  1. I agree with Andy equal parts d-line, LB's, and back end of the secondary. That being said, the secondary produced a TD, 2 interceptions, and a fumble recovery and the d-line got a 4th down and inches stop. The Davis interception negated by penalty was a typical call by a Ron Winters crew (three blind mice plays in the backround while they make that call). We survived on D that's the best you can say.

  2. When BA answers a question he is often clear and specific (i.e. Luck's high throws are a recurring technique problem). Compare BA's answers to the platitudes we got from Caldwell last year that often left me wondering what did that mean, what did he just say. Night and Day difference.

  3. I honestly think if you look at what Marchibroda did with the Lydell Mitchell when he took over the 75 Colts and copied that type of short running and passing game that the Colts offense and Luck would thrive. Ballard could easily be the new Lydell. Mitchell was somewhat of a bust (drafted ahead of Franco Harris) until uncle Ted took over and that 75 Colt team got plenty of big chunks too (don't forget they had Roger Carr and he and Jones hooked up for a 90 yarder that season). That was before west coast offense was popularized but that offense worked and what is old could be new again. I know it's not gonna happen but it wouldn't hurt modern OC's to look back over there shoulder once in a while.

  4. I would answer the question about Luck's regression with the answer to another question. Has the offensive line regressed since the beginning of the year? If the current play of the o-line is better or equal to the beginning of the year then I would say yes Luck has regressed some. If the o-line play has regressed since the beginning of the year (and I think it has) then I feel that extremely poor pass protection is really the reason for the drop off in some of Luck's play.

  5. What Nate doesn't take into account when he uses stats to say the Colts D is the worst is that stats tell a person what the defense did but it excludes for the most part when the D did any particular thing. On defense 1 great play can negate a series of bad defensive plays. In theory a D could allow the opponent to drive into the red zone on every drive but if they always got a stop and held the opponent to a field goal or less would that be a good D? Depends on what stats you looked at.

  6. It was a joke because how bad the line was playing. No one expects anyone to draft the same area in one draft. C'mon Man

Oh I see now you expected 2nd and 3rd string linemen playing out of positions to block JJ Watt and an elite front but they didn't so they are playing real bad, now I get it. (C'mon man)

  7. I'd have to agree with moving Anthony to right tackle. He looks lost at times, doesn't know who to block or needs help 95% of the time. Put Dwayne Allen at LT. He was doing his job on a number of occasions. Number One lineman prospect needs to start playing like it.

You're aware that it was Allen was responsible for the blocked punt in Houston by not being able to hold his block long enough? Allen is a good blocker (IMO) for a TE but don't put him out of position and expect a positive result that's what happened in Houston. Moving players to new positions is not always a good idea, that's not football.

  8. No, almost a silly statement. Take the Detroit game form example, the Colts make key plays to hold Detroit to 2 field goals at the end that could easily have been TD's and then get a 3 and out or that comeback does not happen. Vaughn chasing down a RB going for a sure TD.  Likewise they virtually stone the Packers in the 2nd half until that last Packer TD drive but get the final stop at the end after Reggie's TD. They are not a good defense but the WORST defense in the league does not make these types of crucial plays to win/seal games. And those are only 2 examples of good play by the defense this year. The Colt D has done okay with limited talent.

  9. Watched most of the game against the Raiders last week and Quinn was sacked like 5 times and knocked down 9 times and he took an absolute beating. Since they couldn't protect Quinn against the Raiders I'm hoping the Colts will have the same gameplan and will try to beat the stuffing out of Quinn (or anyone else they play at QB).

  10. I don't understand the title of this thread. The answer to drafting all o-line is no. The answer to drafting all blank for any position is also no because that's not how a draft board works....it would always be a bad idea. Should o-line be important in the next draft absolutely but in some ways I think using some cap money and signing a o-line free agent is a better proposition.

  11. Luck seems to believe in BA and trusts what BA asks him to do so that is good enough for me. If and when BA leaves the OC should be a choice that has creates continuity for Luck and all the rookies (Fleener, Allen, Ballard, TY, Lavon, AQ). Same coaching tree.
