  1. Padres are out of it unless they pull a miracle off. Just too many teams ahead of them.
  2. Luck imo is probably a top 40 QB of all-time. Based on just enough of a sample size with his 4 solid seasons = 2012-2014, 2018 + his talent. After about 35 QB's all-time, the list narrows down a bit. He isn't a Hall of Famer though unfortunately. Didn't play long enough. ROH, yes.
  3. When it comes to Luck, he had 4 great seasons here. 2012-2014, 2018. Some could argue and say they were very good, not great because we didn't win a SB in those years. Not a huge sample size but enough a sample size for me to say that he is the 3rd best QB in Colts history. His stats and wins will back up my opinion. He even won 4 playoff games. 1. Peyton Manning 2. Johnny Unitas 3. Andrew Luck is here. I have him ranked higher than Bert Jones. Where he ranks all-time is tough. He just didn't play very long.
  4. Brewers also lost. We are just 1.5 games out of 1st place in the NL Central. We have that 5th spot on lock down. We can actually still win the division. We destroyed the Giants 3 straight games. @HOZER, fly the Flag.
  5. We have to agree to disagree. To me that is a bad take. "when defenses tried 100%" he underperformed a lot of the time". When Luck had the ball in a 1 score game, defenses didn't play prevent, they were giving 100% and then some trying to win the game in the end. What you are saying is making little sense??
  6. I never said a franchise should be led by RB. It is and always been a QB driven league. Having Taylor would help the team and that is a fact.
  7. I totally disagree. Luck had 7 come from behind victories in his rookie season. Clutch is when you have a QB that has the ball with 3 minutes or so in the game and takes you down for the game winner no matter how bad they may have played earlier in the game. Stats can't measure that. Joe Montana had many games where he didn't put-up huge stats but he knew how to win on many last minute drives. I have seen games where John Elway played lousy for 3 qtrs., then in the last 8 minutes lead his team to victory. He had the clutch gene.
  8. In 2021, without Taylor I think we win 6 games. He made a 3 game difference, JMO. 3 games isn't a lot but still a noticeable difference. Tennessee's downfall is, they went and then stuck with Tannehill when Henry was at his absolute best. They never had the QB to win it all.
  9. Analytics is a good thing, it can show a lot of tendencies of players. It can determine who might be the better player compared to someone else as well. It doesn't measure the Clutch Factor or certain human tendencies is the problem. If someone just went by analytics, they would have said Andrew Luck's rookie year was average at best. Which we know it was damn great because of Clutch play, and his ability to win games in the 4th Qtr.
  10. But what if Taylor plays like 11 or 12 games and we win 8 or 9 games?
  11. Reds could definitely beat the Brewers. They have a better lineup IMO. It is their pitching that concerns me. Cubs would draw the Phillies and that won't be easy. Both series is the best of 3. I think Steele would win his outing, the other games, not sure.
  12. A lot of question marks, will Leonard play a lot this year? Will JT play games 5-17? A lot of what if's. 6 wins is real doable IMO as long as AR plays above average football. I also have more faith in Shane as a coach than many do, I see him as possibly a McVay or Shannahan type coach. I think his offensive mind will fool many teams.
  13. Winning 7 games would be a good season for us since most of the media and some in here think we stink. Bob Kravitz says we will win 3 games I am not saying we will be good and I am an optimist but this 3 or 4 win stuff is comical.
  14. I think our defense is going to be better than you think, I might be wrong wouldn't be the first time, but they played hard last tyear and kept us in many games. Regarding the division, that 1-4-1 is deceiving. We just blew 2 games against the Texans, 1 by missing a FG so it ends in a tie, then the Texans beat us on a prayer/short hailmary . We really should have been 3-3. Also I think the Titans will not be as good either this year.
  15. Yeah Reds and Cubs both get in. Even if we don't win the division, I am ok with ending it now. Anything can still happen. In baseball, it is really about just making the playoffs. The team with the best record loses quite often. That is what makes baseball suspenseful during the playoffs.
  16. Another night completed. Going into September 6th here is what the NL Playoff race looks like: 1. Braves 90-47 2. Dodgers 84-53 BYE's 3. Brewers 77-61 (NL Central lead) 4. Phillies 76-62 (1st WC) 5. Cubs 75-64 (2nd WC) 6. Reds 73-68 (3rd WC) Teams on the outside looking in: Marlins 71-67 (.5 back of 6th) D Backs 71-68 (1 back of 6th) Giants 70-69 (2 back of 6th) Fly the Flag @HOZER, Cubs win again.
  17. That is what some are doing as in not factoring in what division we play in and our overall schedule isn't that tough. We could go 3-3 in the division alone, especially if we win Sunday. Even I wasn't a Colts fan, I would look at our team and schedule and think, the Colts should win at least 6 games unless AR flat out stinks. I think AR will be average at worse as a rookie. Our defense IMO, will be better than most think as well. I am worried about having young Corners but our D kept us in a lot of games last season where we could have won 3 or 4 more games. Not having Taylor hurts but if we can go 2-2 without him, we can be an 8 win team which isn't farfetched.
  18. I trust Vegas more than I do her. I have us winning 8 games if we can stay fairly healthy most of the season. It will be interesting to see how Taylor plays when he comes back in week 5, if he plays.
  19. Yes sir, and we are in great shape regarding making the playoffs as well. We are 3 games ahead of the Diamondbacks and Reds. 4 ahead of the Giants for the 5th spot in the NL. Cubs 74-64 Diamondbacks 71-67 Reds 72-68 Giants 70-68 Steele is in the running for NL CY Young.
  20. Nebraska just isn't Nebraska anymore. Another loss to Minnesota 13-10. We just don't have that mojo like we had in the 80's and 90's. USC looks powerful on offense, Caleb Williams is a beast. I think the Final Four will end up being Georgia and Alabama - both will get in IMO even if one of them has 1 loss, the other 2 teams will be Michigan and USC. How about those Colorado Buffaloes! Before the season I bet $100 that they will win 6 games or more. They only won 1 last year. They took out TCU at TCU! 1-0 so far. They play my Huskers next week and it pains me to say, they will win that game as well . Deion is just a winner and why he is in my Elite 8 players of all-time. My top 8 players of all-time are: 1. Tom Brady 2. Joe Montana 3. Peyton Manning 4. Lawerence Taylor 5. Jerry Rice 6. Jim Brown 7. Ray Lewis 8. Deion Sanders The top 3 are QB's, but it is and always has been a QB league. After that I gave the nod to Taylor. To me, LT is the greatest defensive player of all-time. He could rush the passer with the best of them and play great pass defense for a LB. Jerry Rice is the greatest WR of all-time, Brown is the greatest RB of all-time, Lewis is the greatest MLB and general of all-time - he was a coach on the field for his D, Deion is the greatest Cover Corner plus he could play WR, PR, and KR. He shut half the field down on defense.
  21. Off topic I can't believe football is almost here again. I have been so focused on baseball because I am a huge Cubs fan but when I think of Colts football I get that different pumped up vibe. The fall weather starts to roll in and you know it's time. My favorite sport has always been football, NBA was second up until around 7 years ago. I still have NBA 3rd but MLB has been 2nd to me since the Cubs won the World Series in 2016. I have been a Cubs fan since 1984 and that Championship was priceless in 2016. NBA started to go way to political for a while but they have toned it down last 2 years or so and I actually watched the playoffs and Finals this year. Denver winning was different and pretty cool.
  22. I remember back in the day, 2 teams only got in in each League = each league only had 2 divisions and if you didn't win your win divsion you were screwed. That always bothered me because there were many years where a better team didn't get in because they didn't win the division
