  1. they are using a lot of tight end delay routes to stall the d-line. I mean it’s literally 6 on 4 quite often with one of those guys slipping out to be open underneath. All-in-all, if the offense could move the sticks and put points on the board, we would be praising this defense tonight.
  2. im the biggest proponent in that. My wife would attest. It drives me crazier than anything that happens on a football field. but there was what two drops this half? Minshew has missed guys, he didn’t see a wide open Alex Pierce downfield, he overthrows an open alie-cox, he doesn’t recognize pressure when it’s coming, he can’t even see 12 men on the field and take a deep shot… he’s not a starting qb. Teams rally behind qb play. Period.
  3. what is the common denominator? The answer is qb play…
  4. 6/15 and 45 yards isn’t going to get it done with the playoffs on the line… ever
  5. let’s be honest- this is Gardner Minshew not being a starting qb in this league and shrinking in big moments. He misses guys. He has no awareness of defenses. oh look he just overthrew a wide open mo alie for an easy touchdown. It’s Carson Wentz 2.0
  6. https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/nfl-rules-will-now-treat-head-first-dives-like-feet-first-slides prove it then. because i just did.
  7. No it isn't. They changed the rule for qbs like 5 years ago. QB diving is giving himself up.
  8. Stress eating here for sure tonight... Cardiac Colts taking it to the late hours of the night.
  9. PRIMETIME JANUARY FOOTBALL. WHAT IS BETTER THAN THIS?
  10. a tie and jags loss wins the division. but- let’s just win and guarantee our spot
  11. “who do you think you are going to get at #4?” -reporter “I think we’re going to get the best player in the draft.” Chris Ballard the guy does not lack confidence, at all.
  12. Jim’s the ring leader of the circus. When a distraction is needed, he is the guy. Look at the distractions he created during the JT negotiations this year. He might be crazy, but he’s our crazy and he’s far from stupid. When you have a good thing going, you let it roll.
  13. Why not us? The time to get hot is right now. Get hot now and don't cool off. Massive game tomorrow. I'm not sure we are even in the right headspace to understand how big this game is for this franchise to finish this year. Dominate the line of scrimmage tomorrow in a big win and this team won't be so overlooked come next weekend.
  14. I was near the field during a game last year, and sat lower bowl this year. It’s definitely dependent on where you sit, because I can attest that down on the field, it’s louder than any of you are claiming. No opposing team has an advantage on offense in Lucas Oil stadium. Get out of here with that nonsense.
  15. I’ve said from day one, I doubt very seriously Ballard and Steichen will want to change there if Gus is happy here. I think he’s a professional with HC experience, and probably very good to work with, especially as a new head coach- Steichen no doubt utilizes him for input on things. I would be very interested to see what an offseason to build on this defense (top 10 pass rush- franchise setting sack record) and a very young secondary, can do next season under the same leadership. Especially if an AR offense can move the sticks and put points up consistently and put pressure on opposing offenses. Secondary is only going to get better, whether through gaining experience or adding to the roster in FA/draft. They already have imo, even with injuries decimating the locker room.
  16. Dave Borgonzi was our linebacker coach 2018-2021. Currently Eberflus' linebacker coach, interview for the Cardinals coordinator position last year. Kris Richard is another name that has been linked to us in past, but has had a rough few years it seems. I haven't looked into current head coaches that may be fired. Those are sometimes the better options. I don't know that I see Steichen wanting to go that route over someone younger that has never been a coordinator, as he may just wish to continue with Gus if that was the case.
  17. regarding the Ravens game issues that you were responding to in this post, it was 100% on Minshew, and really gave me concerns going forward with him. Kyle Hamilton came off the edge for 3 sacks and hasn’t had a single one otherwise this year. It was like Minshew was totally oblivious to what was happening. I can understand once, but to continue to be unaware of a safety coming down and off the edge was remarkable to me for a veteran qb. I am happy we have him, and he’s undoubtedly a pro, and has proven to be a winner this season. His attitude is top notch and I think he’s the best leader we’ve had at qb since Rivers. But there are some things that make me scratch my head at from a vet, and reading defenses at the LOS and adjusting protection is one that has been hit and miss for him.
  18. im fully aware of how rare they are. We were a 1 point favorite to open. Now a 1 point underdog. This could go down to the wire and into overtime. With the stakes on the line, it won’t be easy for either team. and that’s not what you said. You said the Steelers game had no impact. It does. Will it? Probably not. But if the game comes down to a multiple possession game in overtime, then the Colts strategy can and should change entirely, unless the Steelers win, which they would already know the outcome.
  19. We wouldn’t be playing for a tie… until we needed to not play for a win. Late overtime, work that clock and don’t force anything.
