Really let's humanize the cops that got those two thugs off the streets. Media really is something else Bogie! Sad but true!

We gathered and made brunch at my house.  Ate on the deck because the weather was beautiful.  Played trivial pursuit family  edition because we had an 8 year old with us.  Made me feel smart. usually I'm terrible at that game

I hate how they get politicized. I'm not watching to hear some celebs ramble on politics. 

I can understand why some people prefer that say the Golden Globes or the Oscars remains neutral with no controversial about elected officials & just bask in the glow of favorite motion pictures.

However, as a professionally trained historian myself, popular figures of the time can play a vital role in moving the needle of specific issues given their platform & spotlight on such an enormous scale. Robert Redford has always been a strong advocate for the environment. Meryl Streep most recently voiced her frustrations over the current commander-in-chief mocking a disabled reporter saying what needed to be said IMO. 

Here's my point: If those under the largest limelight don't speak up for humanity & human decency then who will? To quote from the movie 'Spiderman': "With great power, comes great responsibility." 

Can some celebrities use their influence unwisely? Sure. Case in point: The Kardashians. As with anything, moderation is the key or picking your battles correctly. Knowing when to let stuff slide & when to make the necessary stand.

This old kid is staying at home, watching the College Final 4 on my big screen, drinking Crown, and ordering the biggest pizza possible! I took Thursday off and just going to work all weekend instead. I go in late on Friday anyway so I can sleep all day Friday.

Yes, it is along with 78 degrees in WI too. Woo Hoo!!! Not too shabby & a nice birthday gift to boot if I do say so myself. Mother nature knows not to toy with me. Winter is finally in hibernation in the Midwest. It's about time too.

It was in the upper 80's here today, I planted flowers, put down all the mulch, went to lunch with my nephew who was visiting from St. Louis.... all in all, a great day.

Sochi did not impress as an Olympic location at all. Of the few events, I did peak in on...I wasn't exactly blown away. JMO.

You aren't the only one SW1 as everybody is declaring Sochi a pretty big flop over tourism, warm weather, fake snow, and hotel reservations!

and SW1 still has his Beatle's Ringo Starr haircut..:-)
