I have a soft spot for Dokken. Tremendous band with vocal harmonies, killer Lynch guitar riffs, & they were solid at cracking out memorable tracks. Don Dokken crossed over into radio very well meaning even people who weren't really into metal liked those guys.

  2. Happy Mother's Day! For mothers and for soon to be ones or ones that have passed on living in your hearts. BTW any plans over on it?!

As far as debut albums are concerned, this Scorpions one still holds up today.

"Big City Nights" & "Still Loving You" were awesome tracks, but I liked the snare drum on...

I remember when Dave Mustaine released this album & I knew Metallica made a huge mistake firing him. Every track on here is groundbreaking in the metal arena. Nobody was putting together such complicated arrangements on guitar. Not even close.

Plus, Nick Menza RIP made sounds come out of his drums that truly blew the doors off your house & shattered your windows too. LOL! Hard to believe such a scrawny guy could bring the thunder & lightning behind his kit but he could. Amazing man. Jesus. See...

I always feel compelled to defend Megadeth because they always get dismissed over Metallica & Dave is a genius in the metal realm. He truly is. Right up there with Ronnie James Dio. No, I'm not kidding.

I always associate TL with Eddie Murphy & Nick Nolte from the movie "48 Hours" especially this song.

The drummer side of my persona had to post this...

It's top notch playing by a guy named Phil C.

The Wilson sisters even make covers sound like original masterpieces. Aaron Neville would agree.

Yes, I like classics like "Crazy On You" & "Barracuda" too.

Classics include: Can I play with Madness? Moonchild, Clairvoyant, & of course; 7th Son Of A 7th Son.

Checkout this acoustic, Spanish guitar cover of 7th Son. It blew me away. Instrumental. No words.

I freaking love stuff like this man! Incredible.

I like this dude as an actor and thought I may share some perspective?

Check him out in "Lawless" and "The Drop" and see the range.....

  11. As a kid I was such a sports fan that I’d wake up early on race day and listen to the Indy 500 on the radio!

  12. I just felt like compiling a list of solid covers just as good as the original itself or slightly surpassing it. No judgements here folks because imitation is the highest form of flattery & recognition right? Quality is quality. Feel free to add at your leisure of course. All genres welcome naturally...

Everybody has heard the GNR original, therefore, let's change things up a bit with a speak easy jazzy version sung by Casey Abrams instead just for fun shall we...

Checkout a band called Thunder & Rain dropping "Sweet Child O' Mine" Bluegrass style on ya. Not bad.

The song "Apologize" originally done by One Republic has been covered a lot, which tells you how good a track really is...

Here's my personal favorite straight out of Germany from a band called All Ends. The dual female vocalist treatment gives it some teeth. My kinda jam baby.

Country singer Luke Bryan also lays down a decent version of this number as well. [Not displayed here.]

  14. Realized I have the same wedding date as the royals on the 19th. I don't pay attention them anymore, but some have told me this. Mine will be better. ;) Really have not watched or did much sports lately, sorry everyone. But I paid attention to who we drafted and score watch at times in basketball/baseball.

MJ, the King Of Pop, lays down the classic "Billie Jean" below.

Chris Cornell shows us all how to make a signature track his very own. Is there anything this man couldn't do? My God man! Unbelievable...

Way to put yourself out there Lolly! That takes steel ones bro. Nice & heavy just the way I like it!

I was trying to head bang to it but, it doesn't really work with short hair. I don't have long hair a la late Cliff Burton style anymore from youth man for the proper rotation effect. :D

Seriously though, nice work! Good band names too. Plow sounds like a dark metal band from the Netherlands & Tested On Animals is a clever name because we're not sure who the animals are. Everybody on stage or the audience who enjoys your brand of morphed rock n roll classics. Good stuff!
