that season was still great on many levels. As a Colts fan, any season to me if we make the playoffs, isn't a waste. That is just me though. Regarding the Bears fans being upset they lost in the SB to us, that is odd. We clearly had the better team, the Pats, Chargers, and Ravens were even better that year IMO. Had we lost that game, then I could see our fans being furious.
  3. That would be a story for the ages. Winning the SB is the ultimate goal, that is my goal, but for the team you root for it rarely happens no matter who is at QB. We only won one with Peyton. What the Pats accomplished from 2001-2018 will never be done again. I would bet a million dollars on it. Not even KC will win 6 times with Mahomes. I wonder if other fanbases feel like some of our fanbase, as in if you don't win it all, the season is meaningless? If so then that thinking would be: Dan Marino's career was a total waste. What the Bills accomplished from 1990-1993 doesn't matter. What the Titans accomplished from 2019-2021 was just average. What the Bengals accomplished in 2021 and 2022 doesn't matter. Our 2009 season was just a waste. So was our 1995 season. Just plain embarrassing if fans are like that.
  4. Winning a SB is extremely tough. We only won one with Peyton. I enjoy each win and watching my team win. Successful seasons are gratifying. Making the playoffs, going to a Championship Game, etc.. if we don't win it all, crap happens like it did with Dan Marino, the Bills from 1990-1993, the Titans from 2019-2021. Chiefs didn't win one for 50 years until Mahomes got there.
  5. I would rather make the playoffs and then lose, than have a boring/bad season and be a laughing stock. Making the playoffs is still a good season. Of course playing the hindsight game, if i knew we weren't making the playoffs, then of course i would want to pick higher. if someone ask me would you rather just miss making the playoffs or pick higher, I would rather pick higher if I knew we were going to miss the playoffs. Really it is pointless to even root for your team to win if winning the SB is one's only purpose. I could ask someone, would you rather go 11-5 and lose in the AFC Title Game, or pick 5th in the draft? Silly question right? Believe it or not, there are a few that would rather pick 5th in the draft.
  6. Not saying we will make it in. My point was, people saying a season is over if you start something like 2-5 need to slow their roll. Until we get up to 9 losses, I will never think it is over. In a 16 game season, it was losing that 8th game for me. 9-8 may get us in this year because of tiebreakers. With it being 17 games now. Also to the people that want us to tank or don't care if we make the playoffs, why even watch is what I would ask them. If I didn't care, I can find 5 other things to do on a Sunday.
  7. This year proves otherwise. Any QB can get injured on any given play, just because they may run more than others doesn't mean they are more susceptible to injury. Look at the list. Anymore I try to post as much factual stuff as I can, because if I list an opinion one can disagree with that. Look at the QB list of Injuries, most are pass FIRST QBs. That is a fact, can't be argued.
  8. Yeah, I put in a bid at 1.25 Mill, you must have been the one that went 1.26 mill. That damn Irsay
  9. I honestly think Mustache is as good as Tannehill is at his stage of his career. I doubt he would make that much of a difference.
  10. I thought only running QB's got injured, Homer better check his notes because there were about at least 7 or 8 people that focused and pushed their narrative on that after AR got injured??-over half those guys are pure pocket passers. Am I missing something? I can't wait to hear the naysayers on this one
  11. This is why you never tank or give up on a season when you start slow. It's a marathon, not a sprint.
  12. That would be fun. It would be a lot of work but if you love football, get the Coffee and Donuts ready and get ready for sleepless nights. To me I would love it, if I was winning
  13. I think as diehard fans, sometimes fans do get it right where GM's get it wrong, I will admit that, but the majority of the time GM's get it right more. They just have more resources than we do and they interview these guys, scout these guys for a living, etc..
  14. Next year is a huge year because AR is our future and that is who Ballard picked with chips all in. We all can't really use the Luck excuse anymore starting next year. AR is Ballard's QB. It was either him or Levis, I would have took AR like Ballard did so I guess as a fan I am signing off on that too. I may be wrong but hope I am right. There was no chance we could have got Stroud, Panthers had way more to offer than we did to move up and the Texans weren't budging at #2. So, we can't blame Ballard for that. Regarding the main topic, I am so glad we didn't do anything in panic mode to get rid of Moore. I wanted to keep him. So far so good
  15. If you put Andrew Luck (2012-2014 Luck) in his prime on this team Ballard has built now, we win 11 or 12 games every year. It is about the QB. Had Luck not retired, Ballard would be a God here in Indy and probably ranked by most a top 5 GM out there, like Polian was with Peyton.
  16. We would have traded Taylor for a 4th round pick too - some in here think they know but in reality don't have a clue on how to run a team. By the way for what it is worth, I never wanted Moore traded either, just like with Taylor. Ballard's main problem has been not landing a franchise QB (he had Luck then Luck retired), hopefully he has now landed one with AR. We will find out next season.
  17. You are actually doing well with the picks this season. You are in 4th despite tonight. 4 out of 9 is pretty good.
  18. After tonight, there is a 3-way for 1st place out of us 9 picking. @chad72is now 96-55, @EasyE96-55, and @2006Coltsbestever96-55. I am getting my mojo back a little now. . Easy and I agree on every game on Sunday and Monday's game. Chad went 3 different on Sunday with Chargers over Packers, Steelers over Browns, and Rams over Seahawks. As of now we went Broncos over Vikings. Monday we went Chiefs over Eagles. The 3 picks on Sunday that are different from Chad's, I don't feel strong about. Those are crapshoot games.
  19. Pittsburgh has a brutal schedule, they still play Cincy twice assuming Burrow is there, at Seattle, they play here, and to finish the season they play at Baltimore. Baltimore might be playing for HFA because of KC in that last game.
  20. We if we lose to the Bucs it will ruin everything. We need that game badly.
  21. If the Bengals lose we move up to 8th. Our Conference record is better than the Bengals. I kind of hope the Browns win Sunday because that would put Pitt at 6-4 and we still play them. Browns have the tiebreaker over us because of that debacle we had with them.
  22. Good thing about Sunday is, the Browns or Steelers will lose. They play each other.
  23. 24-13 Ravens. This helps the Colts out bigtime. Sucks about Joe, these QB injuries are unreal this season.
