  1. That was Bremer's reasoning? Lol. I guess Reggie, Castonzo, Bethea and Mathis better watch out.

He said something like Drake was not "one of their guys" which only seems to make sense if it's a choice between Nevis and Hughes.

  2. Score and game itself has no meaning but does it decide spots for bubble players....it does for sure when 2 equal players fighting for one spot and one shines and one doesn't. I watch the game exclusively to root for the bubble players I want to make it (i.e. Griff and Cesar but in the case of these 2 I think they have secured their spots already).

    JUST IN CASE

    GO GRIFF

    GO CESAR

  3. why would we put in Moala with no OTA's Training Camp/Pre season when we have all kinds of depth, I dont think Moala is ready or will be ready soon

Pagano said he will play vs Bengals unless he's a no go he take a spot by the way Pagano talked about him (as in ready not fighting for a spot).

  4. Colts sports writer George Bremer suggests that Drake Nevis could be the odd man out on the DL.

I hope they don't cut Nevis. He is one of our best pass rushers.

The reason he gave was that Nevis was a hang over from before Pagano/Grigson but that seems implausible since Matthews and Tevaseu are in that same boat and both of those guys have had considerable playing time as Colts and will never be more than 3rd stringers playing a few downs. Nevis has more potential than those 2 guys and as least as much potential as Lawerence Guy. If he's cut i'll be shocked and it will lower my opinion of Pagano.

  5. I have watched all 3 Raider preseason games and I suspect he will start both because Flynn is unable to throw the ball down field and Flynn is Kerry Collins like in his mobility when rushed. That being said Pryor can only make plays with his legs or when a play gets extended because of his legs and coverage breaks down. If you can keep Pryor in the pocket and make him beat you with his arm he has no chance. Aside from the QB spot the Raiders are a really bad team.

  6. I don't know why so many Colt fans have such animosity for Donald Brown. I think of DB as very similar to Don McCauley (a Colt running back from the 70's). McCauley was a first round pick that played on very bad Colt teams his first few years and was not very good....but later in the mid 70's playing on the Bert Jones Colts behind Lydell Mitchell, McCauley became a very solid contributor (scored a lots of TD's, didn't fumble much, and could both run and catch the ball). 10 TD's in 75.

I think Brown is the 3rd best back on the team but he plays hard and on a better team with a better  O-line than the last few years he will show that this year and like McCauley I'll be glad we kept him around.

  7. Brown missed cuts to openings last year on i`m guestimating maybe half his rushes. He stank.

Against Cleveland i about fell out of my chair when he actually cut to Big, well blocked holes like ANY decent RB is paid to do.

    Good job Pep & O-Line.

hum, i recall he dropped an easy pass. Lets not bring that up.

You must not have watched the overtime game in the Tenn.  last year. The whole overtime drive was built around Brown's running(6 carries on that drive) and then Ballard got the glory on the last play......but it was Brown that did the work. Brown isn't always good but he has had his moments and I like that he is playing special teams this year on the kickoffs.

  8. Well let's take the worst case situation and say that Mathis does not produce in the D this year (lack of tackles, sacks, FF, pressures) is there even a single person in this forum that thinks that Mathis' motor has diminished in any way and that he will not play all out on every play chasing, running, hustling, never giving up on any play? So if that would happen that he could no longer produce impact plays in the D then couldn't we  just move him back to special teams (where he started) and that motor would produce like it did when he played special teams in his first couple of years cause that's what special teams is (speed, size, heart and hustle).
