  1. Did you watch the pressers? the playcall was based on personnel. They viewed Goodson as the pass catching back and that play as the one that would be open. Had JT been out there, it’s not likely open. They saw man coverage, had the play and it was dropped by a guy that catches it everyday in practice. Get over it. It wasn’t the reason we didn’t win this game.
  2. there were a few big drops, for sure. But more bad than good from Minshew in my eyes. Can’t imagine I’m alone in that. Several throws that didn’t even have a chance.
  3. 1-11 on third down. One or two plays dominate the conversation of a ball game. But never about the 10 failed third down plays…
  4. I don’t think he’s wrong. But I’m not going to be condescending towards you for your opinion. @Supermanis one of the most logical posters on this forum.
  5. “Sorry you are wrong.” That’s the most sure of oneself, condescending way of disagreeing with someone.
  6. lol. In your opinion. Don’t be so sure of yourself.
  7. Agreed. I was angry about it at first. But then I calmed down and came to my senses. Coaches put players in position to make plays. They can’t catch the ball for them. They say Goodson is the best pass catching back, and with JT’s thumb injury, he likely is. the ball was thrown behind him a bit, and he dropped it. His reaction to reporters in the locker room saying he feels like a failure speaks to the situation. The play was there, the playmaking was not.
  8. he’s not had a legit chance in free agency since 2019 offseason. Every single year since then he has had uncertainly at qb. Every single year. This is the first year they know what they are doing and qb isn’t part of the free agency. Hard to get guys to want to come to Indianapolis when you don’t have the qb figured out. I think this year will be different. I could even see Irsay putting the pressure on like he did Grigson. Time to put up or shut up. This could he Ballard’s last chance at an offseason, and he needs to view it as such. Time to make some moves.
  9. Zero chance odunze falls to us. some view him as a better prospect than Harrison. (I don’t) but that’s how highly he is regarded by some. Monday night will be a huge chance for him to elevate his stock
  10. I don’t disagree on trusting your key players. But they were keying hard on the run. They had just stuffed the 3rd down play. The playcall was there, and it was anything but cute. He says (and minshew says in his presser too, for what it’s worth) that the play to Goodson, who they viewed as their pass catching back, was practiced “a million times” according to minshew. It was anything but cute. It was a simple throw out of the backfield.
  11. what if our draft position has a playmaking cornerback for the taking? Are you still reaching for a receiver that isn’t as as high on the draft board? I don’t disagree with you on the needs, I’m just curious.
  12. I am heavy on the thought that this team would be better served having a top tier tight end and the same receiving core with AR than with the same tight end group and adding weapons at receiver. This receiving core has had no consistency or performance at qb. The tight end group has no premier pass catchers with or without qb performance.
  13. Seriously sad tackling efforts. for a team that priorities receivers that block well and corners that tackle well, he has no business on the roster. Zero.
  14. I had a coach that said that the very best that coaches can do is put you in best position to make plays, but they couldn’t make them for you.
  15. I look at it from two perspectives. His and mine. I feel the same way you do. You live and die by your key players. But from his perspective, they ran that play in practice successfully, and it was the right play- it just didn’t translate from the practice field. Moment was too big and it was dropped. He sounds convicted in the decision. They got the look. Took the timeout. It was there and hit him open in the hands. had he caught it, we still had 10 or more yards to go to score. It wasn’t like that play was going to win us the game. It just lost it. He’s going to learn and grow from this season. He’ll be his hardest critic, without any doubt in my mind. He’s a young rookie coach, playing with a mediocre qb.
  16. strong perspective here… we overachieved with Minshew. No one saw a winning season in the cards, and especially not after a promising Richardson went down.
  17. good call. Didn’t notice. fits the narrative of the game though. Missed throws/opportunities.
  18. I think Steichen was as disappointed with Minshew this season as I’ve been. He was just so limited, and he played like 2021 Carson Wentz against the raiders with the playoffs on the line. Overthrowing or flat out missing open receivers. Not making “gimmes” as Ballard put it back then. 1-11 on third down is not a team problem. It’s a qb problem.
  19. was sharing it at the exact same time.
  20. imagine if that kick would have been a few more inches to the left.
  21. live and die with #28 in this game. 188 yards on 30 carries and he watched an undrafted runningback drop the ball with the season on the line like the rest of us. Inexcusable. Shane and this team overachieved this season. Horrible way to go out. But I’m hopeful that a rookie coach that is as intense with the game as they all say is loses sleep until next September for the mistakes he’s made and he comes out in ‘24 even better for it.
  22. 1-11 on third down. that’s qb play, simply put. Appreciate what Gardner Minshew did for this team and he gave us a fighting chance. But he was not good enough throughout the season and certainly not tonight to lead us to the playoffs, let alone for any kind of playoff run. 227 yards running against a good run defense. 13/24 141 yards passing. With a true game managing qb, we are looking forward to next week. Stroud didn’t have much more than Collins tonight, but it was all he needed. Pretty good defensive effort, they definitely didn’t lose this game for us. Offense just didn’t win it. QB play has been a nightmare the last 3 seasons. Absolute nightmare.
  23. emotions are high. Let’s all log off and live our lives for the next 48 hours. Frustrating way to go out, but I’m looking forward to the offseason. It’s all we’ve got at this point.
