If TY puts a double-move on Carr then it's a TD.
Just saying.

Had the Colts been worth a crap this season then this would have been a great Primetime game. The scheduling Gods could not have been any nicer to the Colts. No one to blame but us for this season.
#Colts2018!

Well, we can call that a win. Only gave up 3 points.

There cant be a worse tackling defense than the Colts.
Our D-Line is stout, and plays top notch NFL caliber Defense. Our interior linebackers over pursue, and miss every angle imaginable. We have no instinct at ILB, and only come up big when we guess correctly.

That Colts run defense is great early on.
We cannot play pass defense for crap though.

I was just listening to the JMV podcast with Kevin Bowen from today. Bowen brought up a couple of names that I don't think many of us have given much thought about.
The Offensive and Defensive Coordinators in Seattle:
Darrell Bevell
Kris Richard
Bowen pointed out that Ed Dobbs (formerly an executive in Seattle) is now working in the Colts front office and essentially second in command behind Ballard. Bowen said that Ballard trusts Dobbs a great deal. (no surprise since Ballard hired him this year)
I would be surprised to see Bevell as a candidate. I can see Kris Richard being a candidate. He interviewed for the Bills job last January. Obviously I have no idea what Dobbs thinks of him but I think he is at least given an interview. That certainly doesn't make him a favorite for the job but I think he is someone to keep in mind.
Makes sense.

Would you bring him back?
Yes he is obviously pretty old by RB standards, but he still is playing fairly well at his age.
I have actually pondered this over the past few weeks. I think we should bring Gore back on a 1-year deal. His role will be reduced, but he will bring that veteran presence that we need.

I'm not suggesting the guy I'm going to throw out will be THE guy....
Honestly, I don't hear his name linked to the NFL at all, so maybe he's a college coach all the way?
Any interest at at all in Urban Meyer? He's got quite a thing going at tOSU... he know how to spot talent and he's assembled a huckuve coaching staff. His teams are loaded with players who seem ready to transition to the NFL quickly..
What say you, Colts Nation? Any interest in Meyer? Just asking....
I would be interested in hiring him. He’s a midwestern dude.
I love the fact that he started his coaching career at the high school level.
Stellar career! His overall coaching record is 176-31 (10-3 in bowl games). He is 53 years old, and should have lots of football days ahead of him.
Outstanding dark horse choice!

I'll throw out a name that hasnt been brought up yet. Chris Petersen, HC of the UW Huskies. He has a 129-28 over his career and has had success with multiple teams. His team this year had the #1 rush defense in the nation, and I think if they manage to shut down Barkley in the Fiesta Bowl he could be a name that starts popping up as a potential candidate for a few teams. Not sure if he will actually want to leave for the NFL, though.
Hes not my first choice as our new HC, but there are plenty of worse options out there. I wouldnt be against it if we picked him up.
Very nice! Well done, Sir!
Chris Peterson is a very interesting candidate. I believe this is exactly the type of character and leader that Ballard and Irsay will be looking for.
He could be our pick.

Cooter? You guys wanna hire a guy who was arrested for aggravated Burglary? I’ll pass. I’m not going to be bothered with the “It was a mistake that he owned up to and he learned from it and has been clean since”. I’ve heard it too many times.
I don’t think the charges will stick. Rumor is They were just trumped up charges planted by Rosco P. Coltrane.

I don’t want anything to do with McDaniels. Pagano is 10 times the man McDaniels will ever become.

Before we go dark horse, we should attempt to come up with a list of the 5-10 most likely candidates. I have no idea who they are.
People have been talking about front runners all year. This is a chance to think outside the box. When we hired Pagano, not many people guessed we would hire him. He was a dark horse.

OK, let me preface this with the fact that I will go with whatever Ballard picks and so this is purely a "wild card" pick......Bill O'Brien.
Per Rotoworld today, rumours circulating that the Texans are looking to clear house on coaching, including O'Brien. The guy has excellent knowledge of the division, is experienced (which complements an inexperienced GM) and works well with quality quarterbacks (you could say his time in Houston has been a huge struggle based on QB struggles).
Its not a sexy pic but you could see the logic.
That’s an interesting thought to ponder. Well done!

This is one of the things that makes the world go around. Imo , there is literally chance he returns in 2018. I would like be willing to lay 10-1 in any bet that I could afford.
So Imo , a guy that has no chance to be the coach next year is not a "good dark horse candidate." I would define a "good dark horse candidate" as a perspective coach that has a "way better chance od getting the job than people give credit to. " The fact that everyone expects him to be fired does not "automatically qualify him to be a "GOOD" dark horse candidate.
I guess what I'm saying is "IMO opinion" there is no chance that Pagano will be our head coach next year. Is it possible ,, sure . It's also possible Kate Upton could fall in love with me but it isn't going to happen
Do you know what a dark horse even is? LOL
I’m not sure you’re getting the point of this thread. Sometimes I get the feeling you try to find things to argue about. Eventually you will have to accept that people have different opinions.
Thanks for bringing absolutely nothing to the conversation.

Count him out . There is absolutely no way Pagano gets another year.
You could be right, but you also might be wrong.
I think Pagano will be fired. However, until it is a done deal, he remains a good dark horse candidate, and that’s why I chose him as my second dark horse candidate.

Lol, I was just writing Pat Shurmur as an option when i saw a notification that you posted your post.
He does fit in the category of retread coach who could succeed in the NFL with another opportunity.
I really like the pick. Nice work guys!

Dark horse #1. Pat Shurmur
#2 Frank Reich
And I hope we do not even entertain Jeff Fisher....
32 minutes ago, stitches said:Minnessotta's OC Pat Shurmur. What he's done with questionable QB talent the last several years is impressive. He made Sam Bradford and Case Keenum look like Brady.
Pat Shurmur is my favorite guess from you guys so far. I was torn between the Vikings coordinators.
I also like like the Frank Reich pick. I believe he will become an NFL head coach soon.
