You must have him confused with Harry Trumpet
-
I loved his dad Cris Carter in Minnesota so he comes from an exceptional WR bloodline. I'm torn because I'd love to see him flourish here, but we can't keep dudes who don't make the final roster just to be sentimental either. I wanna win now & that means cutting ties at the end of August so be it.
Good luck man. I'm pulling for ya, but we can't keep a guy just on potential alone & how are we gonna split reps amongst TY, Moncrief, Allen, Fleener, & Duron? Someone's drawing the short straw.
Not to mention Andre Johnson . Brother Duron wasn't brought here as much for now as the future . He will still be here in 1 capacity or another. And reps is a good problem to be worried about . Im really pumped about our stable of wide outs. One things for sure Luck has to be chomping at the bit to get this party started !

I will give Werner the benefit of the doubt , but all honesty don't see him as a starter on this years team . Of course time will tell.

I don't see the Bills cutting Manuel at all. He's still got, I think, 2 years left on his deal. He's at least good enough to be a backup. If they were to cut him, they'd have to pay out his entire salary anyway. So really, the only way they would cut him is if he really is not better than the 53rd person on the team and I don't think anyone can say that would be the case. They might trade him, but that's completely different than cutting him. In fact, I would say that most the guys on that list who are still on their rookie deals and drafted in the top two or three rounds won't be cut for that same reason.
I don't disagree at all , this was not my ideas at all , just wanted to know what people thought. Besides that frankly Im bored.

This forum is full of hindsight geniuses.
good one.
-
Yeesh.....that's a lot of former Colts on there.
Thought the same lolly.
-
Shonn Greene might not set the world on fire but he averaged more YPC then Sankey did last year. I don't think it would be a good idea for them to release him just yet.
Oh I agree this is a persons opinion from ESPN . We know these are speculation , but I can see some of these along with other surprises .
-
IMO Manuel would learn a ton from Has. , and I like Manuels physical ability.
-
Let me ask you guys this, what about an even swap of hasselback for manuel? Grigson could call the Bills and see if they are considering cutting him, if they are, we give them Hasselback so they can make a playoff run this year and draft a franchise qb next year. In return, we get a solid backup qb for Luck's career and Manuel's. What would you do? It would be a decent idea IMO, assuming this is accurate and he's a cut candidate.
Never lol , Hasselback is to good and smart to part ways with. IMO if Luck goes down he gives you a chance to win and wont beat ourself from his mistakes.

My computer is slow, so I cannot comment. I think the one' above are interesting...any others?
Chris Chester OG Redskins , Josh Robinson CB Vikings.
-
Hmm, Hakeem Nicks and Donald Brown look interesting.
-
Obviously Ballard for us is the first thought and he will be fighting to stay on the roster. The two names that stuck out to me are EJ Manuel and Brandon Carr. If Manuel got cut, I wouldn't mind signing him to a cheap contract and making him our 3 with a chance to be the backup. It could have multiple effects. We could have a half-decent backup for Luck when Hasselback retires, or if Luck goes down, EJ could get some inflated trade value for us if he fills in for Luck and our receivers make him look good. I think Brandon Carr is the other one. He's still a decent corner and even though he wouldn't be someone we'd sign, it's interesting the Cowboys may cut him with Claiborne as bad as he is (yes I know the drafted Byron Jones in the 1st).
Hakeem and donald are former notables, no else surprises me. I think this was written really poorly as a side note. I agree with the info, but the layout was ridiculous having to double click on a slide to get the info on a player. Really bad presentation on a site I've never been on.
Im with you the 2 you mentioned are 2 that I wouldn't mind looking at. Ballard if healthy will make this team if not hes probably gone JMO .

According to this source .See anyone interesting ? http://www.rantsports.com/nfl/2015/05/15/15-nfl-veterans-who-will-be-cut-during-2015-training-camp/?utm_campaign=RantSportsFB&utm_source=facebook.com&utm_medium=referral#slide_14

I knew he was hurt all year and we only got a small part when he was there , I fully expect the beast to come out and play if healthy.
-
Everyone likes this. Nobody cannot like this.
Agreed seems like big Art has an axe to grind and a lot to prove to the Colts faithful.Or should I say a chip on his shoulder for opposing Offense .
-
IMO the 4 WR set giving Luck gets the pass protection spells total nightmares for opposing defenses.
-
I think that we need to see how everything plays out and training camp. Injuries may come in. He can return kicks and punts. We do need to see him in the passing game....Just in case TY heads out of town for more money than we can give him.
Oh I do believe he will be involved in 4 WR sets.
-
And....let Dorsett and TY run by them too? Johnson may not run like he used to, but with our TEs and speed...I cannot wait.
Dorsett has decent hands and one thing you cant teach blazing world class speed . IMO his biggest impact this year will be in the return game.

The fan hysteria about this pick is nothing surprising, nor is it a gauge for whether the pick was good for the team. Fan reaction certainly isn't going to decide Grigson's job status, now or in the future.
My original response to you was 'don't sell Moncrief short just because you want to defend the Dorsett pick.' And that's because you spent three or four posts talking about how overrated Moncrief is, and then ran back to the bunker of your self-proclaimed objectivity to fend off anyone who disagreed with you. And my point was, setting Dorsett aside, Moncrief is a really good talent and a high level prospect.
On top of that, I find it ironic that you've argued for Dorsett as BPA, but are now ignoring that, along with Grigson's comments/context, to say that picking Dorsett is a referendum on Moncrief. Like I said earlier, Grigson's comments about stockpiling at a deep position because they don't want to pass on an "undeniable talent" explain the Dorsett pick very simply. The rest of your argument is entirely speculative, and in the face of evidence to the contrary.
I really like Moncrief and folks forget Dorsett hasn't played a down in this league.
-
Moncrief is really strong and can go north and south. I like the way he has done that instead of trying to 'juke' CBs....he seems to really like the contact.
Physical WRs we now have , and to myself that's a major plus , when you go against a NE type secondary that likes to rough you up.
-
I hope the entire receiving core stays health and learns the system. I will then worry about who gets the playing time. Will Andre have His nagging injuries? Hilton with his physique going to get the big hit.
I would be the happiest Colt fan watching if guys like Moncrief, Dorsett, Brown or Carter step up in times of need...too excited to see these guys !!!
I like Moncrief for his hands size mixed with the speed , if healthy will be a beast . As I recall Pagano has the same outlook. Not to mention we are loaded at WR.
-
Ill just sum up Tevin Coleman in my opinion in 2 words from when I watched him......Donald.....Brown
Same running style
Negative Coleman much more power between the tackles. Could beat you slashing or with power , threat of the home run always there.
-
Great point. At one point he was trying to do too many things and he really got out of psition. I believe one of the reasons: A guy whose name 'rhymes with' Cassius Vaughn.
Another great point Cassius I cant stop anyone Vaughn .
