  1. In all fairness, Peyton Manning got up in Jeff Saturday`s face. Cursed Donald Brown? Maybe he earned that right. Jay Cutler also plays in 85 mph wind, sub zero temps in Chicago outdoors? Maybe he`s just cold thus the scowl haha!

  2. That is how it works with all GM's. They have a staff that they have out combining the country for players. The CFL pipeline has a little to due with the fact the Grig's played in the CFL I believe. It is like some people don't want to

Do you realize there are only 5 players that are in camp that were with the team when Grig's took over in 2012?  Two are kickers.

It easy to point out his mistakes. He has to be doing something right, we have won one more game each year and Grig's is responsible for 48 guys who will be on the 53 man and the other 10 that will be on the PS.

Luck is a no brainer looking back on it now but there were plenty of people who felt like RG3 was the way to go.  I always wanted Luck.  There was a choice to make there not quite the no brainer in 2012 as it is in 2015.

You don't remember all this nonsense:

But here's why I like RG3 just as much, depending on the scheme you want to run:  He's a hell of a QB, too -- and he's a much better athlete than Luck.

He's Michael Vick -- except he's not a knucklehead off the field coming out of college.  And before Griffin is done, he'll be everything Vick should have been.

RG3 ran a 4.41 at the Combine -- beating all the running backs except one (Lamar Miller, who ran 4.40), and coming within .05 of Stephen Hill (the fastest WR).  That is rare speed -- Vick speed.  And his 39 inch vertical -- insane -- validates that athleticism.

He's got a stronger arm -- not as accurate yet (and that is a big edge for Luck, and very important), but stronger.

He's got better feet than Luck.  He can make plays when the pocket collapses, and he can make every throw in the book on the run.

His speed immediately impacts the way defenses have to play him.

You'll have to mush rush Griffin, with your ends not getting too far upfield, because if he breaks contain outside, he can go the distance.  Luck isn't that kind of threat.

The NFL is going more and more to mobile QBs.

That all sounds great until he gets tackled and one of his skinny baby giraffe legs gets cracked. Meanwhile, back at the ranch, Andrew Luck keeps motoring along and does these same things very well. Luck IS a mobile QB when he NEEDS to be.

  3. He's not physical enough, lacks the instincts, probably couldn't cover anyone. But I disagree with most, I don't see Werner as a good run stopper. Walden is simply a solid run stopper, and Werner can't beat him out....what's that tell you?

Brian Urlacher, 6`4- 258 was once benched as strongside OLB and lost job to Rosevelt Colvin. Moved to ILB when starter Barry Minter was injured, and the rest is history. Is Werner at same level as Urlacher, of course not, but I want to see it tried

Werner is listed 6`5 255..Freeman is like 6'1 240. How is Werner "not physical enough"? I`d have to see him try and fail at ILB before I`ll give up the idea

  5. Had never heard of Geathers til after we drafted him. Watched the Youtube highlight tape and I was floored. His burst to the ball and hard hitting tackles along with most times the ball carrier went down after first contact really jumps off the screen. It was a highlight tape so didn't get too amped up over it thinking well there must be flaws, but this is great news and hopefully a great beginning to big things to come!

  6. I totally disagree with the "super bowl or bust" analogy here. Yes they progressed to the AFC championship game and have made steps forward each year but every year is different. There is a salary cap with a minimum that has to be reached and cant be over spent on? All 32 teams spent money on FA`s and current players on roster. This isn`t MLB. How the Colts spent has yet to be determined, but looks like they upgraded at key spots with youth and veteran players. So has everybody else? To put that kind of pressure, super bowl or bust, on a team because of past success, it is unfair, contrary to this article. A disappointment yes, but 31 teams will be disappointed at the end of the year.

  7. If i could i would take Malcom Brown with the first then take TY Montgomery with the second third.

But can you imagine going vs Dorsett twice a year? The Texans were trading up with the NE.

So we signed the Texans best offensive player AND took the player they wanted? bahahaha!! love it!

