Based on early results you can clearly see Anderson was going to become a player until he got hurt. Now that becomes questionable if he doesn't return as the player he was. Not everyone comes back from knee injuries regardless of age.
Luck, don't even need to mention him.
Anderson had same injury in college, so this makes me slightly scared he could be another Art Jones. When he's healthy and on the field, no question he's solid...but need him on the field.

Colts don't keep 3 C on roster do they? Does Harrison have Guard ability? i remember last year when the NT slot was wiped clean on the Vets, wonder if the same will happen this year on the Center position.
-
A good piece on Bates. Would like to see some on the more interesting UDFA's as well.
-
Yeah, thing is Pagano was there at Clemson, and worked him out, talked to him, ect. Obviously this in-person contact is something non of us had with Green. Pagano knows his stuff about Db's and if he wanted him THAT bad, there must be something he Loves about him and believes strongly about. Lets just sit back for a year or two and see what comes out of the canvas he invested in.
-
They are just dropping 'dead weight' to make room for real contenders and projects for the 93 man roster. Expect to see some more signings soon.
-
I think he's a Dotson with a Doberman's attitude. Frankly, if he can add 15-20 lb's, ( all lean mass) and his injuries fully heal, then he could be a darn fine linebacker.

RB
JOSH FERGUSON
ILLINOIS BIG TEN
Good little scat back change of pacer. 2 issues:
1: anyone gets a hand on him..he's done.
2: he fumbles. 7 fumbles in 2014.
he fixes fumble issues and he could be a great 3rd and long RB.
-
Round 1:
C Ryan Kelly: A
Think he might have been able to trade back, but why risk it?
Round 2:
S T.J. Green: A-
Kid will be a ball hawk stud if it is in front of him, and he's not afraid to get 'dirty' in the trenches.
Round 3:
OL Le'Raven Clark: B-
i Get he has potential to be a great o-lineman, but this is where we could have gotten a RB or DE/OLB
Round 4:
DT Hassan Ridgeway: A
This kid, if he stays healthy and can improve his conditioning, is going to be a monster.
ILB Antonio Morrison: C+
early on I would have given a D-, but after deep research, I realize he was been hampered by 2 knee surguries, and infections that has seriously limited his performance.
Round 5:
OL Joe Haeg: A-
Excellent pass blocker who's biggest flaws are weight and strength, both can be fixed.
Round 7:
OLB Trevor Bates: A for effort
Colts went to another small program and got a guy whom could possibly fill a direct need (this time in pass rush)
C Austin Blythe B
If anything, he can back up Kelly and we can give Harrison back to the pee-wee league we drafted him from.
Trade: A-
Was short a pick coming into the draft, ended up +1 because of trade, and from the sounds of it, it did not even change whom Colts took anyhow.
Overall: A- I haven't seen a draft i liked more than this one......not in the terms of need/value.

This is a pretty good read about the new DE turned pass rush specialist Colts got with a 7th RD. pick.
Last Year Colts got a 'completely off the map' Mars Hill Prodigy in Denzell Good. Could they have done so again with Bates?

Ok did some digging...i feel MUCH better about this pick now.:
NFL Media insider Ian Rapoport reports that Florida LB Antonio Morrison was medically cleared of his infection upon recheck.
Per Rapoport, Morrison took antibiotics for six weeks in order to kill the infection. It was a noticeable hindrance during process testing, as he was unable to participate at the NFL Scouting Combine and was severely limited on his Pro Day. CBS Sports' Pete Prisco likes the 6-foot-1, 232-pounder as a potential third-round sleeper who could carve out a starting role over time.
To me, this could mean his speed and drill #'s are flawed due to the infections he had in his knee's.

A Hitter, without the body for it. and slow. and knee problems...a lot of places say 6th, 7th, or UFA. ST's?..........

Oh, Wow. I thought our d-line was good before....now we have 2 rotation monsters....

Honestly, i am more owrried over Clark than Green. the Ceiling with Green is so high, and raw talent with not much coaching defensively, with Pagano putting him under his wing,...I truly feel Green could be the next Ed Reed. That guy who sits deep watches the QB, then makes the break for the ball as the QB begins his throwing action.

