  1. I think is just a joke from Irsay. Worth noting ESPN had a story up that Jim Irsay attended Pryor's work out.

So you finally agree with me?

All this "tweeting" by Irsay has to be pizzing Polian off.... This is just really unprofessional. And really juvenile.

Irsay is acting like a high school girl who just hot the hot rumor.

I wish he would stop. It makes the "Colts" look like clowns.

  2. Fellers, this is my first post on this board and I don't wanna cause anyone to get upset but if you believe that Pollak is the man at guard then you are gonna be very disappointed. Some of your analysis of the OLinmen sounds like, "played pretty well" and "played really well" and "played better than." First Pollak has very slow recognition after the DL shifts. He never seems to be ahead of the curve on stunts. Some might say he is better at center but thats because his guy is almost always the nose. Pollak isn't strong. He got planted on his butt more than once last year. An average bullrusher will step on his chest almost half the time. Whoever on the Colts staff who believes he will improve alot is an *. Not strong, feet like a center (there is a reason he was a center in college) and no evidence of nastiness means he has to go. The Colts have a solid history of hanging on to team screwups in the draft. Devan is a tough guy and I admire his 'want to' but he has Arena tallent. This Reitz dude was a surprise. Gotta see more of him. He pass blocked with a decent anchor and got downfield. He didn't connect on some downfield blocks but he was down there for a guy his size. #79 has a future..reminds me of Glen...just the way he looks. My judgement is still out on our #1 pick this year. I'll say this, think about Ugho...when a speed rusher got even with him Ugho didn't have the push (strength) to take the DE deep and past the QB. #74 does, but he looks a little light to me even for a LT. I'm certainly OK with these first two picks.

    Roll Tide/C O L T S

My uneducated opinion is that Pollak is as good as gone.

  3. As i sit here and watch as the Colts become a punchline on NFL Network, I cant help but think they are just in

doing so, What other franchise conducts itself like this team? Granted you can call them classy..I will rather call them mental, I have never seen a team that has the GOAT but no one really fears his team. And Im sorry but I have had it with the way they have ticked Peytons legacy away by not putting better teams around him. He will always just be a great QB that only won one SB, and dont give me the crap about other greats that only won once or never did it. Bill Polian is 1-6 in SB'S and is a ego maniac..Caldwell i love ya brotha...but you gotta go. Bill Cower, Gruden, anybody that will come in and light a fire under this fragile franchise will be welcomed by me and im sure alot of Colts nation. And the owner that sports a white mans jheri curl and wears suits better seen on deon sanders, and then tweets the fans who should be a good choice for Qb??? what?????????????? i just dont think the colts get it..

(forgive me colts god for saying this) but i almost want Peyton to find another team because his talents have been squanderd here in indy..its because of the colts i understand what Lebron did, how long can you hold a team that proves itself unworthy of you. any other team would have built a juggernaut around him and he would be in the BRADY, ROTHLISBUGER ring club, but not us...I love you colts but im severley frustrated with you year after year knowing the PEYTON era is drawing nigh...and with no real plan set it will be back to the good old days. please....prove me wrong

  4. It ain't gonna happen.

BUT.. if it does...... This front office needs to be fired.

And I am 100% serious, there is NO EXCUSE to be rolling into a season with "Peyton Manning's health IN DOUBT, with NO solid backup QB. I mean really.

If PM's health IS in doubt Why did INDY sign him to a guaranteed contract so soon. And more importantly........... Why don't we have a backup QB?

Seriously... If Manning is out and "they" KNEW about it............

    Truly horrible front office work.

  5. Interesting, nobody stated that he will play the whole season. `I take it Shakedowns post

was sarcastic'. Not many fans have very much faith that Gonzo will contribute all season.

    No diehard Gonzo fans???

I'm a Gonzo fan, but the reality is some players just stay healthy and others do not.

IF Gonzo is healthy... he is this teams third best receiver. Wayne, Collie, Gonzo, and Garcon is a mean corp.

And reality is that Gonzo has to prove his worth all over again. And I think he will.

