We will have to agree to disagree here. i think she could help a little uptick in viewership and then it will die down. The WNBA has yet to show it can be a well attended league. The Indiana Fever average 4000 fans a game. That is similar to roller derby in Fort Wayne. The Komets get over 7000 per game. So the Fever (WNBA) is a little over half of minor league hockey.
I depends. If they were a no show to class, they should either get a failing grade that should follow them on their transcript or have to reimburse. Also depends on the scholarship. Some are offered and accept multi-tear scholarships.
I think she is a huge draw now because of the media attention because she is breaking records. Once in the WNBA, it will be forgotten. She will help increase attendance and viewership a bit but it'll die off. The WNBA game is just not good. I can't watch the NBA either but I root for the Pacers.
Do you really expect the Pacers to challenge for the NBA title? I hope so, but think it is unlikely. Like other small market NBA teams not in an ideal location, they can make the playoffs, get beat and have a poor draft spot.
I don't think Clark will make much of a change in the WNBA. It'll still be a poorly attended league that most do not care much about.
I'm hoping AR can show us all that he is the QB some think he will be. The 15th pick in the draft could be hit or miss but used on a position of need, it adds to the excitement.
A quick Google search shows Peyton worth between $250 and $300 million.
Eli is worth $150 million.
MaHomes is worth $70 million but is quickly rising.
Tom Brady - $300 million
Joe Montana - $150 million
With the loss last night, I wonder if IU can even make the tournament this season. I don't know of anyone who thought that would be the case when the season started. They could still win a couple in the Big ten tourney and play themselves in but I think the Big Ten may get as many as 8 teams in and that leaves IU on the outside.
Hoefully the Boilers can beat a pretty strong Rutgers team tomorrow. Even with UConn losing last night, I think they will hold the number 1 ranking next week, but if Purdue wins they will be close.
Purdue ends the regular season with:
Michigan State
At illinois
Wisconsin.
That is a tough 3 games.
I am certainly interested in the Colts offseason moves and draft. I do trust in Ballard. If AR pans out, the team will be good, if not it could be a long few years.
They have been saying that for 50 years and it is still not very popular. I played as a kid and got a scholarship to play in college, coached both my daughters when they were little and still watch important games, but it is not a must watch thing for me (a soccer fan).
I like Edey. It is great that he gave up the NBA draft to come back to Purdue. He is shooting 50% from 3 point range for his career. Ha ha.
I can see Purdue going out in the first 2 rounds but I can also see them making it to the final 4. Matchups will tell the story. Edet will get 20 points and 13 rebounds each game, so it'll be Smith who it falls to.
They still are not to the Cowboys level though. I don't mind a good team winning and creating their own dynasty getting "deserved" attention as much as an average team like the Cowboys. They are easy to hate.
