No problem, T! You want the Panthers to take SB 50? That's cool. However, dissing Peyton for the sake of it, doesn't make sense to most ColtsFans. I get the mindset of Carolina losing but one game/never winning a SB and stating they "deserve it". Only if they take down the Broncos & Manning will they "deserve it".

Tall order IMO gonna be the best D Cam has seen all year . Experience goes to Peyton on that side. Going with Denver in a fun and close game.

In terms of what he has done for the franchise. Elway has done more for the franchise as a player is what I meant. If Peyton went to the Jets and won the SB then you'd have the best player ever for each franchise (Peyton>Namath) but that's not the case with Peyton on Denver and Indy.

Elway was a lot like Brady surrounded with the right players and staff on both sides of the line.

Why do I want Peyton to get another ring?

    1. Epitome of class on every level

    2. Teammate on every level

    3. Leader on every level

    4. Champion on every level

    5. Respected on every level

A guy like this that served as our QB for 14 years & gave all of us the thrill of winning every single one of those seasons? It's a no-brainer. If he gets another ring from SB 50?

How could not anyone, let alone ColtFans, be cheering for an accomplishment like that?

    Well stated

I think Manning felt pretty annoyed that when he was cleared to play he was not the starter.

Yesterday...today....tomorrow.....Osweiler will not play even close to the Manning standards.  If healthy, Peyton will forever be my Quarterback.

1 QB  in his caliber if not for short career would be Burt Jones , loved the guy.Even his stats are not near Peytons

I think a lot of folks around here think that after he's done in Denver he'll come back to Indy to sign a 1 day contract and "retire as a Colt."  I think those folks will be very let down when that doesn't happen.  But as far as Canton goes, he'll just go in as Peyton Manning with no association to any team, just as everyone else has done.

By the way don't think hes a big Elway fan.

    Not me.

I come down mostly on the side of the OP, but its something I struggle with.  If he wins this Super Bowl, his legacy will be as a Bronco.  A narrative has been and will be crafted about the team that callously cast aside an all time great player who went on to multiple Super Bowls with his new team in a very short period of time, and Colts fans are not going to enjoy being on the negative end of that story.

He's gone forever.  People's reluctance to let go of him gives me concern about the loyalties of this fan base.

Think your wrong about the Legacy , IMO he hasn't played with them long enough.

I don't know if NE even tries to establish the run. last game, they used 6 O-linemen for awhile.

Last week, they threw 3 out of 4 plays.

I think they might try to run in again.....to chill the Bronco pass rush. the Denver rushers are fresh at the start of the game.....To Brady might want to beat on 'em a little befor e he goes to throwing (almost) every down

I agree Mark they have to try the run or Brady will be running for his life. I don't think you beat that D with a 1 dimensional attack.

I also think Peyton would like to play beyond this year.

To do that..he has to play well AND win today...I agree with Reggie.  MUCH more at stake for Peyton

Would love to see Peyton get this , however don't think it in his best interest to play beyond. He gets another ring please retire . Don't think his body will handle another season.

Reggie is on the NFL Channel. Everyone on the panel agree's this game is much bigger for Peyton's legacy than it is Tom's. Tom has nothing to prove, he already has won 4 SB's and most think he is the GOAT anyway. Peyton is regarded as a Playoff choker by tons of people but a 2nd Ring would eliminate all of that talk. Eli having 2 Rings to his 1 doesn't look good either.

    Well put .

I could roll with having Matt Forte, but I am not keen on the idea of having two 30 year plus old running backs.  Lamar Miller has speed but I don't think he's a number one back, or the type of back that can bang the football on tough runs.  Pure speed guy to me, but he is the kind of back that fits a zone blocking scheme I'll say that.

Im a Bears fan second to the Colts ,my wife and I don't want him on either team. Hes great in open field but not a physical back. Is good catching and running. We need a good all purpose back and as you say not 30 or over.

Yep, I sure do brother. I'm torn over who to root for since Bruce Arians used to coach in INDY along with Tom Moore. Not to mention Corey Redding & Dwight Freeney on their roster.

But, I also have a ton of respect for Ron Rivera from the 85 Bears under Coach Ditka too man. I have a ton of admiration for Greg Olson too. That guy could be a coordinator in the NFL someday soon when he's done playing IMO.

Understood mixed feelings as well as you know im a fan of both teams mentioned. However my biggest loyalty is to the Colts so have to stick with Arians.

No, I don't think so. Panthers have continued to show vulnerability with every person on their secondary not named Josh Norman. They have gotten away with their front 7 making plays but if you make their secondary a factor, it is not that all worldly like the Seahawks in 2013. If the Cardinals keep Carson upright, they can exploit the middle of the field.

Panthers' D is not the kind that will dominate you, they will make timely plays from time to time but the strength of their team is their O-line, that has been rock solid giving Cam Newton all the time he needs. The Atlanta loss was a tired team losing to me. The key to winning this game is not Carson Palmer or the Panthers' D, it is the Cardinals breaking Cam Newton's protection and how well they contain Cam.

We will see sunday I see Arians team taking this 24 - 17
