Per NFL.com push.
There is a Ballard connection from back in Chicago.
-
Agreed. I am looking forward to who the new coaches are so we can find out what kind of defense we are planning to run.

We're definitely standing on a razors edge honestly. Make the wrong pick here and we've essentially wasted the rest of Luck's career.
Correct. Hiring the wrong person will have long-term implications on the Colts.

If he wants to get back into coaching it might be his only way. No one is going to give him a HC job...
That is nonsense!
If Jeff Fisher takes a coordinator position then I will drive to your house and hand you 100 bucks!

I could understand that hire.
I wasn't poo pooing your thread. It just really gets annoying because we're going to hear about a new candidate who is definitely, maybe, probably going to be our coach.
We still haven't gotten the Shaw or Cowher reports yet so I'll throw those in here.
I agree!
I think most Colts fans just want to get this process over with so we can go on our honeymoon. If we choose McDaniels then I am asking for an immediate annulment though!

I've only seen Ian Rapaport talk about last offseason concerning Gruden to the Colts. Right now it's only Gruden to the Raiders rumors.
Ian Rapoport brought up the possible connection with Gruden and Indy about an hour ago, live on the NFL Network.

What's this?
They were just talking about it on the NFL Network.
Ian Rapoport was talking about this so it's not just some no-name journalist trying to throw flames on a fire that doesn't exist.

I bet it ends up being no one mentioned..lol
Very likely.
I would rather go with someone like Pat Shumer.
I like the low-key, put your head down, and get the job done approach.

..He was celebrated after the Colts win Sunday and they gave him the game ball..
Our players loved him
Sometimes as fans we get a twisted perspective of the way things are.
Pagano was very popular and, when Andrew Luck was healthy, the team won...
We were 4-12 this year because Andrew didn't play, not because of any coaching.
Does simply changing the coach mean we have more winning seasons.....?
It is 2018, and we (collectively) still have a lynch mob mentality.

This gets annoying after a while.
Everyone and their mother will supposedly be a candidate now.
So supposedly we want McDaniels, Toub, Gruden and Harbaugh so far.
Can they just write an article that says everyone is a possibility? Makes it easier to follow.
This is more than smoke.
Gruden is serious about coaching NOW!
Discussions of whether he ends up in Oakland, Indy, or wherever is justified now. Before, it was just speculation. Big difference!

If Oakland is dumb enough to offer him partial ownership, no way he doesnt end up there.
It is not really ownership. It is monetary based on the value of the franchise.
But no real ownership.
If the Raiders gave a coach ownership then the rest of the owners might exile Mark Davis.

He has at least one other suitor, with arguably a more attractive situation.

Good. Let them have him!
Hopefully they wrap him up immediately so we don't have to worry he brings his stench to Indy.

Players reportedly did not like playing for McDaniels
That's what I have been saying. Just listen to the guy talk! He is not a guy we want making decisions for our team.
Something does not jive with that dude, man.
We bring him in, and I think we can flush this franchise down the tubes for a few years.

This will get some backlash but, what about Fisher as our DC? He’s always run a good defense and his downfall was having a strongOC.
That's not even logical. Why would Jeff take a lesser role than a HC? He hasn't been a coordinator since 1994.
-
Chuck's old job as DC in Baltimore just opened up.
Ravens defensive coordinator Dean Pees to retire.

Lol because the colts brass cares what you personally want.
I never said they did or they would. I do have a right to an opinion though.
And my opinion is that we pass on Josh McCheat.

What if they win 75% of their games? Will it still suck then?
I don't think he will ever be "my" guy.
That said, success is success. I won't cry if we win, but I doubt he will make us a winner. I would have rather kept Pagano than bring in McCheat!
I just don't like the guy. I get bad vibes every time I hear him speak.
-
I am not a Josh McDaniels fan. It would personally suck for me if we hire him. I might go negative on this board.
NOT THAT THE COLTS CARE WHAT I THINK.
That, said, I will express my thoughts here - on a Colts message board. You know, the place where Colts fans write about the Colts. The same forum that was specifically designed for such conversation.
I think he is a cheater. Actually he is a proven cheater, cause he was caught. I don't want his stink anywhere near the Colts.

While many believe Jon Gruden will be the next head coach of the Oakland Raiders, there are some whispers of Gruden coming to Indy (NFL Network). We know that Gruden, Peyton, and Irsay were on Jim's private plane last year talking about this. The door is wide open.
Gruden is absolutely serious about returning to coaching. He has already started forming his staff, including Rich Gannon as his quarterbacks coach.
We could possibly be on the verge of witnessing another Dick Vermeil.
-
That was quick. The post game radio show isn't even over yet. They have just a made it official. Colts app pushed it too.
Seems a little odd for it to happen right now.
I was not expecting to hear anything until later tonight or tomorrow.
-
Sounds to me like some of you want the Colts to win when you want them to, and then lose when you want them to. By that logic, we might as well lose every game in seasons when we don’t win the Super Bowl.
I am not going to try to argue with that kind of logic.I am out!
Happy New Year!

1a meaningless win
2 who cares
That was me
So your answer is for the Colts players and coaches to lose the game on purpose?
They are all playing for their jobs. It is their job to win.

Well for starters, the Colts Won!
Second, we probably made Houston completely reboot everything. In all likelihood this loss sealed O'Brien's fate.
Tonight, we can all reboot, and be thankful for another year.

No it doesn't. Could have been a great 3 day weekend with Barney Fife gone and the potential of getting a haul in the draft with the 2nd pick.
but hey, the colts win a meaningless game. How exciting!!
I am sure if you think about it for a minute, you will find that it is a great three day weekend.
Pagano might be working very soon

I agree.
He might need a stop-gap though. And the Ravens need a defensive coordinator.
