  1. One trade that might be worth exploring is we tag Pittman and the Panthers tag Brian Burns and we trade with them and sign Burns to an extension. We might have to sweeten the deal with a player or pick but we finally get our premier ER. Like you said they have to sign Brown. Pick Brown to extend and get Young an excellent receiver. We still have our 1st pick to use to trade for a WR1 or use in the draft.
  2. Another thought I had was that Jim Irsay’s hospitalization/medical condition might be slowing down the signing of Pittman and possibly some of the other player decisions that need to be made. I have no doubt Ballard is handling the daily routine goings on in the organization but Pittman’s situation and maybe a few others might be waiting on Jim’s thoughts and input. Jim likes to tweet things out all the time. He’s proud of his players and I would guess he would probably make a comment if we extended Pittman. We don’t know his condition and Ballard could be just waiting for Jim to return to the office to finalize things. Even if it’s just a courtesy. Just a thought that crossed my mind.
  3. I thought she made a lot of excellent points. I agree he is lucky to be coming back again for another crack at getting a Super Bowl. And as luck would have it it appears he has not only hit on a quarterback last year but also the head coach. So the time for him to be aggressive is now. He’s in the same division with Stroud and Lawrence. That same old same old horse has left the building. I think he knows it’s now his time to be bold and attempt to seriously improve the roster with the resources he has available to him. With the quarterback and LT on cheap contracts it’s now or never for him. So yeah she hit the nail on the head I think.
  4. Why can’t we give his agent permission now to go see what the marketplace looks like? We did that with Taylor. Ballard said he is on great terms with him. So if they are good friends he should be able to do that. I think if he really wanted to leave the Colts then Ballard would accommodate him like he did with Gilmore. I think he wants to stay and play with AR Taylor and Shane. I don’t think he’s looking for top of the market money. If their relationship is what Ballard says it is and I believe him then I think he’s going to get rewarded with a very nice contract like Ballard has done with his other players. I don’t think this is going to drag out at ll.
  5. For me I’m confident we are going to extend Pittman. The five year extension will result in low cap hits for the first three years. So Ballard will be able to trade for a WR with a high cap hit this year and next. Brown has lower cap hits but he will be more expensive to acquire than McLaurin who has higher cap hits this year and next. Washington will have a new coach and rookie quarterback. They might be receptive to dealing McLaurin at this time and using our pick to help rebuild the roster. Not sure if Brown can force himself out of Philadelphia either. Right now I’m thinking McLaurin has the best chance of being acquired. The quicker the Pittman extension happens the better. Then other moves can be worked on. Regardless it’s fun to dream and speculate.
  6. I think Aiyuk and Pittman overlap each other more. Their speed is practically identical. McLaurin is the faster player. I would rather have McLaurin personally. If Hicks is correct that they have inquired about him in the past makes me think they believe he would compliment Pittman nicely.
  7. Yes. I think he’s more explosive than Pittman and I think that’s what they’re looking for.
  8. Possible on Pierce but can Ballard really take the chance? I imagine Reggie and Shane will have a lot of input. Need to make some calls though.
  9. The safety on the Giants. Did I have a senior moment on the name? Lol
  10. The question was specific to the 15th Pick. He did not trade back with the first pick. Subsequent rounds he was wheeling and dealing.
  11. I would be shocked if Pittman is not brought back. Ballard has always signed and rewarded his own players who have performed. Many thought JT was gone with his contract dispute but here he is. Ballard said in his press conference they are close. I think he’s coming back. We just don’t know the contract details yet.
  12. I would be thrilled if we could get Terry in a trade and then sign safety Xavier McDaniels in FA. That would add one explosive player to each side of the ball. That would be a dream offseason for me.
  13. Seems to make sense. He just might be the explosive player they are looking for. I think he knows inquiries are be made.
  14. Just a hunch but I think he knows Ballard is looking for a WR1 at Shane’s request.
  15. Someone had to be the first one. Many more meetings to come.
  16. WR 1 receivers seem to be getting traded a lot lately. Adams, Brown, Diggs, Hill, the list goes on and on. Teams looking for that missing piece to try and get them to the top. Brown has never come across as a troublemaker to me. Crosby is threatening to ask for a trade if Pierce is not their coach. Does that mean he is a trouble maker and you don’t want him on your team? Not to me it doesn’t. He could force a trade as well. Brown has been paid. It’s not about money for him. He is not happy right now just as Crosby is not happy right now. Different circumstances sure but not a big deal in my mind. Both elite players worth having on your team.
  17. I think Shane and Ballard have seen enough of AR to feel confident enough to trade the pick now. Ballard’s press conference opened that door for me.
  18. The only positions that would make sense for the rookie deal argument for me are quarterback, LT, and ER. Pierce and Downs are already on rookie deals and nothing much to report there but promise. Trading for one now makes the most sense because you will get that immediate impact for your offense when time is of the essence for the quarterback and LT positions. That’s why the Bills traded for Diggs and the Eagles traded for Brown. Hopefully Ballard is shopping our first pick for an explosive receiver.
  19. Yeah. The Eagles are a team in turmoil right now. A lot went wrong and it probably went South after the loss of Steichen and Gannon set in. Brown had career highs playing in Shane’s system two years ago. In 2022 the Eagles gave up pick 18 and 101 for Brown. Two years later giving up our 15th pick seems in the cards if we are interested in trading for him. If he really is unhappy and wants to leave reuniting with Shane would probably be high on his wish list. If Steichen vouches for him I think Ballard would do it. Let’s face it Ballard is under pressure to get the team into the playoffs. Brown could be the added explosive difference maker he is looking for. Even considering personality concerns I think he would do it. I mean how much time does he really have? Probably two years. I think he would do it if he had the chance.
  20. Browns cap hit is only 12.4m. this year and 24m in 2025. Then it jumps up in 2026 where you can rework the deal if he works out. He’s already played in Shane’s offense and was fantastic. If Ballard is looking for explosive he’s the perfect match for Shane. I can see Ballard trading that 15th pick. He’s only 26.
  21. The common theme in both games is bad tackling by the defenses. Amazing to watch. It’s prevalent throughout the league.
  22. I think players earn their playing time in practice. Then they keep it by playing well on the field. I think being so young it most likely took awhile for him to finally see the field. I think coaches play their best players. They only hurt the team if they don’t. Maybe he can keep it but I would feel better if we had a veteran playmaker back there at this point.
