  1. I will admit that the o-line looked better late in the season & yes, the additions of Gore & Johnson should keep the 1st down chains moving, but to me, I still see Luck running too much behind our line & I wanna Andrew take the snap under center, slide backward, go thru his reads, & throw. Andrew just seems like he doesn't have enough time to release the ball without having his feet carry him to another spot where he can get the ball to either Allen or TY.

Luck's protection is better than the beginning of this past season, but nowhere near I'd like it to be. Andrew's still taking too many hits & I don't wanna see him hurt. If he goes down, we are so screwed. Grigs has got to provide Luck a better pocket where he can just go thru his reads & bang release the ball. He's scrambling way too darn much.

Your correct , however we were playing with rookies a lot , and dealing with injuries , never had the same line long enough to develop the chemistry needed . With the addition of Herremans , if the line stays healthy I think they will be vastly improved. Gore brings the threat for the run on any down, and nothing slows a pass rush more.

  2. To paraphrase Bill Polian, size has little to do with it.  It has to do with skill and whether or not they fit your system.  You could have Mount Cody on your roster, but if he doesn't fit your system, he won't be of much use.  The Colts had the leagues heaviest roster last year, but that size doesn't stop the run.  Ability and scheme fits do.

Ive got to agree , and being at playing weight and in shape help. We have 3 DLs that may have the talent but playing over weight slows them down and limits strength .If they get in shape the right way would make a diff. Im almost sure we will take a DL in the 1rst.Your also right about game plan or scheme ,if its not right doesn't matter who you line up it wont work against a well coached and prepared team.

  3. Kevin      Ive got to agree here , I really don't think people here realize in Moncrief  we got a diamond in the ruff ,with serious tools. However from what ive seen so does Carter , could make for some very interesting 4 wr sets if they choose to go that route. All kinds of speed all kinds of size , not to mention might be the best group of hands sense Luck has been here. May have to throw Brown somewhere in the mix. IMO we are loaded at WR not a bad problem to have.

  4. That's right. Deny the truth. Rogers is far superior to Favre. I don't recall any other elite QB saying "It's not my job to mentor another QB." Plus, Brett did nothing to calm fans in GB when they lodged death threats against Rogers for pushing #4 out of WI when Favre was being a spoiled brat & couldn't decide if he wanted to play football or not.

And before you claim I'm making this up, remember I lived through the whole Favre era & Rogers era BC & I saw this whole self inflicted, rift unfold directly.

Wait, are you claiming Favre's greatness is a sham? It's not a sham, but it is overblown. I agree 100% LOL!

In all seriousness, you love Favre & I detest the man because of his ego & the passes he always got in the NFL media for creating turnovers at the worst possible moments.

Ive got to agree , Rodgers is one of the better QBs ive seen in my time and his stats will be right there with the all time greats when its all said and done. Per say if ive got Rodgers in his prime and Favre in his , im gonna take Rodgers everytime . Just flat out has more talent and the poise as you say.

  5. With you on that Brother. Pulling for Vick to make it back.

Bowen: This was a popular question for Chuck Pagano and Ryan Grigson at the Combine last week. Ballard is coming off two season-ending injuries, both non-contact instances. The “good” news this time around is the injury occurred early in Training Camp allowing for plenty of rehab time. Now, at the same time, you have no idea how Ballard is going to react physically, (or maybe more importantly, mentally) coming off two devastating injuries. He was an extremely productive back in 2012 as a sixth-round rookie. Grigson talked at the Combine about the “core traits” Ballard brings as a runner. Pagano said Ballard is right on schedule with his rehab. Ballard has to be treated as an unknown heading into 2015, one that could reap some serious benefits though. Only thing ive found.

  6. Umm, it's not even close. Tom Brady isn't even the most popular NFL player, much less overall athlete.

Just take Q rating. It's not the be-all/end-all, but it's a strong point of reference. Michael Jordan's is generally between 43 and 51, depending on when you check. It's been the highest among athletes every year since 1991. His Facebook page has over 26 million likes (Brady's has 3.6 million likes). Brady is generally behind Peyton Manning, and often behind Drew Brees and sometimes Aaron Rodgers in terms of popularity among NFL players. A year ago, he was voted the least popular QB in the NFL. Some of that is jealousy, but really he hasn't been that popular and well-known throughout his career, especially compared with other name brand athletes.

None of this really matters, but it would take a very narrow lens to see Tom Brady as anywhere near as popular as Michael Jordan. Maybe in the Northeast. Anywhere else on this planet, it's not even close.

    Agreed

  7. Somebody is living in some sort of bizarre world where Tom Brady is omnipresent. While that may be true in New England, it is not even close to being the case in the rest of the world. It is farcical to suggest that Brady is as well known worldwide as Michael Jordan.

    Got to agree whole heartedly.

  8. I can't prove that, but I agree with you 100% Jay MJ is a marketing machine in terms of just shoe revenue profits alone. Will Brady's Uggs make a dent in 23's Air Jordan's bottom line financially?

Nah, I just don't see that unfolding personally.

Agreed and Peyton has his hand in the fire in several national endorsments as well. In all honesty MJ dwarfs them all.

  9. Yes and no. Commercials or TV brand are just part of the puzzle these days. I would say the Internet is much more comprehensive and global in reach than TV and also less expensive. That is a big reason why Brady created a Facebook profile this pas year. He actually hired a company to help him with that as he understands as a modern day athlete he has to have a presence in social media. But it is really a myriad of TV, print, and Internet/social media and that is where I think Brady has a leg up with his super model wife. Her reach is huge and she has teams of people that market her.

Well I must be outta the mainsteam lol , I wouldn't recognize her standing in front of me.