  8. I always remember something BOTT said that I never forgot: Grigs doesn't have the best track record drafting defensive guys for us either thru the draft or free agency. WRs, TEs, CBs he's very good at but at LB or safety he always seems to go after a CFL player or an experienced veteran with 2-3 solid years left at at best. Maybe 2015 will turn that trend around. I hope so.

It would be interesting to see Dustin, krunk, akcolt, Gavin, Superman, Jvan, NCF, or BOTT breakdown or rate their assessment of Grigson's selections on defense since he's been the GM here. I'm not mandating this. I just respect their analyst skills that's all.

If I didn't mention you specifically by name, please don't take offense. There's a lot of people on here who are excellent x's & o's film study fans. Anybody can do this, I just know the people I mentioned are good at doing this in simple terms without overwhelming others with fancy vocabulary & jargon & I always learn something when I read them.

That would be a good read for sure. I think we need to look at the roster moves as a whole work of art, free agent signings (including our own) along with new drafted/undrafted players. Most of those results are yet to be determined, even for previous years players, Bjorne Werner, who some here call a bust, says he has yet to play healthy. What if he`s right and we haven't seen him at his best yet? Jonathan Harrison was a pleasant surprise, I don`t think anybody saw his potential coming. Those picks kind of equal things out in my mind, and they have room to grow. Not being a homer but I really believe this years Colts team will be a lot better and is going to surprise a lot of people especially on defense.

  9. IMO, What`s really going to help with "IF" the Dorsett pick was good or not may be how well the defensive players drafted turn out to be. Dorsett is getting rave reviews so far on his own merit, but if Anderson, Geathers, Parry etc prove to be solid it will make Grigs look even more genius

  10.

I hate to start this up again, but what the heck as there is not much news going around the web at this time.  I can kind of sympathize with him because he was better than Harrison. I knew they didn't view Shipley as the future though.

"'Last year was trying for me. I mean, it really was,' Shipley said.

"... Shipley was told by Colts management that he had played well, but said neither coach Chuck Pagano or general manager Ryan Grigson gave him "a specific reason" why he wasn't starting at center.

"'It was hard to keep my mouth shut,' Shipley said. 'That's the biggest thing. I knew at the end of the day I didn't want to be a cancer. I did not want to be a cancer to the team. We had a great team. We had a great season going, so I didn't want to be that.

"'I just kinda had to go to work. I got a pretty fun personality. I couldn't. I just ... I was there. I went to work. I did what I had to do. I did my football stuff. I did my stuff and I went home. But I couldn't be 100 percent me because it was so hard.'"

It was equally as hard to watch as a fan, best player AT THAT time was not playing. So it wasn't just us "pundits"

  11. Well I'm from Harford County and I guess we don't have the suave and manners of the Prince Frederick/ Waldorf crowd ! Lol Most of the folks down there are Redskins fans anyway, and most were never Colt, or current Ravens fans ?

You are correct. I`ve been surrounded by Redskins fans my entire life and now more than enough Ravens fans too. I've heard it all as far as remaining a Colts fan, but I`m 45 years old and too late to change now. I`m still mesmerized by the Horseshoe lol

  12. There is really nothing to get over. As a Baltimore fan, its tough what happened, but history is history. The first chapter of this history occurred in Baltimore, and it was a very fine history. All the records will say Baltimore/Indianapolis, like the 2-2 Super Bowl record. Irsay has the records, but the old events still happened in Baltimore.

To me, its phase 1 Baltimore Colts/Phase 2 Baltimore Ravens. Those who have a straight line from Baltimore to Indy, to each his own. I personally enjoy talking about the old Baltimore Colts, answering any questions people have on the Ravens, or commenting on current Indy Colt topics, as an AFC rival. Like I said, whether they have been in Indy or Baltimore longer is pretty irrelevant now, because I think both cities have had a good run of NFL football success.

I live in Southern MD. Baltimore is like another state to me. I don't feel the connection anyways, never really have. Most people ive run across from up there are arrogant and rude anyways, different world than us country folks in southern MD
