So if we don’t bring in a quarterback in FA it might mean we will ride with Sam for now and acquire Fields when the Bears make their decision.

I mentioned the drama in an earlier post. It does worry me. That’s the only downside for me. He and the Colts really need to be on the same page on what his role is. I’m not sure he could do it. But skill wise he would fit in nicely. We will see.

So if this is where we are I honestly prefer Fields to any of these guys. I think he fits our offense better. I wouldn’t mind trading a day three pick for him. I read where it isn’t a highly rated overall class to begin with so a day three pick is fine with me.

Moore is the one I am actually worried about. I think his signing or going elsewhere could be holding up any future additions to our secondary. It’s like waiting for one domino to fall to trigger the others. If he signs elsewhere it could cause a change in FA direction due to his leaving. If he stays then you proceed with plan A. I can’t believe Rigo won’t be back. Blackmon is 50/50 for me.

I don’t think this schedule is the end of the world. Many of the teams you would normally worry about have lost many starters and star players to FA and cap cuts. The Colts have really lost no starters. The Texans , Packers, and Lions are the only teams that I see are worrisome. The Bills and Dolphins don’t scare me or the Steelers. This is how I feel today and we haven’t added any FA yet. We are in a great spot right now. It can only improve now not get worse.

No worries for me at backup. More pressing matters to address.

He would be an interesting option but I think the drama it would cause could have a detrimental effect on the season. That would be quite a demotion for a young player knowing he will not be playing or even competing for the starting job. The Colts would really have to be sure of his acceptance of a new role. At this stage of his career I’m not convinced he could do it. An older veteran would be less of a gamble and a safer route for the team to take imo.

I’m actually surprised and disappointed Moore hasn’t resigned. So far I think Ballard has paid the players he resigned very well. He has taken care of his own players like he always has. I have to believe he has a very good offer in front of Kenny. But so far nothing. I think tomorrow is going to be a very big day where hopefully Kenny resigns and we acquire a playmaker or two. On to day two.