  6. First off I'm a big fan of Bill Polian but I also feel he is a huge ego. It just seems that when Polian took Painter in the 6th round, just like Tom Brady was taken in the 6th round, his great hope was to attempt to come close to duplicating the best quarterback pick of all time. I'm not saying exactly that he thought Painter would become an exact Brady like QB but I think he was hoping to catch lightning in the bottle and find a super talented QB in the 6th round that the Colts would develop into a really good QB. And thus alot of attention would be given to Polian for his ability to get something out of nothing.

I mean why else didn't the Colts pick up a vet QB (I mean one (DO) that didn't have experience playing for the worst team (the Lions of a few years ago) to ever play in the NFL) when they heard Peyton had neck surgery just a few months ago. I mean human being + neck surgery usually = very serious situation. Yet the Colts did virtually nothing to protect the 2011 season. I think Polian didn't want to upset his personal experiment. He knew DO would never unseat Painter and he hoped Painter would become a poor man's Brady. It's a pretty strange thought I must admit but Polian is rather an unusual guy. If Peyton can't go this week, the Painter experiment needs to end and any experienced QB that has had some success needs to be with the Colts Monday.

Painter is a product of Manning's studlyness.

Manning will play, I bet Irsay is sipping Crown and Cokes and whatever else and getting a kick out of the frenzy he has put Colt Nation into.

I'm not buying it until Manning is not dressed for the Texans game.

  7. The Colts have gone out of their way over the years to avoid media attention. They don't like it. Jim Irsay being on twitter tends to get Jim Irsay not the Colts attention there is a difference. Talking about your franchise QB maybe not playing week one will get the Colts media attention.

Like I said before this is an update from the owner about Manning. It sounds like there is some concern. If you don't share his concern so be it.

If you really think the owner of the Colts is going to go on a nationally televised game and "speculate" about "TRUE" info leading up to the kickoff of the season then ????

Now I can believe he is more than willing to go on air and "speculate" about "rumors" and misdirection. It's the game outside the game.

If Irsay's golden boy had any chance of being down there is no way in heck he is signed or his backups / starters going into the season would be Laurel and Hardy.

Relax everyone, Manning will be front and center at kickoff Week 1.

  8. The Texans aren't going to wonder anything they are going to prepare for Peyton as if he's going to play regardless of what our owner says.

Yes we would have commited to Peyton Manning with a long term deal. We are talking about something that might cost him a week or two, you don't show your franchise the QB and maybe the best QB in the history of the NFL the door over something that might cost him a week or two. They were going to sign him long term regardless of his status following the neck surgery unless it was something that was going to end his career which it's pretty clear this isn't going to do.

Also you can call it what you want but I am telling I watched the interview and there was legit concern coming from Irsay. He isn't Polian, he has been nothing but honest when it comes to injury updates, to the point you can tell it upsets Polian. Like I said before it's not time to hit the panic button because Irsay also said they hope he will play week one. Just something to watch over the next couple of weeks.

Also, what's the one thing the Colts hate more than anything? Media attention? Talking about Peyton Manning maybe missing time isn't the best way to avoid that. There was no reason for Irsay to be just trying to drum up some suspense.

Yes I watched the game. And "the last thing the Colts want is MEDIA ATTENTION" are you kidding me? Irsay could very well become the spokesperson for TWITTER. He is a media hound... he loves it. AND, he knows how to UTILIZE it. :ninja:

    Manning is fine.

  9. Jim Irsay was on the broad cast for an interview. he was asked about Peyton's health and he said they HOPE he is ready for the Texans game but that isn't a sure bet. He said it was day-to-day if he'll be back in time. He says they would look at a vet back up if they were unsure about Peyton's status for the Texans game and they weren't happy with the QBs they have. Not the best news in the world.

I guarantee you that if the Colts felt in any way that Manning would not be ready by week 1 they would have someone here other than Painter and Orlovsky taking all the snaps.

Manning will be plenty ready for the Texans, the Colts are playing possum.