I did lol. I don't read bleacher report much. However, what it did say didn't impress me lol. "not a willing tackler" "poor tackling skills" "exposed by elite talent". Well, you cant coach speed so hopefully Pagano can coach up the rest lol. Oh well, I wont be critical of the choice yet. I wanted Shilique Calhoun and he was still sitting there at 57 and went to the Raiders about 8 or 9 picks later. This will be a pick to watch going down the road.
oh, fully agree about waiting and watching. both the day 2 guys seem to have HUGE ceilings, and a large canvas to work with, just raw in some aspects. Pagano should be able to make Green into an all pro, and Philbin has the brushes with Clark (and Good for that matter!)
Will be fun watching these young guys develop. For better or for worse.

Indianapolis Colts
Draft picks: Ryan Kelly (No. 18 overall), T.J. Green (No. 57 overall), Le'Raven Clark (No. 82 overall)
Day 1 grade: A
Day 2 grade: A
Overall grade: A
The skinny: Ryan Kelly will be a stud in the middle, and protecting Andrew Luck became truly important after he missed time last season. The Colts required help in the secondary and Green is a versatile, hard-charging defender worth a late second round pick. Clark brings some nasty to the offensive line.NFL Network thinks all 3 guys Colts drafted is great apparently. And BR's Cris Simm's thinks Green as to be a Poor mans Jalen Ramsey, and rated the pick an A+.
The grades on both these guys are everywhere on the board. Either they love them, or hate them...doesn't seem to be an inbetween. but i see more 'love than 'hate' out there.

IDK anything about Green. I did see an article that said he may have gone as high as a late first round selection. He doesn't have to play right away as long as Adams and Geathers stay healthy but ya, hopefully Pagano did his own homework on this one and felt good about the pick.
As for Clark, he looks like he could be a real good pick but has some work to do in the weight room. Again, I like to see the offensive line being addressed.
Click on my link abouve, Simms said he figured Green to be a late first rounder. I've read it other places as well.

so does BR's Cris Simm's...giving both an A+

And here Green pick was rated a A+ by Cris Simms...as a matter of fact they had a 'standing ovation' for Grigsons first 2 picks.

They should have stayed where they were. The 7th rounder is pretty much an handcrafted FA. We have holes to fill now.
But it was a 2nd round pick. Still very good.
Maybe there is another 'Denzelle Good" they are looking at to draft rather than fight for in FA? I for one am glad they went that way with Good last year.......

Indianapolis Colts: Le'Raven Clark, OT, Texas Tech A- Grade
I wonder if someone sat Ryan Grigson down and explained to him how important it was to protect Andrew Luck. Grigson had shown a complete disregard toward bolstering Luck's protection prior to the 2016 NFL Draft, but he has obviously changed his strategy. It's obviously for the best though, as Luck will surely like this pick. Le'Raven Clark could've been chosen at the end of the second round, making this a nice value choice.
Walter football.(Also of not..their lowest grade for a colts pick thus far was Ryan Kelly...a B+)

Indianapolis Colts: T.J. Green, S, Clemson A- Grade
The Colts moved down and obtained a prospect who could've been chosen a bit earlier than this selection. I like it. T.J. Green is highly athletic, and it's possible that he might be able to play cornerback in the NFL. If not, he can settle in at safety, which was also a huge need for the Colts entering this weekend.

I would expect we do not draft him in the 2nd?
Some had him an end of first round early 2nd pick. if it is a guy you like..take him when you can, or he may not be there.

His tackling is not his biggest problem. He ranks 120th out of 120 ranked safeties in coverage in this year's draft. Yes. You read that correct - DEAD LAST out of 120!!!
what would you expect being he was a WR his first 3 years then moved to S last year?...like i said development. Pagano can teach him for a year.

why would we want him at G? he has no power, his run block i shis weakness. His strength is his athleticism and feet. Also, it seems scouts love him as T prospect.
If anything i think lineup will be
Castonzo mewhort kelly reitz Good/clark and on 2017 he is for sure our RT

Has one of his strengths as his run blocking ability.

He was in the convo by analyst's of DPOY award. He had 1 sack but a ton of pressures and lots of backfeild hits, not to mention he was an anchor, and done it top notch. it was not just his stats that get put on paper that made him great that 1/2 year he played.
That being said, he played 1/2 a year. had the same injury that sidelined him in college for a bit. The is just not enough of his play time to say he's better at his position than Vonte, A.C, or Hilton. But I will say this. I LOVE his play when on the field. His play make others around him better,
