I can understand the concern, but when healthy its an amazing unit, that we dont need to break up...... yet. In the draft, we should continue to build depth at the enterior, so that 2-3 years from now, we can plug the newbies in to start.

Mock Draft w/ options

Sweat moves awesome at 360 He would seem like a good Grover rotation, until Grover retires or leaves (He is 30) If Sweat moves awesome at 360, you wonder how he would do at 325. If he stays at the current weight, he may be better suited as a NT in a 3 - 4 -

I was in on Keon Coleman, but will wait to see his 40 speed at Combine He is dropping on predraft lists One of the draft talking heads, said that Coleman was separating against single coverage only 15 % (They said that Brian Thomas was separating at a rate of 70%) The single coverage will be much better in the pros Coleman is a monster on contested catches, but we have one of those already. I really want a home run threat -

Thats a great question on DT When Grover was out we got mowed over Some folks like the ENORMOUS DT T Vondre Sweat to the Colts I think he is a 3-4 NT vs a 4-3 DT Byron Murphy or Masaan Smith may be consideration to back up Grover, (IMHO) -

We may disagree a bit on Zaire, He is turning into an excellent MLB (IMHO) If we replace Zaire, that would mean that we would need to backfill 2 LB positions Speed has moved to WSLB and I think he is getting better. We are left with a SSLB spot that could be filled by a number of LBs I really like these 2 to be SSLB on this team 3. Smael Mondon – Georgia - Round 2 or 3 (Borrowed writeup) I could see Mondon have one of the best, if not the best 40 of a linebacker at the combine. At 6’3”, around 230 lbs, teams that need a linebacker to drop back in coverage will keep an eye on him. Coming from that vaunted Georgia Bulldogs defense, he not only has the size/speed to help in the back end but also the awareness to make a play on the ball when targets come his way. He may seem to be a bit undersized, and maybe not the best-run defender, but I think he has a ton of upside that could draw a team to target him on day two this year. 7. Junior Colson – Michigan - Round 3 or 4 (Borrowed Writeup) I don’t see a major deficiency in his game. Colson is solid against the run or pass. My biggest concern is that he can be overly aggressive at times. He’s got solid awareness and is coachable, so NFL teams will get that cleaned up. -

I feel very confident in 44 as MLB for this team, so I wouldnt want to replace him We do need a SSLB or WSLB depending on where Speed plays We need a 3rd outside LB and their are a few available in round 2 or 3 -

I hope that we rotate some of the guys who did well into the game and not just see Moss 100%

Some great picks on here, thanks for putting the time in this. A few thoughts Trotter has the build for a MLB, and would not seem to have the needed height to play WSLB Awesome player though, If you believe the "experts" he should be there in round 2 If Jared Verse is there he would seem to be a good rotational piece at DE, Brian Thomas is going to rise up boards and could fit that needed separation WR1 that this team needs Sweat has been amazing but it used in 0 and 1 technique. He seems to be the perfect 3-4 NT, but they would need to run the guy through the agility process to see if he could be effective in a interior 4-3 lineman. He seems mobile for his size, and is immovable by double team. He would probably be an early down guy. Corely is an amazing talent but I like our current slot WR. I love Hicks as the needed FS that this team is lacking I am glad you addressed Guard, as we need to keep adding Again, thanks for doing..... my opinion is just that.... not worth a nickle -
I may be in a minority here I absolutely want the Colts to get into the playoffs and SB this year But I am not worrying about it....... what happens, happens..... of course, we cant control what other teams do. Famous AL quote - Just Win Baby I was HOPING that this team MIGHT make it to 7 wins - Wow.... very encouraged I feel like we are playing with house money at this stage This team needs to stretch in my opinion to do something in the playoffs Just think next year..... if we fill a gap or two in FA or draft, AND our QB can develop (And stay healthy) WE Could be the team to beat in the AFC

I hope Cross continues to get better ..... Maybe we end up with WR, CB, LB and rotational pass rush DE in this draft, and we go BPA when we draft from this group -
Agreed But We just need to win the last 3 games against teams that we SHOULD beat 11 wins gives us a spot, no matter what happened in the past The one head scratcher is the Raiders They clobbered the Chargers and scored 63 BUT...... the 6 games prior, they averaged just 14 points per game Which Raider team are we going to face? The 63 point offense or the 14 point offense? We can beat the Texans and the Falcons As well the Raiders I don't see this team matching firepower of the Dolphins, so I hope we get Jags, Bengals, or Browns first in playoffs

Very impressed with the win. Being down by 2 touchdowns and then turning it on shows the tough, never quit mentality of this team We have the coach of the year (I hope) in our employ This defense looks so much better with Speed on the field We may be facing Cincy again in playoffs, having Brents (He looked a bit rusty yesterday, but first game back) and Speed on the field should stop the forever yards on the screen This team can compete Tempered optimism, from this old Texan !!

I would agree with that We dont seem to use Taylor in that manner this year. We have Evan Hull, who seemed very good in that role in the preseason -

I need to research Trey Taylor I may be in a minority but I think between Blackmon and Cross we have the SS role covered Have you watched James Williams tape? He is 6-5 and can run I would LOVE to have him start at FS for us next year -
Mock Offseason Rebuild and NFL Draft

Thanks for putting this together Always good to read thru these Cooper Dejean seems like a Ballard pick Team captain, aww shucks midwestern kid that has size and speed. Can play anywhere in the backfield I LIKE the fact that you are addressing the FS position. Its high time we had a playmaker back there 2 things I would gently question I'm not sure about Byron Murphy for the Colts. He would seem to scream 3-4 NT. I would like to get a true WR1 in the draft. We will have to pay Pittman 20M per year. Having the other WR come in at a FA $$ would seem to be too much for the position. This would seem to be the year to get a WR1 in the draft Again..... Thanks for submitting -

I dont disagree Cooper Dejean "seems" like a Ballard sort of guy. "Cool-aid" is an amazing player as well. Dejean can play all over the defensive backfield. He may actually turn out to be a pro bowl Free Safety I can see a value from stepping up the CB room, but would wonder if the true shut-down corner might be wasted in this defense. Many teams invest in top tier shut down CB, then they offer more blitzs. We blitz very little. A CB that is fast enough and can tackle is valuable to play zone and support the run to their side when needed This defense stays in zone more than most teams. with zone, a play making free free safety position is so very important on this defense, and my hope is that we invest this year in round 2-4 If Jared Verse or Jer'han slid to us, it would be hard for me to pass on them as they both bring MUCH needed pressure. The WR group is long and talented If we go defense in round one, my hope is that we move up in round 2, to get a WR (Just like they did with JT)