  10. IF and that's a huge if, the Colts would be an interesting spot. You are looking at not playing Luck really for probably four years at least so it's probably still too soon to draft our next franchise QB. However, what are the odds of having a guy like Luck looking you in the face when it's that time? Luck sounds like the most sure thing since Peyton came out of college and that would be pretty hard to pass on. Still if the Polians like another guy who they feel can help us win now it wouldn't shock me if they did.

Either way this is a huge if since we are talking about guy in Peyton going to IR and he's missed all of one play in his career due to injury. I'd say the odds of that happening are probably less than our odds of ending up with the first overall pick.

If the Colts found themselves in the position to draft Luck.... One of three possibilities, Draft Luck and let him sit (Steve Younug like), or trade either Manning or Luck. And for a King's ransom. Oh what a dreamy scenario... after the depression of the season wears off of coarse.

Actually it could be the best thing to ever happen to the franchise.... well second best thing.

  11. Yes, surgery was elective. And let's face it, he needs zero preseason time as long as he can practice.

Anyone who thinks the preseason is important for him to work out in 'game conditions' is ... (I'll be nice) not well informed. He can hone his timing with the receivers while wearing a red shirt. Plus, does anyone really want him out there while they're still experimenting with the line?

(Now for the dire, doom, world is ending portion of the post) ...Cooper had to quit football because...

In 08 it took Manning 6 or 7 games to get going. He was serviceable, but serviceable got Indy a 3-4 record. Maybe if Indy's D is up for the challenge then hold him out. But if not, Manning needs game time in the preseason.

  12. He said: “It should always be on, it doesn’t matter who you play, when you play, preseason, regular season."

You could read it that every player should give their best effort all the time, which we all agree on. But if you read it as if you're talking about a team, we all know that's not true. The Rams played to win the game, they had their starters in a lot longer than we did. The score was very important to them.

The Colts use the preseason to evaluate players, which sometimes frustrates other teams (and definitely frustrates fans). Different philosophy than the Rams. All I'm saying is that ours has proven to be successful. He hasn't proven anything yet.

Let Coach Spag get a "winning veteran" team under his belt and then lets hear him talk about intensity. He is trying to build "something" there... the Colts have the "foundation" that has brought them unprecedented success.

    A total non issue....

  13. I think the only cure for Indy's backup QB situation is a "power running game" then a HS kid could make the play action passes that ........

    oh never mind........

I guess Manning being shelved 2x now in his thirties is not enough for this franchise to go and "PAY" for a quality backup.

    sigh................... :censored:

  14. His return during our championship year was one of the main reasons why are defense turned around and we won the Super Bowl. We didn't get to the Super Bowl on the back of Manning.

See Bob in Charger blue was so horrible.

If he stays healthy in San Diego I am going to start wondering about our medical staff here. lol

No... Indy waited probably TOO LONG for Bob. He was given every possible chance to make it happen. And nonsense knows it. He has stated so in several local interviews.

He is a game changing talent, and if SD can get 8 games and a playoff run out of Bob then look out. It's just that the odds are not with him.

Good luck Bob, just not against INDY :blueshoe:

  15. Sanders injuries have nothing to do with a good or bad medical staff. The dude is tearing muscles which can't be avoided by any doctor. I have maintained a position for years that his body simply isn't cut out for the sport. Between the bisceps tears, pectoral tears, etc, if we are going to create conspiracies, it would be more relevant to suggest steroids playing a roll in the muscle tears, not an unqualified medical staff. While I hope it doesn't happen as I would never wish injuries upon any player, the reality and his track record is he gets hurt and we aren't talking about aches and pains. It would be interesting to see a vegas oddsmaker put odds of a serious injury on Sanders this season, I would say it's even money. Short of him playing smarter with his body, he is most likely going to face the same injury plague in San Diego jus as he did in Indy.

Bob is built like a torpedo, Ditka stated his second season in the NFL that "he loaves the way Bob plays.... but he won't have a long career." "his body is just not meant to sustain his violent play"...

It was "outstanding" while it lasted. Sanders was a "GAME CHANGER"
