  1. Let's play a game of who is your favorite current Colts player and why. I'll say my favorite player is the franchise himself, Pat McAfee. Supurb kick off specialist, very good punter, best tackling punter in the league, he's our field goal kicker in waiting, and finally while he is serious on the field he know how to keep it fun and in perspective off the field.

  2. This is a most impossible question to answer…..no matter how I answer it I would argue with my own answer…but…but…what about….

Still my answer would be Darius Butler who as the 3rd DB has allowed us to play so much press man and when they go to his guy he makes the plays AND if he wasn't acquired who would fill his shoes Gordy (?OMG no), Vaughn (No please) do you see my point?

  3. Yea, whatever, Luck is so far the best of the young QB's there is no comparison and as the sample size of on field performance grows this will become even more obvious. But really who cares if the fan boys of RG3 or Wilson or ? ever come on board. The process of these people is to find fault in Andrew's superior abilities and performance at all costs in order to prove that they are smarter than the conventional wisdom that Andrew would be and has been the best. This is the human nature of people who have fragile egos and need to prove themselves smarter than everyone else at all costs.

  4. are you serious? I have nothing against the guy(even though he hasn't shown a bit of talent yet) but he's not worthy of wearing L.Mitchell's jock strap.

Tongue in cheek, but the main point was that Trent is not going to be a plug and play RB, put him in power sets announce to the D your going to run him and get out of the way. Lydelll passed from a semi disappointment constantly compared to a rampaging Franco to a truly talented workhorse because uncle Ted saw the potential to make him a multipurpose back. If the Colts continue to target him so little the defense will always be ready for him. Reggie's high # of targets are going to be dispersed to a variety of players and Trent needs to be one of the players in the front of that dispersement line. Also it wouldn't hurt if Stanley could suddenly channel Roosevelt Leaks (tongue in cheek yes I know that Stanley couldn't carry R. Leaks jock)

    Peace

  5. he has been targeted 7 times since coming to the Colts in 5 games. For a running back thats a significant amount......He has 2 receptions out of those 7 targets

significant amount of targets for a RB would be the 80 catches in the 75 season when Lydell Mitchell led the Colts and theAFC with 80 receptions ( to my knowledge they didn't keep targets in those days). That would be how you turn TRich into a ray rice type of weapon.

  6. I think the Colts are pursuing trades but the likelihood is small and when nothing happens by next Monday they will elevate PS player(s) and or potentially bring in 1 F.A. perhaps not a WR but a TE, a FB, or a RB. I suspect they might double down on playing the jumbo packages even more and trying to run even more. Perhaps they will line up more frequently in jumbos and then shift Fleener more into the slot as a third receiver (as they did with Dallas).

  7. If they start Schaub and they lose he will never play for them again Kubiak will be fired eventually and finally they can be left for dead this season and beyond. If they start Keenum and lose they will still have hope and believe they are alive, the press will cut Keenum a break and by extension Kubiak and they will eventually turn back to Schaub to try to salvage their season. I hope they start Schaub and we can have the opportunity to crush and finish both Schaub and Kubiak in Houston.

  8. There is no replacement but.... I think you have to use multiple "replacement" receivers to try to cover for Reggie's many functions. Reggie runs many short routes  (pick routes) where the route is designed for a short gain....that's Griff (precise route reliable hands). Reggie is a great blocker that's not Griff or Lavon.....maybe Rogers? Longer routes on the passing tree maybe Lavon gets a try. Crucial 3rd downs and 2 min. drives those targets have to be DHD and TY and unfortunately Fleener. Most of all, Reggie never needed to come off the field and now Reggies replacement will need to constantly rotate and that dictates more deliberate offensive play by the Colts. Although I don't have a lot of confidence in the individuals we have in the system.......I do have confidence the Colts will find a way to make it work....the coaches and front office have inspired confidence in me that they will solve problems and find solutions. Gone are the days of going into a game with 4 active receivers.

