  1. Not to be a debbie downer but... it feels like Rigoberto has lost something in his leg after his injury. We might be needing to address that next off-season.
  2. AR needs to learn how to take hits... IMO one of the reasons he took that hit so bad was because he seemed to not expect it/be relaxed about it... needs to brace for those if he's going to be running like this... defenders will just use that chance to hit any chance they get.
  3. The first half of the MIN game was not as good offensively as this one. The MIN game literally everything that could have gone in our favor did, it was fluky in so many ways... and that's why it wasn't sustainabe. This one looked more like a well-coached team executing ... for the most part.
  4. The biggest problem with Nelson is not that we drafted him at 6 and it's not that we paid him top money. It's that he's gotten injured and not played to his level after he got paid. If he played like he did during his first 3 years, IMO he was worth both the #6 pick and the top contract if he had played at that level from the beginning of his career. Very few people would be doubting re-signing him to that contract had he kept up that level IMO.
  5. I can't really disagree with the video evidence, but I'd like to point out something for context... Pittman actually played like 100%(edit: just checked - 97%) of the snaps this game. He had zero chance to catch his breath. Even the top of the top of receivers don't usually play over 90% of the snaps. They usually get a play here or there to rest and regroup for the next series. Just a few examples from this first gameweek - AJ Brown 91%, Stefon Diggs 84%, Mike Evans 84%, Devante Adams 90%, Tyreek Hill 66%, Waddle 64% etc... The problem is we cannot afford to let him rest because if he's not there it's like we are playing with no receivers at all...
  6. They spent a lot on free agents because they didn't spend a lot on RBs. The Eagles whole RB rooms cost them 5M last year and the moment their starter needed to get paid they let him go and replaced him with another cheap option. Same with the Rams - their RBs in their SB season - Sony Michel on rookie deal(1.7M), Cam Akers on rookie deal(under 1M), Darrell Henderson - rookie deal(under 1M)... 3.7M for the whole RB room.
  7. Very nice video breakdown of AR's week 1 play. Also... highlights some nice things Steichen is running with this offense.
  8. Having one doesn't. Having him for 15M a year might lessen your chances...
  9. BTW all those injuries to RBs ... kind of prove the point of being reluctant to pay big money to one... especially since he's already 'hurt'
  10. I had really high hopes for AP this season. I thought his strengths fit very well with what I expect AR to be good at initially and I thought there is a potential for very good synergy between them. It's probably still early and I want to see more of a sample and against different types of defenses that might allow more of a vertical game for this offense... but... with that said... I've been kind of disappointed with him both in the pre-season games and in the game vs the Jags... Lets hope he does better going forward...
  11. Not sure about Mike Evans. He's already 30 and I'm not sure how he will age. he is already out of his prime and his and AR's timelines don't really match very well...
  12. Him needing new contract at this exact moment might not be a negative. I would much rather have JT on 2023 RB contract than on 2021-2022 McCaffrey/Kamara/Henry/Chubb contract. If all he can get is like 11-12M a year this might be a good time to give him a contract if you've decided to give him one. There might never be better time to give a RB a contract. (if we think this is a blip, rather than a new trend?)
  13. I wouldn't trade him for 2 4th rounders. 2nd and 3d is where I've landed with my expectations...
  14. I guess an option would be for him to return and play at a high level until the trade deadline and for some contender to suffer an injury at RB... or for them to be underperforming and their running game to be lacking? I don't know... I guess we will see...
  15. I don't even know what the end game is at this point from Colts' perspective. They supposedly want him to play out this year... or trade him if they get blown away by an offer. I don't know what would have changed for them to trade him in the next month? Would they get any better offer than they did earlier?
  16. I'm kind of done with the politics game between JT and the Colts. Just waiting for the resolution one way or the other. I'm glad the Colts have told him to do his job(rehab) and not be a distraction in the meantime. I'm glad he wasn't at the game the other day with the camera panning to him on every Deon Jackson fumble or stuffed run. I'm glad I could enjoy that game for whatever it was. If he's ready to play week 5 and the Colts are good with it... good. Get him back in play. If they want to trade him - sure... just... I'm done with JT. He's gotten enough attention for a player who hasn't practiced with the team for 10 months and has very publicly requested a trade, almost certainly is FAKING an injury to stay away from team activities. Good... stay away.
  17. I don't have the all-22 but I saw several cases where Richardson ignored free crossers in the short range in favor of waiting for things downfield to develop and then nothing materialized. To be honest one of them is so egregious that I would imagine it would be teaching tape for him. IMO Steichen will show it to him and tell him - just take it... He was also a tick late on some throws... For example, the completion to Alec Pierce could have been a big opportunity for catch and run if he threw it early, but he waited for deeper routes and by the time he threw it, the defender was already barrelling down Pierce's chest...
  18. it's EPA/play... expected points added per play... https://www.nfeloapp.com/analysis/expected-points-added-epa-nfl/ It's one of the main "advanced" stats
  19. Anthony RIchardson is a top 10 QB in the league! ... Almost...
  20. Brock Bowers might be a good consolation prize. This draft seems pretty good in the top 10. There are great players at all the most valuable positions. QBs, OTs, WRs and TE, EDGE, CBs...
