I like that Derek Carr is off the Raiders. I'm a big fan of his but it was hard to root for him with McD as his head coach. Carr is such a classy guy.

I'm always in favor of playing starters especially rookies and others that do not have a lot of experience. I think they should have let Richardson play more. The Rams and Titans had their drafted rookie QBs play most of the game. It gives them experience. Bryce Young did not play enough.

He (Stroud) seems eager to show he should have been #1 and may pass a lot more than the other QBs. (Note: it is just my impression, not something he said or anything I heard or read.)

I did too. As I wrote in the post above, when I wrote the comment about having seen all the rookie QBs, it was before the Chargers/Rams game.

He looked comfortable and poised out there but he too made mistakes. (I wrote what you quoted before the Chargers/ Rams game yesterday.)

Purdy. Why did you not include Sam Darnold? He has a chance to start too. Lance has not done anything to merit the start. Has he played in any games? Darnold has played in many games but he needs better coaching.

I believe the poster would have written the same post. If you read the post, it seems like it is written by someone who did not watch the game. He talked about Richardson's experience in college and calling him a running QB. He did not analyze the game. Now, @bluephantom87did a great job detailing what he saw Richardson do and how poised he was. It is clear he watched the game. I don't think Lenny watched. His post was a rant.

Rivers will one day be enshrined in the Football Hall of Fame. He was more than good. (You know I'm a big fan of Rivers.)

It might be. Bennett is getting first downs with good throws. 3 throws just now, all for first downs. I did not get to see Duggan.

Did I hear that CJ Spiller is playing for the Chargers? He seemed to score a TD but it was called back by a flag. I have to check if it was CJ Spiller, the former Buffalo RB. EDIT: The announcer said CJ Spiller but it is Isaiah Spiller. CJ is a coach now.

Oh yeah, that is my point. Fields had two receivers that made good plays but the stats appear like Fields had a much better day than he really had. (He only had three passes.) He does not remind me of Tebow at all. Tebow was a better version of Tommie Frazer who won National Championships with Nebraska. I think Fields is a better passer than Tebow.

@PRnum1 Are you watching Stetson Bennett? He too looks poised and comfortable.

Both TD passes were thrown behind the line of scrimmage. The stat sheet looks great but by watching the game, you realize that the performance was not as great as the stats would suggest.

Was Levis the QB that Lenny Moore wanted to draft? As I wrote before, if Richardson was "bad", then Levis and all the rookie (and most veteran) QBs were "bad" too. And it is not warranted. That post seems like it was written a while back, but the writer decided to post it now.

That is Wilson's third year. He should be looking a lot better than others. The Jets have a good team. They played very well today in every quarter. They just shut out the Panthers, albeit it is preseason.

Okay, thank you. I went to Rochester once or twice but never to Buffalo. I have been to Oswego, Ithaca, Herkimer, Syracuse but never Buffalo. You did not answer the other part of my question. Jets are looking good. They have shut out Carolina. They lead 20-0. Rodgers did not play.

Serious question: What do fans expect from a rookie in his first game? Richardson's performance was as good as anyone could expect. I watched many games since Thursday and everyone looked just okay. Fields probably looked best of all the QBs I saw, but he only threw 3 passes, two which went for 2 TDs. One cannot expect a rookie to come in and do that.