  9. Love at first sight. Baltimore/Indy Colts fan. Lived near S.F. as a kid and in 66 saw the Colts play the 49ers in S.F. Instantly fell in love with Colts uniforms and players and I've been in love with the Colts since that moment. The Colts have broken my heart a number of times (season ending loss to LA in 67 after entering the game 11-0-2 which kept them from the playoffs that year, of course SB 3, ghost to the post, 04 loss to Pats, 05 loss to Steelers) but I absolutely can't imagine rooting for any other team. Now live near Montreal and have tried rooting for the Allouettes as there is no conflict of interest but nothing......it's like my heart is dead to any other team?

  10. Look, I'll say this once. Colts draft highly rated Lydell Mitchell. Steelers draft Franco. Franco goes crazy and Lydell not so much. When everyone has conceded that Lydell is an un talented bust, along comes Uncle Ted 1.0 and  puts Lydell in an offense where they throw it to him and run it with him and just get him the ball in space and Lydell is the running game for 3 years of division championships and playoffs. The situation with Trent does not look good but there's a mismatch ocurring right now and I  would not conclude that the Colts will or will not solve it but.......sometimes you are only in the position to play the cards you have in your hand and I'm just gonna root for the Colts to find a way to play what they have well. Go Trent, Go Colts!

  11. As Pagano says DB is a pro and he is a team player willing to fill any role asked of him and he has the resume to prove that statement. When a guy is a #1 and is willing to go down to 3/4 th string, play special teams, punt protect, and get only 2/3 carries and takes all of that like a pro....then when his turn comes back around because of injuries he produces.....he's earned respect and kudos. If fans can't bring themselves to do that they are not really fans...they are posers.

  12.   I figure you read this forum so I'm creating this thread because it is about time someone sticks up for what YOU'VE done for this organization.  Which, incidently, is much more than even Peyton has done for it..

    I've got your back.

Your style is so refreshing for the league.  Sure sometimes you tweet or say things without fully thinking them through, but you always speak from your heart.  And that BIG heart of yours is in the right place.

People seem to forget how this organization was on the up before Peyton ever got here.  Remember 1995 and 1996?  Jimmy Harbaugh did a pretty nice job.  Peyton certainly had the weapons on offense to "win the big one".  More offensive weapons than the teams that beat us.  Plus, last year's exit in the first game to Baltimore looked ALOT like the majority of our playoff games under him.  Kinda embarrasing the "experts" didn't notice that.  Also, I remember a certain game in NE that we only posted 3 lousy points in.  Who are we gonna blame that on?  Too many interceptions in the playoffs too.

What you said recently hit the nail on the head, its just a shame nobody has the guts to acknowledge Peyton has faults.  While I really don't think you were directng the comments toward him, he HAS to take some of the blame.

Now, I'd like to clarify that I LOVE Peyton and what he did for the organization.  He was my favorite Colt since Bert Jones really.  I respect his game and him as a man.  But he's just a man, not a god.

My loyalty is to the Colts, not one player.  While I still watch and record every game Peyton still plays, I want "my" Colts to take him to the "woodshed" this week.  Its not personal, its football.

To sum it up, it is very clear how much you love this team and how hard you have worked (and PAID) to bring talented players, coaches, and staff in here to win a Super Bowl.  IT WORKED!!!!!!!!

THANK YOU!!!!!  The 2006 season has given me memories that money (at least my money) couldn't buy.

You've brought honor to "the Shoe" and I'm very sure your dad is very proud.

Keep up the good work, and please don't change for others.

After all, it is YOUR TEAM.

Keep your head up dude, you've earned it.

    Thanks again,

    The WoolMagnet

(a proud and happy Colt fan in Pennsylvania)

Many fans here have little memory for how horrible (and hopeless) being a Colts fan was with Robert Irsay as the owner both in Baltimore and Indy especially those of us that Remember Carroll Rosenbloom and the way he conducted business. Jim is not so bad.

  13. Ask the question does Trent have the physical skills to be a top flight  back....... if the answer is yes just take a breath and relax it will come it's not  sprint, and the Colts staff realizes that we need better talent on the o line and in the meantime Trent is the best option and will gradually improve. The Colts staff has been right about a lot of decisions so I have trust in their confidence  in Trent.
