  1. I wouldn't trade Luck for any other player in the NFL. Andrew is a horse, he'll play down after down, for years and years, he's smart, has his head on straight, has an unequaled work ethic and competitiveness (well....maybe Peyton) and he's as talented running and throwing as anyone of the other young QB's. Make an argument that there is a more talented QB in the NFL...Rogers, Brees their careers are more than half over and once upon a time Bert Jones was the most talented QB in the NFL....but it didn't last. Andrew Luck is built to win and built to last.

  2. This is a really amazing post and an awesome way to look at different positions on the team, but what in the world does it have to do with DHB's one year contract????

I know that I must get new socks and underwear every other month and Ryan Grigson knows he needs new RB's every year.
  3. I think DHB has a ton of upside, so why sigh him to a 1 year deal. If he has a great year then we will have to fork out big money to keep him.

If we were to sign him to a 3 or 4 year deal and he doesn't pan out then we cut him.

I know Grigson is smarter then me, what am I missing?

QB's are like that great Jacket in your closet that looks great after 10 years and you know you'll wear it till your wife makes you get rid of it, a good OLineman or Dlineman is like the pair of pants that fit perfect and you want to wear it as long as possible if it continues to perform you'll keep it, the punter is like a really nice sweater, it's seasonal and you don't wear it that often so it tends to last quite a while, but RB's are the socks and underwear of the NFL, it's best to change them as often as possible cause they don't last that long and you don't want to be caught wearing ones that will embarrass you if you're in an accident.
  4. He is not stupid, he might begin to figure it out.  Earlier, I said he would have to buy into the scheme.  Somebody like Belichick will sign him, and talk him into his new role.

They been trying to talk him into that idea since Jr high and it has had no effect. I think he will go to the Jags because they will let him play some QB and he can put fans in the stands in Florida.

Oh yea he may not be stupid but he is his own biggest fan.

  5. It would be interesting to have Tebow on the Colts.  I would like to see him used as a TE, in a spread offense, and as backup QB to Luck.  The occasional wildcat play could improve the red zone offense.

He would be a low-risk pick up.  Would not cost the Colts any draft picks.  He is realtively cheap, somewhere around $650k.

First, if you've read his book you'll know his whole career he's been told he should play linebacker, he should be a TE, and he is NOT receptive to this idea!

Second, listen to the Colt players in their interview they all say the same thing.....we had success because everyone bought into the system....Timmy is not the buying in type he believes in one thing above everything else, himself and his ability to be a starting NFL QB.

  6. We are a good offensive line,  a good defensive line and a excellent second safety away from being a strong SB contender. I think Luck behind a 1st class offensive line even with current backs, TE's and WR would be scary good. I think our defense would be good enough with a big improvement in the DL even with our current LB's and corners but we have only one passable safety.

  7. I would be okay with Clyde for 2 reasons, he has to know the current system very well and could keep the terminology/playbook in place so no big learning curve for Luck, also he knows the old Tom Moore playbook like the back of his hand and there would be some useful ideas there to revive/blend into the current offense specifically on the calling of 3 plays and let Luck read and decide which one at the line, but I would only hire him the the understanding that his job is not as an innovator but to create continuity for Luck. I think there is no question that Peyton was his own OC on the field by half way through his career and that's what we should expect from Luck, a big name OC might hold the reins very tight and not allow Luck to do what Manning accomplished (that was the genius of Tom Moore).

  8. 1. Freeman as Dire Straights sang "tackles for nuthing and your chicks for free" or something like that

    2. Allen an every down swiss knife tight end

    3. T Y Hilton potential Roger Carr replay

    4. Vontae Davis our first cover corner in a long time and not afraid to play physical

    5. Ballard reminds me of Lydell Mitchell wish they would throw to him more

Of course we would have never won 11 games without Cory but age pushes him back on this list.
