  1. How bout balance the two.  Don't spend wildly in FA, but spend... we get a salary cap increase anyway... but the draft, yes, the draft,,,that is where we have to flourish with all of our picks. Ballard seems like the right guy that will have all of the t's crossed and the i's dotted.  Two years of good to great drafting, and in '19 we could be sitting here on a Saturday night nervous for our Colts tomorrow as they face the Dallas Cowboys in Miami

    Super Bowl LIV
    Date: Feb. 2020
    Miami, FL.

You don't overpay for physical defensive players like NT, LB, S. You draft well and develop them. Save your money for stuff like pass-rush, cornerback, OL.

And to be honest, Ballard isn't paying anyone over 10 million dollars a year unless that person massively shifts the defense AND is like under 27. Poe is good but not worth that money.

     lets hope not

If they don't reach a deal, I am pretty sure they're not going to tag him.  Doing so really pissed him off last year and he's basically come right out and said don't you dare do that again.  I could be wrong, but I am hoping KC is in a salary cap squeeze that results in Berry being available in free agency.

The problem is Berry is going to want to come to a 2017 super bowl prospective team and coach.  he has neither with the Colts....but would Ballard be enough to sway him?  If we have a shot at all, and I call it a VERY slim chance...those factors could kill the deal.  Then again, he could just want the money , I'd say it would take us about 15 mil / yr to sign him  that's 1/4 or our Free Agency money

Why am I so pissed off??

because it adds to the drama that the team faces

    1) huge defensive needs

    2) old players at certain positions

    3) new GM but no new coach creating weird vibes and uncertainty

    4) loss of Punter (one of the best in the entire league)

    <<OR>>

you could be pissed off because you had to stay up so late, if so, please ignore 1 thru 4 (i was just trying to guess what you were mad about)

  5. my bad, he actually did it.  even Steven Holder just tweeted that he is still not 100 percent, but it's true, I just read his entire tweet (long winded and very complimentary of the city of Indianapolis.

I'm still shocked, he brought a level of levity to the Colts that will never be replaced, ever.  I wish him well in this new BarStool Sports endeavor.

The rumors went from Hard Knocks to a player retirement to Pat McAfee joining Barstool Sports.

    What a day.

lol, they had us hook line and sinker there for about 1 minute.... until you saw AV doing the "balls" questions and then Rappaport walked in.... all staged alll fake

  7. McAfee segment is coming up soon (BarStool Sports)

EDIT:  wow, i waited up for that, it was not funny (or was it me?)

EDIT2: It was a fake McAfee retiring presser.  AV was there, and Ian Rappaport.

I ate all of my Super Bowl appetizers staying up this late, where do i send the bill, straight to JMV's house or to his radio station?

    LAST EDIT:  very weak

    Someone should update the OP.

The only Colts news i've read is:

Adam Vinetieri will be attempting a Guiness record of 20+ field goals in under a minute over 25 yards.

Guessing this is what JMV was talking about.

All JMV could muster up is something from TMZ-Sports

And just like that, JMVs ratings drop

I'll bet that's it too. Although I don't know if I would call it BIG news

exactly, and it's not a long field goal attempt, its a 20 yard field goal done multiple times as fast as possible.   It's for a good cause, but not breaking Colts news.... JMV should have bit his tongue on this one.

I'll give that a try. Is it inside the stadium? I think next time we will just eat ahead but often my wife is shopping etc and I can't because we are strapped for time. I've had the Pork Tenderloin, Cheeseburger, Steak and Cheese, Nachos, Pretzels, Hot dog....just none of it was good...I mean like it was under the heat lamp from a Saturday even and put back out on Sunday. I don't expect much but it just has always been very disappointing.

yes, in the stadium and it's good !!!

    interesting article regarding this topic

I heard something on Bob and Tom and the Chick McGee podcast this week that got me thinking.  Curious if it is related.  It wasn't anything obvious and could be my mind thinking way out of line.  If I am right it involves one of the most popular players on the team.......

    Most Popular:

    1) andrew luck

    2) TY Hilton

    3) the "Punter"

    4) Dwayne Allen

    5) AV

So I'm guessing AV is retiring, correct?
