  1. Whats worse than going out to go to the bank and my SUV wouldn't even start. I guess even though it's only 5 years old a battery doesn't last for ever. Been a long time since I had to purchase a battery. They cost a lot more than I remember. I bought the best one warranty wise I could get so I guess that's why it cost more than I thought it would At least it wasn't in the dead of winter. lol

Wow, a battery literally dying traveling down the highway at a high speed sounds very scary & dangerous. I'm glad that you were not hurt or injured HCF.

I was really surprised...there was some short-circuit within the battery, the car hadn't stopped while driving anyway...

a friends brand new Harley died on his big trip for the D.C. ride last week, right before the days longest leg on a Sunday...luckily the dealer was open and they replaced over 100 for the same problem.. something to do with the fancy new electronics on the newer bikes! timing is everything, you're right, better than in winter on a road side somewhere! 90mph is a scary speed to be traveling HCF! yowza!

  2. Well the 500 is getting ready to start and since we're so close it's not live here. I'm pulling for Tony Kanan because he has never won and he was Dan Wheldon's best friend and like to see him bring it home for Dan. GO TK it's your year.

Why does the driver who wins the INDY 500 traditionally pour milk over his head as opposed to wine or champaign anyway? I never have understood the reason for that. Any thoughts on this one? Hmmm...I'm at a loss for words myself.

    4. MIColtsFan

      MIColtsFan

one of the drivers a long time ago, asked for buttermilk after he won.. the picture of this took on a life of it's own and the drinking of milk for the victor became a tradition.. in the 50's? I remember one year there was some flack about non milk drinkers and a whole bunch of hoopla was created, I think it was the late 80's, but the tradition lives on and it's a fun one

  3. Well the Celtics get to play the Heat and after just catching some of the game I don't know how they will fair with the Heat. I'm hoping they can take that series so time will tell. I personally just want anyone to beat the Heat.

I know I feel the same way but I dislike the Heat more so I guess I will be pulling for the Celtics. I just want someone to beat the Heat. I want anyone to keep LeBron from getting a title. Isn't that nasty of me. My Bad

Not bad, Susie, just honest. I like honest :)

For what it's worth Susie Q, I would like Lebron James to remain the "Ringless King of Nothing" too.

  4. Well now I know why I like the Status Update section. I was reading the NFL General and about Peyton throwing and OP are stll complaining. I thought that was what the NFL General Section was for so people could post about any player than a Colt. I just posted it was simple if you didn't want to read about Peyton just ignore the thread. Is that too hard for some to do? Well sorry my vent for the day now I feel better.

  5. Can't believe I had the energy in this muggy weather to wax my SUV but I did and looks good. Imagine a flock birds will find it, Seems like that always happens when I get it cleaned up. hahaNow I'm relaxing the rest of the day. Happy Memorial Weekend Friends.

Happy Memorial Weekend to you too Susie Q!!! Birds seem to carpet bomb my ride as well when she is all neat & clean. Very frustrating. I applaud your work ethic. I usually just let the raindrops wash the dirt off myself.

  6. Is it bad when you check the Status Updates before check the forum? More Interesting read lately.

Not at all Susie Q. It's like when you read the Sunday newspaper for the cartoon section 1st. Laughter before hard hitting journalism that's all. The right approach too BTW from my perspective.

    2. alawai

      alawai

lol! SW1 I must be getting old, in the past it was sports, comics section then the paper itself front to back - paper must be read in that order! Now it's sports, the sale ads, paper front to back and the comics section wherever it happens to be in the pile of papers.

  7. Well Pacers it's sad when Larry Bird calls his team SOFT. Now lets see what happens.

Dexter Pittman suspended for the rest of the series. Haslem suspended for one game. Great news if we want a comeback!

      Susie Q

      Manning to Collie

Do both of those players play for the Heat?

    4. MIColtsFan

      MIColtsFan

YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! suspended! other than Pittman was really only brought in to be a thug, he really isn't one of the Heat's main weapons, but still it's good and Pittman can wink to himself while benched!

  8. Well watching pregame and all the talk is about the Heat and very little about the Pacers. Hope the Pacers put another one on them this afternoon. GO PACERS !!!!!!!

      Susie Q

Another thing is that I'm not really a basketball fan but want the home team to beat the HEAT. :-)

I'm right there with you 100% Susie Q. Basketball is not my expertise either, but I do hope the Pacers mob the floor & make mince meat out of Lebron James & Dwayne Wade today...Time to shock the world baby!!!

      MIColtsFan

Lebron, Lebron, Leblah! it's one game dude, can he sustain it?... those kids on the Pacer's have heart, get 'em next game guys!

  9. Well Another Pacer's Game. GO PACERS !!!!!!!

  10. Just saw on the news that Irsay can't fly Luck anywhere on his jet to practice with team mates until he is finished with school. Must be an NFL regulation.

Must have something to do with the fact that since Irsay owns the Colts his jet is considered Colts property...how knows, but you'd better believe they will find a way to get Andrew and our guys together before June 1st.

  11. Well it seems funny that I would rather read the Status Updates instead of the forum now days. It has more interesting things to read. No bickering and just friends communicating with each other.

that's funny, I feel the same sometimes. Have a great day

  12. All I can say is after seeing all the footage of the practice it's looks as though Coach Clyde could stand to lose a little weight around the middle section. haha

  13. Heard on the local Neews that Pat McAfee is giving away over 400 tickets to the Pacers Game tonight this afternoon in Indy and if you can hit a free throw you get 4 tickets and if you miss you still get 2 tickets. Talk about a giving individual. That's our McAfee.

  14. Well they just showed on TV the taking down of Peyton's Picture on LOS and it was kind of sad. Well time to move one but not forget what he did for this state.

Ah, Brent. You know what a FAN I am.... however, I disagree here. Not while he's still playing and for another team in the same conference to boot. Nah, after he retires will be good.

I can't wait to see Peyton play again....

I am also "hoping" that I will warm up to Luck, but I'm not there yet. He needs to prove himself to me. Peyton has nothing to prove.

    3. MAC

Brent - I didn't look. How cynical is that. The ironic part is that I've been making fun of that inadequate pretty boy in NY for years, but now I'll be pulling for him to take his game to a different level and ruin the NFLs plans. The circumstances created an underdog and that changes my entire perception. Poor Sanchez. Poor Jets fans. New and exiting ways to lose every year.

      BrentMc11

MAC: They need their HBO gig for this season....never watched it, but the circus is in town.

  16. Just wantred to post something my UPS fellow told me today. His Mother passed last week and it was in her Obituary that she was an avid Colts Fan and at the funeral home was a blue vase with a flower arrangement from Jim Irsay. What a great thing for the Colts Organization to do. Thought this should be shared.

It is a great option, My ex wife and I owned a flower shop and there are many people requesting sports themes. My favorite of all was a Baltimore Oriole fan. It turned out so awesome as an arrangement. Good post Suzy Q.
